  1. The BBC should be more interested in the Scottish courts effectively legalising sectarianism with the recent bizarre ruling that the H word isn't sectarian. This leads onto the major problem of strict liability. Who gets to define what is allowable and what isn't? It opens a can of worms, where every chant and song gets analysed to the nth degree, and decisions like how many seats need to be wrecked by the Green Brigade before action is taken?

  3. Chris McLaughlin and Hibs - Rangers games. It was August'15, Rangers had been drawn away to Hibs in the opening round of the Petrofac Cup. BBC Scotland sent Chris along to cover the match at Easter Road. Pre-match, Chris was confident newly appointed Hibs Gaffer, Alan Stubs would triumph against Rangers new manager, Marc Warburton. After twenty-odd minutes, Chris reported, "as expected, Stanton has put Hibs one up". At half time, Chris reported injustice, two quick time Rangers strikes saw a 1-2 scoreline, "Hibs have been mugged". The full time result was Hibs 2 Rangers 6 and McLaughlin's match report began, "Four Rangers supporters have been arrested and charged with offensive, sectarian chanting". Chris was still on Twitter nine years past and few Rangers supporters engaged with him, myself included. Chris assured us the information was supplied by the Match Commander and that he always conversed with the MC after a game. Four weeks later, Chris's favourites were away at Pittodrie and those of us watching on TV were regaled with the full IRA karaoke from the travelling support. Chris was pitch side for BBC Scotland and his match report was all about the football. Again, he was engaged on Twitter and he told us he had conversed with the Match Commander and no arrests for offensive chanting had been made. Imagine our surprise when Tuesday's Aberdeen Press and Journal reported six Yahoos in court, four for offensive chanting. Chris left Twitter. The next two seasons saw Chris double down on his perception of accuracy and objectivity. Rangers withdrew his press credentials and for the next five years, BBC License Fee paying Rangers supporters received next to no service from the national broadcaster. Chris was promoted twice during this period, his current designation is, 'Sports News Correspondent'. Sectarianism remains a problem in Scottish football and an element of our travelling support contribute to it. However, sectarianism is NOT a one way street and Chris MUST acknowledge this.

  4. Chris McLaughlin agrees with you. But only when it's Rangers singing naughty songs -never a whimper out of the freak when that lot, Aberdeen or Hibs do it. I can't believe what a bunch of big pansies football fans have become. The nastiness is part of what drew me into football as a kid - I loved it.

  5. People who get upset with naughty songs should crawl back up to their mummy’s tit .

  6. Remember when the yahoos celebrated the Offensive Behaviour Bill (or whatever it was called) coming in, prior to it biting them on the arse. Hibs fans aren't really bothered about songs. Like their Oirish brethren, they're bothered about us winning things and being Scottish champions. They will never stop whining and moaning until we are gone, dead, disappeared, ended. Don't forget that when you're trying to appease their hollow outrage.

  9. I don't expect this to be a popular opinion but see when you take away some of the tit for tat songs and provoking of players and opposition supporters I think it detracts from the overall atmosphere. Although I can understand offensive songs is right up there with dodgy firestick streams in terms of the biggest problems the UK has to deal with in 2024 so it no doubt needs our full attention.

  10. Yeah, the whole idea that empty seats are preferable to having fans in the ground is crazy. The hatred that costs club considerable amounts of money and actively prevents fans attending is damaging our game...and it's a majority of the clubs in the premiership that take this approach.

  12. It is a storm in a tea cup. How many arrests are made at football matches per the thousands who attend? Just stop the stupid songs and we have nothing to fear. We have so any good Rangers songs. I agree the Hibs fans have spat out the dummy but we must be smart about it too.

  13. Hibs better be careful with what they wish for with strict liability. Celtic fans are the worst of the lot and the club know it. It won't be supported by the other clubs nor should it.

  14. I fancy us to win the game tomorrow but if we get beat it's no skin off my nose in regards to the rest of the season. It's getting to the point where we need to start qualifying for the UCL whilst our coefficient and club ranking is healthy though (and getting healthier over the next 3 or 4 seasons). So I can understand fans prioritising the league. Although I read today that if we win tomorrow night we will have earned more than the Seville run because of our UCL play-off drop down.

  18. Bit of a weird one tomorrow night - huge match but Dens on Sunday is even more important. I keep seeing folk going on about how great the atmosphere will be. I think we'll sing a song or two to start with, then it'll be monotonous drum music from the UBs until we score. As for the match itself, I really have no idea how it'll go. They have far better players than we do but we've disposed of similarly good sides in recent years, so who knows. Just hoping for a good game.

  19. Open secret that Rangers will NEVER get credit for. I can't believe the scum have contributed that many points in comparison. They are absolutely, tits on a bore hog worthless outside of Scotland.

  20. I'd rather sit in the away area between the Govan and the Broomloan than sit in the uncomfortable seats in the far away corner of the Club Deck.

  21. Exactly right. All so-called offence is motivated by hatred and envy.

  22. The reality is nobody is offended, it's just another show of hatred towards Rangers by Scottish football in general, they all tried to kill Rangers and failed, this is where it all comes from. The whole of Scottish football hate Rangers, including the SFA and the Scottish gutter press. Rangers and Rangers fans have been praised and spoken about all over Europe in the last five years or so particularly for our fantastic performances in Europe, raising the profile of Scottish football, earning coefficient points which Scottish football benefits from greatly, the only Scottish club doing so!. I agree our fans let themselves down sometimes with the choice of songs, however we are no worse than any other fans, in fact we are nowhere near most fans with their vile songs against us! some of the filth that gets sung against Rangers is despicable yet get away with it!. Only in Scotland we are despised, Scottish football hating itself to death!.

  23. Absolutely, but it could be a big IF. We are so thread bare right now and with some players are going through a dip in form as you say - I'll say collectively, as I dont want to single anybody out. But we are in danger of bottoming out at such a crucial time. The one saving grace may just be the international break.

  24. Sini Singing this and TBB has allowed the Hibs fanbase to put pressure on their board, which they have obviously found impossible to ignore. Our support needs to be a bit more sensible at times. It's fine for the young team to be rebellious and sing that stuff but the result is fewer tickets for our support going forward, and that could be further replicated in other grounds (and already has in most). I'd hope that our board respond and similarly cut Hibs allocation...maybe a wee trip to the club deck for their chosen few is called for....given the vandalism at Ibrox and their equally offensive chants both at the weekend and at Ibrox.

  25. I didn't hear that. Someone from the club needs to have a word about that. As for the rest of it, some of the songs do need to stop but the hypocrisy of Hibs makes it sound like sour grapes. Throwing obstacles, including a sharp knife, on to the pitch is reprehensible. I said the same about the idiot who threw the glass from the Copland. As for scribbling 66 on all the seats, that is worse than a hurty song.

  26. Agree with PoohBear, far too much shit being sung by all clubs fanbase. singing "glory glory what a hell of a way to die" the other night when a player was in serious distress i found most disgusting.

  27. We need a quality number 10 linking the midfield and forwards. Injuries have put paid to that. I think we will likely huff and puff until some of our more creative players are back.
