  1. It was galling for me to watch these 2 teams who certainly did not outclass us, for all their big investments. In fact, but for Butland's howler we would have beaten Manure.

  2. With Martin preferring Leicester, Ancelotti preferring Brazil and Gerrerd's wife vetoing his move to Ibrox, @compo may be right after all - big Sam may be the last man standing.

  3. I’m not doubting your informant. Just very keen to know for sure that it’s the new guys who are running it and not the old.

  4. Very difficult to just speed a takeover up. These things take time and we've been told it'll be late May/June before it's done, so getting into a tizzy now is a sign of impatience. As for the new manager, it might not be fully possible just now for any number of reasons, particularly ongoing contracts and the takeover itself.

  5. Yes. It could so easily have been us.

  6. Legally they won't be able to. There will be something in place to state that any contracts over a certain value will have to be agreed by Newco, the company that will be buying the shares on behalf of the 49ers/Cavenagh.

  7. For the ancien regime to take upon itself the appointment of the new No. 1, and associated/ ancillary staff, without the agreement of the incoming owners/investors, would be monumental arrogance and stupidity, of such scale as to threaten the whole deal. I assume that the deal -or the series of deals- is done, and will kick in on a particular operative date The majority ownership will then vest in the Yanks. Thee cheers for the red, white, and blue. I have absolutely no idea who could, should, or would be the next manager - like everybody else, outside a very tight circle of people who know that careless talk costs deals.

  8. If we never had a back row full of terrible defenders Dessers would have been a hero this season , McCoist used to miss sitters like him every game but always had a solid backline that never threw goals away every week.

  12. Apologies, comment wasn't aimed at you, poorly worded. From what fan media are saying it's Stewart, Thelwall and Cavanagh.

  13. No. I just heard he was interviewed and no reason to disbelieve the person who told me. He isn't the only candidate to be have been interviewed. I've heard Frank Lampard was at Training Complex recently but his appearance there may not be linked to vacant managers role.

  16. Not on the official HP just yet, but Kristian Webster, Archie Stevens and Cole McKinnon have been released. No word on Adam Devine just yet. AFAIK, Stevens and McKinnon were highly rated ... at some stage. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

  17. We drew with Spurs (and were unlucky not to win) and only lost to a goal in injury time against Man Utd, so we're not that far away from that level. The difference between us and Man Utd reaching the final was that they got the clear penalty decision and red card against Athletic Club and we didn't.

  18. Sorry for the late answer. I doubt my niece would be interested to be honest as she is very set in her ways, and I don't know if she speaks English that good. She is the only one left in that side of her family. My brother-in-law was in the army until recently when he retired. He was on paid leave for the last years, though. His son joined the army. After a number of years, he decided to come out into civvy land. He couldn't adapt to normal work, so he approached his ex-commander if he could rejoin again as he made a mistake coming out. His commander refused to let him back in. A few weeks later, they found him hanging from a tree. He had taken his own life. I suppose that is the same in reverse.

  19. It might have been a poor final but we are not at that level we did okay in the Thursday night cup but the same lot couldn't beat Queens park nope not good enough

  20. Yeah, we would have been straight through to the group stages. That missed penalty/letting in the goal were real sliding doors moments.

  26. His last 2 years he was hardly here , coaching staff ran the team. Its madness to let him anywhere near the club. He knows he has no chance of a big job again , thats why hes desperate to get back in.

  27. They are taking full advantage of a clickbait hungry audience readily swinging from one rumour to another then back again. A week or two more or less isn't the issue. It is making the right choice and having a viable plan in place. Last summer, we knew what was coming and it wasn't good. At least this year, it is completely up in the air.

  30. It's only a pantomime if you get too absorbed in the clickbait press articles and social media. In reality, the club will be doing exactly what you said.

  33. unfortunately not Pete, the very organisation you think would protect you often fails the majority who ask for help, I've known many friends who went off the rails or seen as a problem and often kicked out of the Army, I think now they have realised that the mischievous uncontrollable behaviour taking drugs /drink is a sign for help, some also find it hard to transition from firing live ammunition to playing toy soldiers ( firing blanks) or seeing similar stuff to what your Nephew had went through, I only wish now through all the media attention on PTSD and the struggles your Nephew went through your family also that they can somehow forgive him for some of the things he put them through. It's a dark place when your going through things you have seen or witnessed. I've got PTSD and I find this Gersnet group a good way of blocking out my sometimes sombre mood. Yet there is also a part of me that has no emotional response and it is hard for me to realise when someone is hurting or I can't act the way I used to act with compassion, it’s 9/10 only when I have done something or said something then I realize my actions, i’m sure your nephew was the same Pete and he was very sorry for his out of character behaviour that you knew, sadly the War doesn't stop when we take off our uniform and our invisible wounds are never seen. All we have to do is talk and open up in which more are doing today, Have a listen to the podcasts from my m8 and if your in touch with your family ask them also to listen to it.

  34. The Famous RFC, Hopefully, this picture is the true meaning of friendship and kindness brought together by the love of our famous football club, This is indeed why Rangers are a family club! I've managed to compromise a playlist of songs I originally had and ones I didn't have. We got told when my son was older from a “ Health profession” the reason why my son Finely doesn't speak is because my wife didn't attend the lessons with the speech and language therapist 😱 needless to say that individual was told to address her own practices in which she obviously spouts to others, a written apology and a shake-up of the whole philosophy they teach to parents.
