  1. There is no reason why FTP should be considered sectarian, Rangers are not a religious club or have any links to any religion we are a secular organisation and so attacking the head of a religion should be "free speech". Maybe there is a big Christian/Protestant element to our support but I would hazard a guess that 75% of "us" do not practice. I dressed up as a Cardinal at Halloween and had an interesting debate with a Celtic supporting neighbour of mine...his view was that I was being borderline sectarian. His justification for saying that was simply because I am a Rangers supporter! I told him in a free country it is against no law or by-law to mock a religious leader no matter which team you support. You don't see Hitchens or Fry being arrested and charged with sectarian offences and they regularly rip Catholicism apart. Rangers fans seem to have lesser rights than everybody else.
  2. If you think Rangers fans are being paranoid in the same way as Celtic fans have been for 50 years (and still are) then you are well wide of the mark here Danny. Is Craig Whyte being paranoid? Was McCoist paranoid when he was edited to make it look like he was laughing at sectarian violence? Certain pro-Celtic BBC employees have used their positions to paint Rangers in a bad light, that's as far as I think it goes. A hugely different scenario to the scatter gun "everybody's against us" psychosis from them
  3. "They said concerns had been raised about the Bill by the Law Society of Scotland, the Scottish Human Rights Commission, the Scottish Justices Association, anti-sectarianism organisations, football supporters groups, religious organisations and children’s charities and “their powerful voices deserve to be listened to”." If all of these people express concerns about the Bill and it is pushed through regardless then it's a miscarriage of justice and anybody prosecuted under it should go to The European Court Of Human Rights with their case. The desperation to push this through smacks of fanatacism.
  4. Sounds like you've got it susses mate, what bribery do you have to indulge in for that?
  5. Did I say mrs? I meant mates honest guv.
  6. Buzzing for this game tomorrow, love Saturday kick offs at this time of year. Don't know when the next Saturday 3pm game is so going to make a day of it with the Mrs.
  7. We're not the same as them on many levels mate. The difference is that a huge number of them don't actually follow the football side of it, they see it as their obligation as a "good Catholic" to support ra Sellick. While I know we have many many "fans" like that it's definitely more prevalent amongst their mob. It's seen as a cultural right of passage rather than a genuine interest in the sport. That's my view and it's there to be shot down but it's been formed over 20 years of being a Rangers supporter and working and interacting with hundreds of people from both sides. Even my Celtic supporting mate will admit that bottom feeding scum are more likely to be from his camp than ours.
  8. If we do the business tomorrow the pressure will be on BIG TIME for them to get a result and we know what pressure does to the bottle merchants. Anyway feck them it's not as if they are our main title challengers this season.
  9. Andy thinks he's reinventing himself as some kind of Scottish Fitba pundit and is desperately trying to shed his Republican pro-IRA anti-Rangers image to appear "impartial". Interestingly he is despised by the Goon Brigade and sympathisers because of this, they don't want any of their people softening their views.
  10. The run in to the end of 2011 looks on paper at least pretty straightforward but we have to be at our best every week to capitalise on it. If we can keep picking up the 3 points until the Old Firm game I'm hoping that won't be a must win for us. I can't see Celtic keeping a clean sheet in any game and that will cost them points whether it's draws or defeats.
  11. Now they are world beaters again
  12. Decisions decisions....should I watch the 'Tic getting ran ragged or do I play the stack of games that I've got lying hardly touched?
  13. I think that's what was intended but now it's become the transcript. As a paid up grammar nazi I notice these things too but hey ho the content speaks for itself.
  14. I love it when they start that, so entertaining. Unlike their team.
  15. You always know when Speirs is losing a debate he starts attacking he scholastic credentials of the attacker.
  16. All factual stuff from STV, you can't argue with it. However, you can take issue with their counterparts in Pacific Quay peppering stories with "It is alleged" or "We understand" type sentences to exaggerate the story. If anything commercially funded companies like STV would be forgiven for sensationalising stuff to sell space or viewers but to see it from a publicly funded organisation is where I have the issue. Not necessarily that it's biased against Rangers (I don't think it is btw) but they are falling way below the standards and objectivity level which the BBC should be achieving.
  17. I was planning to but got kids to run about the country before the game on Saturday, hope there is right big turn out and it's organised properly. Would hate to see it descend into a rammy. If stories are to be believed "rival" fans are planning to disrupt the protest. Anybody heard anything?
  18. How surprised would you be to see Ian Black in a Celtic shirt in January?
  19. Just another stat that confirms no matter what they throw at us and and the rest of Scottish Football they just aren't good enough.
  20. Welcome Duncan, am I not the new boy any more now?
  21. Alan Thomson and Neil Lennon are both BIG boozers, Thomson has lost his licence and his family through it this year alone. It's not a massive leap to suggest that Lennon is using the coke to counter the alcohol too...once or twice I've noticed his nose is a bit scabby and red round the nostrils, could be the cold or it could be the jazz talc.
  22. It's in their upbringing, they are told they are oppressed and marginalised from day one and their whole "culture" is based on that apparent fact. I have no doubt that there was a time when that might be true but not in my lifetime (I'm 34)...they have cottoned on to the fact that playing the oppressed minority can bring its own rewards after all who is going to decide when it changes from defending their tradition to attacking another?
  23. Celtic's next two games are away to Motherwell then Inverness, only maximum points will keep Lennon in the hot seat. I hope they keep him until at least post January transfer window. Let him buy some more duds and steer them into 3rd place.
