  1. That's pretty much my view. I'm paying for 2 expensive tickets, having taken on an extra ticket this season, and getting no more benefit at the moment than someone who has a cheap one, while on a reduced salary as my company hasn't traded for more than a year, but 12 months on, I'm a lot happier to renew than I was this time last year. I guess success on the park, rather than having corrupt votes award last year's changes my outlook.

  2. Humorous look at the weeks ESL fiasco and the other benign influences stalking football today. https://www.spiked-online.com/2021/04/22/why-i-have-finally-stopped-watching-football/ Must admit, during an Ashes series or other test match series I am so glad of a break from football and all it has become.

  3. LOL. Barisic, Goldson, Tavernier, Davis, Kamara - 2nd string Hagi, Roofe - 2nd string ? The only true second string players we used from the start were McLaughlin, Simpson, Itten and maybe, Wright.

  4. Not for me either. I did always believe a British league cup would still work, like the old Texaco cup!.

  5. Not for me either. We are a Scottish club that belongs in the Scottish league. While I would love it to be more competitive, less corrupt, less samey, it is where we belong. A freezing cold winters night at Livingston is far more appealing than a freezing cold winters night at Southampton, purely from a travelling fans perspective.

  6. I will of course be renewing, but still disgusted at being sold a st this time last year that I got absolutely no value from. I know the club need the money, and it looks more promising that we will get to sit in our overpriced seats next season (probably not at full capacity for many months yet) but it still really annoys me that our club sold us something they couldn’t deliver, with as much emotional blackmail as we could handle. I am fully aware fans across the country got the same treatment, and if we hadn’t paid we couldn’t have survived this season with the squad that won us the title, but I can’t help feeling robbed at the way it was done.

  7. I sort of know what you mean but then I wonder which fixture would be more attractive, Livingston v Rangers on the plastic macaroni or Aston Villa v Rangers at Villa Park? But wait, I say to myself. Livingston and the Villa are not good comparisons. Swap Villa for Hearts and Southampton for Livingston and I might say stay where we are. On the other hand Everton, Newcastle, Leeds, Wolves. Hmmmm.

  8. FWIW, I'll be renewing and am fairly happy with the frozen prices but I am disappointed we still can't attend games. As such, I think it's reasonable to question the overall value but I'd rather the club received season ticket as normal to enable us to retain our title.

  9. Nope, not for this Bear, the EPL leaves me cold, the idea is no better than that ESL nonsense.

  10. It was an end of season dead rubber, and it played out that way. Very similar to the celtic (league) and hibs games. We do enough not to lose to maintain our unbeaten league record, but are very flat for most of the game, with some flashes of our old selves in wee spells throughout the game. It has been ever thus. In our 9IAR campaign, we had a few seasons where the league was wrapped up early and some really poor games come along to finish. 1994 was a case in point. From memory a 15 point lead (2 points a win I think as well?) meant we had the league wrapped up quick style, and we had a number of dead rubbers before the Scottish Cup Final against a bang average Dundee United who had never won the cup up until then, and we were going to back to back trebles. Our weeks of dead rubber performances took its toll and we didnt show up for the final and lost. That one hurt enormously. I can only hope that we do not suffer the same consequences in 2021.

  11. On Rangers TV Andy Little suggested that Simpson and Itten (in the second half) had a good game. I thought Itten was fine in the second half but I was not convinced about Simpson who looked a bit awkward and flat footed. Although a bit early early on the basis of one full game to conclude whether he will be successful at Rangers I think he has quite a bit to go before he challenges Helander. Overall, it was a very poor performance by Rangers with little cohesion, not enough hunting down in packs and difficulty in dealing creatively with the situation when they pressed our back four.

  12. No Mr Scott. I think this is a false flag and it will happen. You dont get these things happening without fire. Where is Mr Compo by the way. He is fined two weeks wages

  14. The match in Perth has finished ten minutes, a penalty awarded by the Referee in the 4th minute of injury time has secured the Saints a 1-1 draw. On BBC Scotland's football webpage, Jamie Lyall has a typical report, "the result leaves Rangers unable to amass 100 points". So, Rangers are on 93 points with three left to play; obviously PQ arithmetic differs from normal numeracy? Three wins achieves nine points and that added to 93 would leave 102. I note Jamie has changed it, "Rangers remain on track to amass 100 for the first time". Poor Jamie, having to work Chris McLaughlin's Suvul Calculator.

  15. The standard of BBC journalism is on par with Euan Anderson's refereeing performance "That's all she wrote. What a crazy end in Perth! Rangers remain unbeaten but can no longer reach the 100 point mark. A good boost for St Johnstone before the teams meet again at the weekend on Scottish Cup duty." We currently have 93 points, have 3 games remaining (9 points).....

  16. Do wonder if Itten will be with us next season. If he was bought to give Morelos competition then it’s not really working.

  17. If that is what the filthy rich owners of these clubs want. so be it,but they must be banned from their relative associations and from other tournaments. Fans can then make their own choice of whether they wish to follow their team in a "closed shop" and players have a good look at their contracts regards whether or not they can be made to play in this, especially those who play for their national sides if that is likely to be affected by EUFA/FIFA bans. I for one would realistically look at stopping going to football if my team were to be involved.

  18. The Liverpool owners who willingly go against the wishes of their manager and supporters won't hesitate to bypass Gerrard and appoint one of the established elite managers who routinely move from club to club like a pass-the-parcel game. He's a lucky man to be at Ibrox and he's smart enough to realise it.
