What's the link to Celtic?

Everyone watch the managers press conference , outstanding

Danny, Tom English received a ton of abuse from Celtic fans for his piece on Lennon. I'm led to believe he was contacted by Lennon himself and chastised so this to me reeks of a bit of balancing up by English. He was right to have a go at Lennon but wrong to blame McCoist for the threats on the SFA3. It's not as simple as his opinion, these guys have to cultivate their material and in a Scottish sportswriters world that includes doing favours for their subjects from time to time in return for access and snippets of information. -
Of course Murray couldn't wait to get rid of the shares...he had the BTC looming and the bank putting pressure on him to pay back their debt. Whyte spotted an opportunity and went for it. I don't think it's gone according to plan for Whyte. His attitude now is more driven by the hostile media and fans than by any kind of exit strategy and by that I mean that he had planned administration from day one and his end game would have been to be the one left holding the baby at the end. A debt free business with a huge turnover and the chance of making a profit. I'm not saying I think he's in any way right because what he's done is systematically destroy our reputation and caused us to be facing draconian sanctions from the SFA.

Financial Fair Play in the Championship
Juancornetto replied to Juancornetto's topic in General Football Chat
Hence the "at the moment" remark in comma's Calscot. My point is that we could adapt to these rules far quicker and easier than Celtic. -
Bayern's football is several notches above Chelsea's level, a very very good technical team with a bit of dig in them as well. Anything's possible but I can't see Chelsea even taking the final to extra time.
-
You're entitled to your opinion mate, and I'm equally entitled to defend my comments and make sure they aren't misrepresented. Any suggestion that I was smearing an ethno-religious group is inaccurate.
-
How so? I have great admiration for the Jewish ability to punch above their weight and nothing I've said suggests otherwise. Maybe you are pre-conditioned to look for bigotry where none exists?
-
Made me shudder, this model has been played out through history in nations with an aggressive minority over an over again. Our Jewish friends have perfected the technique. Ironic that the "old" Republican ideology was so anti-Semetic.
-
I'm talking about the new face of Republicanism in Scotland, they've attached themselves to a number of ideologies including socialism to appear less malevolent.
-
It's a real pity that nobody with any likelyhood of controlling the club thinks the same way we do, I could stomach 5 years of English lower lower league football if it meant we had something big to aim for but starting in the Scottish 3rd division with nothing better than the, by then, Celtic controlled SPL doesn't really fill me with excitement. Maybe the time is right to hold some sort of poll or demonstration that would show how many of us actually would be prepared to start from scratch in England?
-
This is the final straw for me, I don't buy into media conspiracies normally but it's abundantly clear that the SFA have been upset by the fans reaction to the sanctions (boycotting, contacting sponsors etc) and have decided to make it look like they are under threat. Straight out of the Peter Lawell handbook on how to influence opinion and gain an advantage for yourself.

A Republican backwater and agenda riddled socialist state?

Financial Fair Play in the Championship
Juancornetto replied to Juancornetto's topic in General Football Chat
The three who voted against were Reading, Southampton and Cardiff City. Interesting to note the difference in stance by the Football League when compared to the SPL, who have already seen 4 clubs go into administration and yet don't seem to have any plans for adhering to the global financial fairplay rules which Platini has promised. Under the Championship's rules neither us (at the moment) or Celtic would be allowed in even if they wanted us. -
Championship clubs agree to introduce financial fair play model Championship clubs have voted in favour of introducing a groundbreaking new financial fair play model, the Football League has announced .All but three of the npower Championship's 24 clubs voted in favour of introducing the model, which is based on Uefa's financial fair play regulations, and plans to curb Football League debt by limiting investment from owners and total spending. Football League research has revealed that the 72 clubs that form the Championship, League One and League Two are on course to rack up a combined £2 billion of debt unless spending and investment from 'sugar daddy' owners is curbed. The regulations will be introduced next season on a gradual basis, but sanctions for non-compliance will not be put in place until the 2014-15 season. Under the regulations, from the 2014-15 season, clubs who record total losses of over £6 million will be hit with either a transfer embargo or a fine that could run in to the millions. The club in question will be fined if they are promoted to the Premier League and will be hit with a transfer embargo if they remain in the Championship. Owners will be allowed to invest £6 million next season, £5 million the following and £3 million the following season Financial losses per season will also be curbed under the new regulations. Clubs will be allowed to record a £4 million loss next season, £3 million per season for the next two campaigns, and £2 million per season from 2015-16 onwards. The money generated from any fine imposed will be shared among the clubs in the Championship who are compliant with the regulations. The initiative is seen as an important step to stopping Football League clubs going bust. Earlier this season Portsmouth went into administration and Football League Chairman Greg Clarke predicts several clubs will go out of business if this scheme is not adopted. The Football League have been consulting with the Premier League and the FA, and are confident the initiative will get the official backing of both bodies. The scheme applies to the Championship only, but League One and League Two already have initiatives to make them more financially sound. League Two clubs are already allowed to spend 55 per cent of turnover on wages and a similar scheme will be introduced to League One next season after a successful pilot scheme this term. Any League One club spending over 65 per cent of their turnover in the 2012-13 season, or 60 per cent of their turnover in the 2013-14 season will be hit with a transfer embargo. Clarke said: "On the pitch we have three exciting, competitive divisions with crowds at their highest levels for 50 years. But that success isn't necessarily being reflected on our clubs' balance sheets and we have to remedy that situation or face an uncertain future. "I'd like to commend the Championship clubs for the courageous decision they have taken today. "It means that for the first time, all 72 Football League clubs have agreed to take concerted action towards controlling their financial destiny. "Whilst we cannot promise that these rules will deliver results overnight, they will begin to lay the foundations for a league of financially self-sustaining football clubs." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/championship/9226249/Championship-clubs-agree-to-introduce-financial-fair-play-model.html

A point i'd love to see challenged on snyde phone in
Juancornetto replied to a topic in Rangers Chat
I caught the last 20 minutes of this muck last night and a bear gave it both barrels to the SFA over the ridiculous over punishment of Rangers. Actually stood in my kitchen and clapped when he had finished. Very rare to hear a bear at all let alone a sane and lucid one on SSB. -
We'll have a team of 18/19 year olds and those who nobody else wants next season, why not upset the SFA/SPL and let the kids play in the 3rd division? I'm sure we'd romp that first season and division 2 the next, the 1st division would be more of a challenge but by then we'd be able to bring players in. 3 seasons and back in the SPL, no sanctions no moving goalposts, no carve ups and 3 seasons worth of deterioration of the SPL without us.

I await Ally being hauled up in front of the SFA to answer a charge, in stark contrast to their handling of TLB and his complete lack of respect for the rules. Nothing would surprise me. -
No fear from me, there has been a lot of propaganda vehemently opposing liquidation/newco but it's looking like the only option now. We'd be hamstrung financially but I don't think for one minute that the SPL would vote to refuse us admission. The SFA have done all they can to hamper us for the next year or so there's nothing much anybody else can do. I'd love us to appeal to UEFA and bring the whole clandestine shabeen down around Regan and Lawell's ears.
-
If only mate, maybe some will fall away but I suspect we'll still have the FTP brigade dragging us down no matter what happens business wise.
-
Tata then, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Rangers then, Rangers Now, Rangers Forever.

Can you imagine if this kind of behaviour happened in Scotland? What exactly are UEFA doing about this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=nIGmgN7vte4
