Their main strikers were out, that French guy is super-talented, but not a real striker. We played a low block and only came out after the break. Make no mistake, when these guys have room to play in, they can rip most teams apart (won 4-1 away in Dortmund and 2-0 in Bergamo recently). I reckon we will play Sakala, Arfield and maybe Roofe from the start and hopefully hit them early on and don`t try to play triangles close to our area. Their defence isn`t that good and can be hit with pace, but we do need someone in the middle. Wonder when Ramsey will be back.3 points

It's certainly a bit of a tactical conundrum for GvB. If we go at them, I can see there being a few goals scored. My worry is they have better quality forwards (albeit they didn't really show it last night). We, as a support, have a part to play too. Get behind the team and sing our hearts out!3 points

I think they struggled (a wee bit) with our low block and, much like us, prefer to have a more open game and hit on the counter/transition. In that sense, Ibrox may actually suit them more but I also like to think we can cause their defence more problems too and they didn't look entirely convincing at times last night on the odd occasion we got forward.3 points

That's all the warning that we need. They obviously are at their best when teams open up and give them space to create. There was enough evidence last night that their first half tactic was to draw our defence out enough to allow their runners from midfield to race through. Need to remember that the game lasts 90mins+ and no need to go chasing a goal, if it takes us to the 85min to equalise then that'll do nicely.3 points

🤣🤣🤣 Keep hoping. Most "journalists" in our country have an IQ that is equivalent to a plank of wood.2 points

I prefer to concentrate on the great strides we've made, under Gerrard and GvB, than bother about what that lot are doing in the European arena. It's all about The Rangers.2 points

Under Smith when we got our 9 in a row it was constantly used as a stick to beat us with by the press.2 points

Can't believe players, team and manager getting knocked for that performance. Opened up tonight and we'd have lost 3 or 4 nil, as it is, we were unfortunate to lose and still have a great opportunity to make the final. That'll do for me2 points

I think the first goal is very important but we can still beat them even if we concede first and I think they're capable of winning if we score first. Folk saying they're no better than Braga aren't facing facts.1 point

Obvious but 100% correct - said last night whoever scores 1st goal next Thursday goes to the final.1 point

Sorry to state the bleeding obvious but I feel like we need to get the first goal to have any chance of going through. If they score first, it could be a long old night1 point

I thought Dortmund in first half at Ibrox were the best side I'd seen us face in a couple of decades. They looked capable of opening us up at will. Leipzig look on par with Dortmund IMO, and will expect to beat us easily at Ibrox if we open up. It's a conundrum for the management team as we need to score but need to stop them from scoring. We need players back (Roofe and Ramsey) but even at full strength it'll take one of our best ever European performance to progress to the final. Not impossible as Ibrox can be a magical place at times1 point

I'm sure you will be in a very different frame of mind come Sunday morning. 🔴⚪🔵1 point

I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought they were a very good side, the best we have faced so far IMO, if we hadn't sat in we might have got skelped!!, correct tactics from the boss. They have enjoyed success away from home in EL this season winning by two clear goals in a few of their games. We have an outside fighting chance but we never really threatened them, however it's one match away from the final so it could happen! I'm just not convinced we have enough and they are a better side than us.1 point

But I believe we'll be seeded for each qualification round. Don't know about them right enough1 point

All this coefficient stuff might go out the window because uefa are looking at putting Ukrainian clubs straight into the groups in the three European competitions meaning qualifying matches for us and them1 point

I fully agree but wouldn't expect otherwise, regarding the Scottish press. I've thoroughly enjoyed all our Euro campaigns since Luxembourg and won't let biased reporting get in the way of that. 10 years ago our club was nearly finished and now we're 90 minutes/one victory away from a European final. It's magnificent!1 point

Oh agree, but we can but hope for consistancy in reporting. I feel our heroics in Europe have been underplayed in Scotland, compare and contrast with the praise we are receiving in rest of UK and further afield.1 point

Assuming we can contain them for 85mins. I don’t think that plays to our strength, I’d rather see us press high and put pressure on them from the off and try to get an early goal.1 point

Good performance and a decent result. I thought Aribo, Bassey and Lundstram were all terrific. From what I've read, Leipzig are better away from home and I think we'll have a very tough match next Thursday. Fingers crossed Roofe or Ramsey (preferably both) are available.1 point

PS what is it with German managers these days? is it a football match or a fashion show. He certainly looked like he had a few tricks up his sleeve. Or his half time job was delivering milk tray.1 point

Beaten by a wonder strike that could have, on another day been ruled off for offside. Credit to the manager and players that was a tough game last night and we really shut them down. We also created a few chances for ourselves. other than the Nkunku sitter and his header I think they barely made a cast iron chance. With the away goals rule abolished there was no real need for us to come out. We could have just sat in for the 90 but to our credit we did venture forward at times. Thought we were really well organised defensively. Ball wasn't sticking up top until they moved Aribo up front then the game really opened up a bit for us. They had a few players in thier team that they paid more for that our entire squad costs (Olmo, Gvardiol to name 2). Didnt really show if I'm being honest. Am i worried about them at Ibrox? No not really. Didnt look like a better team than anything we had played already.1 point

Well we know the task ahead play to our best and we will be in the final. Mon the gers1 point

Very true r_s although don't fancy penalties I'd take it right now if you offered them though1 point

That may have been different if he had "opened up". Given the players at his disposal, the manager got it right. For what they have spent, for all their European experience (especially in CL) they should be swatting us aside. So huge credit to our players as there looked very little between the teams tonight. I'd say whoever scores 1st next week goes to the final.1 point

Worth acknowledging the effort from the players tonight. We really worked hard on our defensive shape and only a fantastic strike breached it in the end. 0-0 would have been better but it was a low block system we know well, erm, well done.1 point

Would be better than 2008. Back then we could purchase players without relying heavily on Bosmans. This group of players, and the team that recruited them, deserve great credit for getting even this far1 point
