I don't go to Hampden any more but to be subjected to Michael Stewart in commentary is criminal.7 points

I am a Tav fan and always have been, he gets way OTT criticism IMO, but only online? the fans always sing his song. He is one player we will miss when he does leave!.5 points

I'm really worried about Cantwell; he seems like a loose cannon at times, not the polished performer we signed from Norwich. Hopefully it's just his injury holding him back.3 points

I'd love nothing more than PC being the man who finally talks Wright into believing he's good enough.3 points

I thought Balogun showed his age a few times and was lucky to get away with it.3 points

I wouldn't say poor first half imo - I thought it was fairly decent but it was a lot better in the second.3 points

I think Michael Stewart is a good pundit. He gets at the truth. In the sense that the truth is going to be the exact opposite to what he says.3 points

Right angles are Masonic. Thus proscribed.3 points

Aye Scott Wright has games where you can see that there's clearly a talent there - if he could play like that week in week out he'd be a first pick for us. If he keeps up this good form for us I'd be tempted to extend - he's in his prime, has pace and is homegrown. As a squad player and bench option we could do worse, if he finally realises he's actually alright at football then he might even be a regular rotation option/first teamer. Although it's IF he keeps up these performances.2 points

I think he is definately slowing down, but he's still so effective in what he brings to the team.2 points

How could anyone have suggested Tav was finished? He was meant to be slowing down, not showing leadership qualities etc. For me he is irreplaceable right now.2 points

The difference in work rate across the whole squad is remarkable and that can be down to no one other than the manager, who appears to be as astute as Beale was bone headed. But the improvement he's brought to certain players is even more impressive. For example, from virtual exile in the footballing wilderness, Scott Wright now plays like he believes he's a worthy member of the team. There are green shoots appearing and for the first time in ages I'm starting to flirt with that dangerous old tease called hope. Lots of good performances today, I thought the midfield pairing of Jack and Lundstram were particularly effective. Lundstram has been in good form for a while now but I was starting to think Jack might struggle to find a place. However, the last two games have convinced me we are a better side when Jack plays and the more he plays the better he gets.2 points

I've always liked Wright. He's a good squad player. However, you don't want him to be a first-team starter too often, IMO.2 points

The Hertz players must really love that Hampden turf, the way they frequently prostrate themselves upon it. Maybe it's a religious thing.2 points

Had misgivings over Butlands passing ability before he came but the last few weeks it's been really good. Just a top modern keeper.2 points

Happy with that. We're making progress under a proper manager.2 points

If they'd shown the other frame there was no contact.2 points

We just need Cantwell to get on the ball more and Danilo to take one of his chances.2 points

Gives Barasic a game before Europa Cup on Thursday as Ridvan is not eligible.2 points

Hopefully we'll see a continuation of our performances against Hibs and Dundee and not so much of what we saw against Hearts last week. Start on the front foot and I'm quite confident we can do the business. 🟥⬜🟦2 points

Of course you're probably Wright (sorry), but let's hope not!1 point

Ah shoot was I too late? Was being smart and waiting for the starting lineup before picking fgs 😂1 point

Poor 1st half performance, but very good 2nd half. The introduction of Wright changed the game. 3 great goals (yet another 2 for Tav) and only slight negative was not keeping a clean sheet. Thought Lundstram bossed the game again and Lammers impressed1 point

Yessss, we are in the final. Well done all round. Tav man of the match.1 point

It's performances like this that make you see why Scott Wright gets chance after chance manager after manager. Also, we'll win things with this goalie.1 point

The build-up to that Cantwell chance around 27 minutes was sublime.1 point

Thanks, I assumed RTV wouldn't be allowed to show this one, so glad I asked. It's on the screen now. Thanks again.1 point

Older Gersnetters will recall the mystery surrounding DJ at the 1978 WC in Argentina when he was part of the Scotland squad but never got a game in a struggling Scotland side which embarrassed itself. After a treble winning season 77-78 with Rangers, in which DJ scored 25 league goals and got both Scotland’s goals in the home internationals before the WC, he headed out to the WC finals where he wouldn’t play a single minute. To this day I don’t think DJ has ever said a word about this but for whatever reason I don’t think he was ever the same player again after 1978. He’s been asked often but been declined to give reasons IIRC Summer 78 was also when Jock Wallace left Rangers for Leicester City & was replaced by John Greig. Looking back it seemed Jock Wallace got a lot more out of DJ than Greig would be able to. And ultimately DJ would be part of JG’s 1983 clear out before he himself got cleared out later that same year Unfortunately I don’t think Derek Johnstone ever became the player we’d hoped he’d be but I’ve always wondered if the summer 1978 was a turning point for him?1 point

I have posted before about the good fortune of being a fifteen year old schoolboy and my old man taking me to Barca' in 1972, a truly magical three days. I missed the 5-1 mauling of ra Sellik at Ibrox in September'88. I was in Oman and it was operational. On the Yemen border leading a recce patrol, we harboured up and set out two OPs. Stagging on during the silent hours, my signaller had rigged an ariel to receive the BBC World Service. It was most unprofessional, I had one ear pod secured listening Paddy Feeny's sports desk. He was a wonderful broadcaster and knew how to tease. He began by telling us there had been a six goal thriller at Ibrox then, played six dozen second commentary sequences of each goal. Of course, the green'n'grey hooped horrors notched first and I thought we have lost 0-6. Even after the fourth sequence informed we had gone 3-1, I thought at least the worst will be 3-3. When Rangers fifth was relayed I indulged in the loudest and longest silent scream. I lapsed into further unprofessional behaviour(almost Bootneck behaviour) and imagined myself in the Enclosure bouncing and hugging fellow Bears.1 point
