What is the protest trying to achieve? It says that they want "accountability, ambition and leadership". That's very generic. I'm not sure what they want the directors to do. Bring in new directors? Sell up? Take way their finance and loans? I don't know what exactly they are wanting. As for the RSA, they appear to be faceless these days. No mention of who their office holders on their website or twitter as far as I can see. Changed days from when John McMillan and John Donald ran it extremely well for many years. It's an organisation that doesn't have individual members so it's a bit more difficult for people to know who to aim their thoughts at. People are entitled to leave when they want, either on 55th minute or part of the subway loyal, but should be aware that it's impacting the team when they do so....in the same way as the actions of an organisation that costs the club tens of thousand of pounds in a year in fines does.5 points

I am finding it a struggle to muster up any enthusiasm to attend today but I will (in cold that won't do me any good) and stay until the end. I am not yet at the stage of joining protests. I find the timing of the statements a bit off in light of the fact we all knew the CEO was going to speak to the fans. He didn't say anything that would lead me to walk out today.4 points

That's not specified in the quote. If he loses several more games he'll be sacked pronto. He's only in charge now because there are wider issues. If we had a better squad and were more financially stable he'd be sacked already. It's about looking at the circumstances logically and to not get carried away with emotional decisions.4 points

There seemed to be very little support in the stadium for the UB banners. There was some applause in the Broomloan but very limited elsewhere. I was surprised by the level of booing when they did their walkout. I was also surprised at how few joined them from the rest of the stadium. The reduction in fans wasn't noticeable apart from the UB section.3 points

Don't agree with the walk out protest as I have never and will never take part in any actions that have the potential to affect the teams performance on the park.3 points

You're still assuming that an appreciation of the logic in keeping Clement (for now) is the same as fulsome support for Clement.3 points

Not to say I won't participate in any future protests, however I'm past all that. I expanded too much of my time and life "protesting" when Murray was in charge. The abuse those few who stuck their head above the parapet received was unacceptable but not surprising. I've never felt so detached from the club and section of our fans, including in those days and during the spivs reign where I deliberately took a back seat / neutral view. Its worth noting that the UBs were the 1st to call the spivs out and took abuse for that as well. This just seems to me, that it'll go the same way as it did under Murray and we all know how that ended up.2 points

Hearing reports that fans in CR were throwing cups of liquid, pies and coins at those leaving on 55mins. Shocking if true and I've no reason not to believe the person who told me).2 points

Hagi being dragged backwards, through our box by the colar of his shirt at their goal. Nsiala elbowed on the mouth in their box. To think we actually pay good money for var is almost comical 😠 Apart from that a decent game and three points.2 points

Exactly. When I heard "review into all aspects of our operation", it screamed to me merging departments/roles and subsequent job cuts.2 points

As I've said before, I thought his press conference was quite good, but the RSA have said that it was the content of it that's causing them to protest today.2 points

What Patrick Stewart said yesterday WRT Clement was far from a comprehensive backing for the manager. He basically sat on the fence between the sensible and the hard of thinking opinions. This is a strange situation. As you allude to, there are other issues that currently trump the question of football team manager. However, the hard of thinking or those with different, more short term priorities may push this to breaking point. The bottom line is that we need to change the way we operate and wean ourselves off the addiction of losing money, year after year. Until that happens, no matter how much you shout about 'we are a club that should win games every week/trophies', we'll remain the Espanyol of Scotland.2 points

I really don't know what some amongst our support expected , given what we all know , the ridiculously bad player trading under Beale and GVB , we simply cant bin managers every time . I really liked and am glad that at long last there is going to be an in depth external review of our entire football operations , god , how many times have we said that the clubs a shambles etc etc , well now hopefully we get this done and find out exactly what's going wrong and sort it . What would be the point in sacking PC , finding out that there were fundamental flaws and that there was nothing he could have done about it , also remember the amount of players that he still has been left with that need shifted , Dessers , Matondo , Lawrence , Dowell ,also the youth players that are obviously not going to feature , Lowry , Devine ,King etc This season is a write off , we wont win the league , we wont finish 3rd , we need to give the new CEO and Chairman a chance to sort things out internally . We are heading , albeit slowly in the right direction imho.2 points

I think it will be the same problem then that it is now and it’s not that people don’t care about protesting. Id guess the likes of us on Gersnet, other forums and social media are a small portion Rangers fans who are engaged online. I bet you the vast majority don’t bother with twitter or forums and had little to no idea any walkout was happening today or even the tension that was bubbling under with regard to the boards mismanagement. The rank and file fan who still reads the news papers and listens to radio Clyde phone in. The guys who had no idea what Murray was up too. The reason the spivs got a free reign for so long.1 point

Ignoring extra time and penalties United have gone consecutive games at Anfield and The Emirates undefeated. Very good progress. Now they must win their next two home games in the league. They should beat So’ton (everybody does) and Brentford too. What they must not do is win their next Euro game. Concentrate on the League lads. Personally I hope United get relegated but that’s not going to happen. Still, the memory never fades.1 point

I saw/witnessed different to be honest. The banners received applause in all stands and people left all stands in the 55th minute. 2 next to me in BF4 who were abused by some others for leaving (those who abused them, left on the 77th minute). Nobody was a winner today - lucky if there was 35,000 in attendance, protestors left on 55mins, vast majority of fans left by 85mins This is just the start, throwing objects at those leaving is the low point. Hopefully those involved will be identified and banned. Or will this board act like Murray and defend and congratulation those who attack protestors?1 point

Been the same story all season. 1 x 45mins of decent performance, 1 x 45mins of bad performance. 3 points, disjointed team, disjointed support and we limp on to Wednesday v Aberdeen.1 point

Much better second half. Didn’t know Dessers had joined Arsenal in the Window as a Finishing Coach. Havertz twice scoops the ball over the bar from right underneath it. One of the two went wide as well. Odegaard has a penalty saved. You always look stupid if you don’t score a penalty but you look doubly stupid if you miss after a corps de ballet routine in the run up. Harry Maguire defended like Geordie Young. That’s like total eclipses of sun and moon in the same twenty four hours. Hitherto unknown. 2-2 and extra time. Gunners should have won it but ten man United show what can be done if you work at your job.1 point

Spurs have been fortunate in this game today it was almost one of those upsets that the FA cup can bring1 point

That was against Aberdeen, and was basically a mauling. Even those fans who still backed Beale then turned. Rangers home form under Clement is what has saved him. The game after today is Aberdeen at Ibrox. Testing times.1 point

Our accounts are audited numbers. Over decades we rack up losses year on year. That needs to END Continually falling back on...'just one more hit'...and it'll be ok has to finish.1 point

They can have a opinion, but in my opinion would be wrong to criticise anyone for joining the protest. Also, please all remember this isn't a UB statement / protest. Its joint with RSA who are escaping any criticism.1 point

"Changing a manager is not a silver bullet solution". Yes we know that well, Patrick. However, nor is implementing the findings from an external review to ensure the club is run better and doesn't need to be underpinned by shareholder loans... but at least it's a start, a move in the right direction given the shambles we find ourselves in. I would expect we will see our annual losses decrease, even break even, accompanied by a fanfare of trumpets. Anyway, let's say the club find a way to become more financially sustainable, let's say that takes 2 years, and in that time we consistently still lag behind our rivals, then we change the manager? How long does he (or she) get if we don't win a title in that time? 3 years? Then the next manager? Will we move from sacking managers for failure every year to 18 months, to every 2-3 years? Okay, okay one step at a time. Financial stability first, then some profit, player trading improves, more profit. We are out of the woods. Meanwhile, in the east, they continue to bank CL cash, more transfer cash, more commercial and season ticket revenue. Wouldn't we still be relying on them having an awful season to be able to compete? But they don't. Are we back to needing to find that silver bullet with a new manager? Glass half empty, I know, but I don't hold out much hope for our plans. A better plan would be for every fan to don thawbs at matches from now on until it catches the attention of some Saudi Prince. Inshallah.1 point

The entitlement and expectation is of little kids at Xmas. Get it into their heads that we can't suddenly turn a switch to go from an omnishambolic mess to being a consistently competitive football club. We need to sort the club out on a small budget. It will take time, if indeed we ever get there.1 point

Wolves slink past Bristol City, plucky Leeds overcome giants Harrogate, Liverpool don’t exactly annihilate Stanley, Sunderland exit early as usual and the real City trounce Salford. Decent afternoon.1 point

I actually thought what he said was quite measured and covered most of the issues that concern the fans. Most of what he said has been said by people on here. Good to know about the external review and that Clement basically has a stay of execution which is fair given the circumstances he is working in.1 point
