Wow, 20.5p. If it gets much lower, Green will become interested again. God help us.

Worrying about CL budgets should be the last thing on our minds at the moment. As unpalatable as it may be, we are a country mile behind them in every single department. Let's try run before we can walk. I wouldn't trust this current mob to even guarantee us Europa football. If we stop them doing 10 in a row, I can meet my maker a happy man. I couldn't care less about 6 games a season in the Cl, at this moment in time.

Aye, I didn't mean it as a dig at D'art. Maybe he let his anger about it cloud his judgement a tad. I'm sure it wasn't intentional. The part about Ian would have been a nice little anecdote in his thread.

Just me that thinks Ian's name doesn't belong anywhere in such an article? I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but that was an uncomfortable comparison in my book.

You think we needed an extra £20m to run a club that had close to 40k book holders, to compete at the lowest level in Scottish football? At a very basic level, the fans actually put less in, than it cost to set up the IPO. It was set up to benefit the organisers only. I can't see any evidence whatsoever that the club is stronger because of it. The quicker we are back in private hands, the better. It's not a perfect solution, but it's the only way we can actually get real investment back into the club. I don't blame McColl, or King, for taking nothing to do with it.

Sad news indeed. Ian was my first memory watching us when he missed the penalty in the SC final against DU. I'm sure we horsed the replay, but I always remember that moment. Another one of us taken too young.

You had to be mad to buy them at any time, at any price. Buying them hasn't helped the club, and you lost half your dough in a few months. Saying that, I would have considered it at a penny a wip.

Aye, Sheffield United......... Can't seem to find their share price anymore. Hopefully King or A.N Other is waiting for a similar scenario.

Rangers fan cleared over online post about Celtic manager Neil Lennon
TheTinMan99 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
It all comes out the same budget, smartarse, our pockets. I wasn't defending the fella that posted the comment. This dept have software to search keywords on Twitter. If you don't see that as ridiculous, then good luck to you. -

Police Scotland are now trawling Twitter for naughty comments now? They must have solved all the murders and robberies then. Ridiculous. -
I come on here for some sanity and truth about the days events, and Ryan's here. I hope his ban from RM is temporary. The Easdale interview before Christmas was enough for me. He made Whyte look like a confident, honest man. Am I allowed to say that, without fear of a lawyers letter?

Rangers need £10m to stay afloat - Malcolm Murray
TheTinMan99 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I said arguably because we have more than enough income to support playing staff costs. You could argue that a lesser standard of player would affect crowds, enjoyment etc. I agree that a lot has been wasted though with Sandaza/Kyle etc. Our playing costs can only get higher as we progress. I don't see much wiggle room for cut-backs on the playing side. Not enough to impact on the direness of our position. -

TheTinMan99 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Our playing staff wage bill isn't the problem, although it's arguably excessive for the level we're playing at. We have a business model that requires Champions league money, just to almost break even. All this while playing in the lowest two tiers in Scottish football. We can expect a hefty season ticket hike, and having to borrow funds from the self-same people that put us in this mess. They may well dress it up as 'investment', but past history doesn't suggest it will be to clubs benefit. We may well have to have to hit rock bottom again before we rid the club of these parasites. -
Democratic Process - Hanging by a thread or a rope ?
TheTinMan99 replied to D'Artagnan's topic in Rangers Chat
I thought it was a decent analogy, also topical. The tories have no mandate from the people of Scotland to govern, much in the same way as this board have no mandate from the support. How we arrived at that situation, is still a complete failure in the process. In both cases, the peoples votes in effect don't matter. When this happens in so called democracies, the people have only one option left. I have no great hope that our support will organise itself enough to enact any change in the boardroom. We have the weapons to do it, but for most, the emotional attachment prevents them from seeing the bigger picture. The board know this. -
Democratic Process - Hanging by a thread or a rope ?
TheTinMan99 replied to D'Artagnan's topic in Rangers Chat
Our EGM was about as democratic as Scotland being governed by the Tories. So in a way, I suppose it was the British version of democracy. Just because we have been brain-washed from birth to believe democracy is our saviour, it doesn't make it any less corrupt, or self serving for the elite few. Sometimes democracy is not only wrong, but deeply damaging, especially when it is clearly based on how much money you have. It's no longer a noble concept worth defending at all costs. -
Still waiting for the people that allegedly threatened Green to be charged. Some bam on an internet forum is hardly a credible threat, as unsavoury as it may be. People post shite on the internet everyday. It usually gets deleted, then we all carry on. It makes for a good deflection story mind.

You have no proof of that, although I would hope what you say is true. This in effect, means all those that forked out a minimum of £500, are left sitting with a fancy, expensive piece of useless paper. Buying shares, and using our voting rights, will never be the supports biggest strength.
-
60/70% of our shareholders think the board have done/are doing a good job. Frightening. I don't buy this forgive and forget mentality. The club has been pillaged to within an inch(£1m), of it's life. Three things must happen immediately; 1.Stockbridge out 2.Irvine out 3.Anonymous investors named They don't deserve time, or another chance. They deserve hounded and protested against, until every last one of them is gone. You can't forgive people who are not sorry for what they have done. This was the plan from day 1. The connections to the Green business model is still in place, even though he is allegedly gone. Think of the tens of millions that have gone through our books, just for a season and a half in two pub leagues. We will have less than a million left, from upwards of £50m+ income. Have we really to trust these people with challenging a strongly positioned celtic? It would be funny, if it wasn't so tragic. On the day they get 10 in a row. I hope all the people that have supported this regime will remember the time we could've stopped it.

As long as 40k plus continue to passively back them, they simply don't give a fuck. If nothing else, the last year or so should have taught us this.

dic·ta·tor·ship n. 1. The office or tenure of a dictator. 2. A state or government under dictatorial rule. 3. Absolute or despotic control or power. The third definition sums it up reasonably well for me. Hope I cleared that up for you.

It's the block shareholders than won the vote, Frankie. It's nothing to do with inspiring enough people. We have a dictatorship disguised as a democracy. The dissent against the board doesn't come Paul Murray, it comes from the cold hard facts. I don't need inspired by anyone to fight against that. The idea that we should all try to forgive and forget is just ridiculous.

Dave King urges Rangers to invite PM onto board
TheTinMan99 replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
It's not so much King's money that we need. It's more the fact that he's not in it to line his own pockets. It could be King, or someone similar. We need to be self-sustainable in the long run. This current shambles can only end one way. Too many in it for the quick buck, then on to the next. The secrecy, and handing over of proxies to people connected to the original purchase, doesn't instil confidence. It's this that someone like King would restore.- 73 replies
