  1. Today, I am intent upon supporting the Rangers. Well, until the first glaring miss, failure to play the obvious ball, failure to make appropriate substitutions, not having a dig when it is obviously on, a missed tackle, going long when the wide ball is begging to be played, losing the toss, winning the toss and choosing the wrong end, announcing the wrong starting line up, ......................... We'll support you evermore Loyal RSC.

  2. I think the club's Lawyers need to remind Nick Clark of the terms of his contract. The mighty Rangers absolutely battered the Perth Predators, suppressed the venomous threat of the Super Soaraway Saintees and, courageously took a stand against the Tractor Tyrants. We carried the standard of Scottish football. Jason Holt took cognisance of his contract and delivered a wonderful volley into the roof of the net. Surely it is not too much to ask that Nicky Clark as a fellow fellow former Bear does likewise for a more comfortable victory. I t is a sad day for Scottish football when we can not rely on former players to do the necessary.

  3. You could say that of professional footballers in general. However, they (including Dessers) are human and will be affected if the criticism is sustained and especially if perceived as unreasonable. IMO Dessers has generally done his best and has done so in the face of a lot of very vocal criticism. He has scored more goals than Egil Ostenstad, Jeffers, Beattie and Sebo put together. If asked to play a role that doesn't match his game then better to direct a good chunk of the criticism elsewhere. A lot of the negative vibes around the club have their root in our financial situation.

  4. My only problem with Dessers is that he is completely rubbish. The only enigma is why we signed him.

  5. He’s our top scorer this season but most would be happy for him to leave. He misses many chances but scores some good goals. He keeps going but occasionally shows his frustration. Whatever you think of Dessers, I don’t hold with the derision that is meted out to him. This happens with other players too but Dessers is the main recipient. I find this derision, particularly by supporters at the match, somewhat unbecoming. It is said in some quarters that his confidence is low and this adds to his poor decision making in front of goal. If this is true then when he misses an easy chance, after our initial cry of anquish it does not help to constantly barrack him. When someone is low and out of sorts they need supported, not hounded. I’m sure the management and his team mates are doing their bit to support him. I just wish our supporters had a tad more understanding.

  8. A win's a win. I thought we restricted them to bugger all, which is good. Unfortunately we created bugger all, which is bad. The latter needs to change.

  9. It wasn’t and there was contact. Why none of our players protested I have no idea. Steven McLean is an idiot and the linesman on the main stand side is likeminded. Dreadful officiating.

  11. What was the thinking if Hagi was coming off? - Was it Yilmaz to LB and push Jefte forward then move Bajrami into the 10??

  12. Apparently you can get the ball by going through a player today...

  13. Ref giving them a free kick every time one of our players goes near.

  14. Sterling injured again. Just as well that we have a player who has been almost constantly available for nearly 10 years.

  15. I think you could say the same about Dessers. Never hides, always available and appears to have a positive attitude

  16. I'm sure we can bring them down to our level.

  17. The original Enigma was Kris Boyd. However there is a big difference between Boyd and Dessers - Boyd knew how to put the ball in the back of the net. His criticism was he didnt do it against Celtic and was a waste of a shirt outside the box - Older posters will remember I was one of Boyd's critics - yet Id take him all day long right now over Dessers. Dessers issue isnt work rate, its that he misses chances in the range from half chances to easy chances to sitters - yet will still get goals but its 1 out of 9 or 10 chances (which actually says we are creating in the final third). But I dont see his game improving in the future and I can only see the sitters continuing.

  18. Maybe we should hold off a bit, might be a bit too soon to judge. He might still come good.

  19. When he says “see you at Ibrox” he means inside not minueting about on the street.

  20. As expected considering out record. Let's hope Sterling is OK for the next run of games. As much as Tav was better today, I can't watch the Tav/Maeda match up again.

  21. City defender should have been closer to salah to prevent him getting his ball into the box bad defending doesn’t end at Ibrox

  26. Very very ugly game. Played a bit better after the goal. The positive was Hagi - very good performance for his first start in over 500 days.

  27. Igamane off is the right decision, another worker in Diomande rather than Dessers is wrong though.

  33. He does, I agree, but I think he'll cost quite a bit more than Bajrami. I've been disappointed with Bajrami recently but I'll reserve judgement until he gets a run as a #10.

  34. Agreed, but I think they look a lot more progressive than the normal run-of-the-mill Scottish side.

  36. Correct it's the whole that wins titles and until we get one it won;t happen. EG. The defence is a PROPPER mess and not a full Diamomd(e) at #10,

  38. Had the misfortune to hear Richard Gordon and even Neil 'Two Hats' McCann* downplay last night's fine win on BBC Sportsound last night. Isn't it amazing how many poor teams we've played in the last five years in Europe? Just good luck it seems delivering this ranking for Scottish football (H/T https://x.com/swissfootdata) Triple click the image to see it full size. * I've noticed quite often that Neil wears a very different BBC Shortbread hat compared to his RTV one. He is a decent pundit IMO and I'd much rather such people were objective but there's a difference between rightly calling Nice awful (let's face it they were) and not also really giving us the credit for what was a performance full of hard work and physical strength.
