Morelos should be dropped for failing to kick Clancy in the nads and bite his throat. He might have been banned sine die but Clancy wouldn't have refereed another Rangers game either.
-
My memory says someone did try Tav in midfield but quickly abandoned it. Maybe it's my wishful thinking or maybe I dreamed it.
-
Steven Naismith hot favourite for the job.
-
I wonder if anyone has ever tried to compare Tav's impressive goal scoring record with the number of goals we've conceded over the years because of his inept defending. I'm guessing it's probably about break-even.
-
I thought it was crazy we didn’t sign Lewis Ferguson but there was a large part of our fan base who always condemned him out of hand. Maybe it was his name.
-
Only two choices really. I decided to vote for the future rather than the past. Raskin.

They’re nowhere near good enough. We attach so much hope to players who have achieved nothing in the game. It reminds me of the mentality that was so common as we climbed up through the lower leagues. Then we fret and froth over “squad players” when we have inadequate first choice players in so many positions.
-
As I said, it doesn't matter who he selects between now and the end of the season but I think basing our ambitions for next season on the players you mention is just committing to the same outcome.

Celtic? Frankly, I'll be amazed if we take anything at all from the Scottish Cup game and more than a draw from the remaining league game at Ibrox. That's not just pessimism following another OF defeat. No matter how much we want it to be otherwise it's an inevitable conclusion based on the evidence of our own eyes. We might not agree on the specific causes but there's no denying there's a smell of losers about the current incarnation of Rangers. We lack quality all through the team and, if pressed, I'd say only about 3 or 4 of those who started on Saturday should be making the journey with us next season. Sadly, the chances of being able to offload and replace 6 or7 players in the summer, improving quality in every position, are remote. Yet there's a real danger of falling behind for several years if we don't. Crisis, what crisis?

With the exception of Hagi, I don't think it matters who we play. It's very unlikely we will be relying on the likes of King, Lowry or McRorie next season. If we are then we'll have gone backwards instead of forwards.

Match Thread [FT] Celtic 3 - 2 Rangers (Tavernier 45', 79')

We seem obsessed with how good Celtic is. At the end of the day, does it actually matter? It seems to me the only thing worth getting worked up about is whether we are able to beat them, regardless of how good or bad anyone thinks they are. Right now we can't - doesn't matter why, we just can't and that needs to change. -

What's this new madness? On social media I see aspersions being cast on Michael Beale's future at Rangers? Beale got the LC final all wrong. I said that before kick off but he didn't get it wrong today. I think he did what he could today and scoring 2 goals at Parkhead isn't exactly the hallmark of failure. The big problems at Rangers are on the park and there isn't a damned thing Beale can do about it until the transfer window opens and even then he will have to compete with the rest of Europe for the talent available. Blaming the manager and loose talk about his future is the very last thing we need right now ... it's bad enough ffs. -

Harsh but on the evidence so far ... fair. -

I think what we've seen in recent weeks is the peak of this Rangers team. They can more or less be relied on to beat the other teams, albeit with occasional difficulty, but they simply don't have it in them to challenge Celtic for the title. That in itself is progress since the days of GvB and credit to Beale for shoring things up but to take the next step will require better players - it's really that simple. It's debatable whether we have the resources to change out enough players in one transfer window but until we do we can't realistically expect better outcomes. To make a genuine difference to our prospects, I reckon no fewer that 8 new signings will be needed, which is a big ask. -

The one thing no one can claim is to be surprised at another Parkhead defeat, at least not with a straight face. We had multiple chances to win ... but we didn't and that will forever be the legacy of this Rangers team. All the pre-match speculation about whether Celtic are world beaters or not is rendered fairly pointless when you see the sorry state of Rangers laid bare like this. There's one hell of a big job to do in the summer. -

Goldson being out is a blow but Souttar has been here many times and won't be phased. The defensive concern for me remains a pair of fullbacks who, the record shows, are incapable of defending the back post. Jack and Raskin may find it difficult to get forward if they're constantly covering for Barisic and Tavernier. The other concerns are the complete lack of cover on the bench for central defence and whether Morelos still has a decent performance left in him. What are the chances of Rangers finishing with 11 men on the park? -
Unfortunately we no longer have the team that won most of those games. Still, we can always reminisce.
-
At least as important as anything Celtic do is whether or not our manager has learned anything since the LC final. If he employs the same tactics then we're sunk before we start. It's a huge test for Michael Beale.
-
Don't read the mhedia.
-
I'm not sure they actually need to be world beaters.
-
Unfortunately, Alfredo Morelos left Rangers almost a year ago.

Unlike Nicola Sturgeon I still feel I need to show some respect for the truth -
I think I'm right in saying that the company receives tax relief on any interest it incurs against a loan received from a director, while the director in question is probably being taxed on any interest he receives. I'm sure there's a good reason why loans by a director should have a reasonable coupon ... but at the moment I can't think what it is. Maybe one of our money mechanics can remind me.

As much as I want it, there's just nothing pointing to a Rangers win. In fact, a draw might be pushing the bounds of optimism....... Celtic 2 - 2 Rangers FGS - Sakala -
The less you post, the more you post. That's as good a summary as could be written. There is no magic bullet for Rangers and trying to dismantle everything in pursuit of a futile dream is only going to undo the progress we've made. Recovery from the abyss of 2011/12 was always going to be a long term process, get used to it.
