  1. Appeal: I contest this decision of the BBC not to release the information I requested. The information is not held for the purposes of journalism, art or literature as claimed by the BBC but is held to ensure services are provided in a cost effectivemanner as specified in the BBC charter (see below) and to ensure that the public services on offer are accessible to viewers listeners and other users. Unless we know how much money is allocated it is not possible to establish reasonable accessibility for BBC licence holders. If Rangers games for example are not covered but Celtic games are (which is the case due to the BBC boycott of Rangers) it is reasonable to assume that the obligation to service listeners, viewers and users in a cost effective and accessible manner is not being met. The BBC in not disclosing the requested information are therefore confirming that either they do not have the information (therefore fail the cost effectiveness measure) or they simply wish to withhold the information because it reveals an imbalance in expenditure (therefore fails the accessibility measure). I therefore repeat my request for the information withheld by the BBC. Extract from BBC CHARTER. GENERAL OBLIGATIONS 61. Making the UK Public Services widely available (1) The BBC must do all that is reasonably practicable to ensure that viewers, listeners and other users (as the case may be) are able to access the UK Public Services that are intended for them, or elements of their content, in a range of convenient and cost effective ways which are available or might become available in the future. These could include (for example) broadcasting, streaming or making content available on- demand, whether by terrestrial, satellite, cable or broadband networks (fixed or wireless) or via the internet.

  2. Sorry to bore you again but you’re right. Dornan needs to be confronted and rebutted at all times. More power to your elbow but, metaphorically speaking, as you draw back the bowstring just make sure the arrow’s pointing at a real target.

  4. I hope Charles Kiniev stays on the forum. I think his motives were right, but just applied poorly. I've had a go at him, but on reflection I have to show some appreciation for someone who made an attempt to do something about Dornan, etc. Hang around Charles. Express your views. We all learn here on Gersnet and need all sorts of members, views, and opinions.

  5. My hazy rather drunk recollection is the guy was trying to kick through the ball and use that momentum to sneakily kick Tav at the same time and then try and square up to him. I saw it as an attack and it nearly started a rammy in the pub I was in between me and a Hibs fan. So these incidents don’t just affect the immediate environment but they can lead to knock on effects. It’s grossly irresponsible journalism to describe it as anything other than an attack. When the BBC described the Cup Final as exuberance and failed to nail the guy who hit Wallace with a golf Brolly they are complicit in setting an agenda of violent attacks on players being acceptable behaviour, which other fans then mimic. It’s clear that Rangers players are deemed acceptable targets by many fans and the standards applied in the media to incidents involving Neil Lennon, Steve Clarke and Scott Sinclair are different to those standards applied to what is now a lengthening list of Rangers players who have been attacked. Now some on the BBC have condemned it, others are ambiguous and the usual suspects say nothing or apply weak editorial standards. BBC today said they couldn’t talk about it as an attack as it was a police matter. That is bollox. They rightly condemned the Lennon incident by the Hearts thug as an attack whilst the police were investigating it. It always amazes me incidentally that stick insects think they would get the better of a professional athlete in such circumstances. If Tav has leathered him he would have got a red card (true it’s in the rules) and he’d probably be facing a charge. He did well to hold back.

  6. We have a better squad. We have finally beaten the yahoos and we did quite well in Europe. For me, there's a lack of bottle. We have been all over Hibs for the best part of three matches but haven't beaten them once. We seem unable to kill matches off. We need more leaders in the team. We need to have a shot instead of constantly passing the buck. We need more heart and more desire. We're not far away and two or three good signings could make a world of difference.

  7. What an opening statement!!! You had my support, but no longer. You clearly have no idea on how to win friends or influence people, and to come on and make such a statement about some of the forum members, and then move into a very long rant (expecting those same members to read it), just shows how out of touch you are. I won't take as much as a second to read or support anything you do in future. That's disappointing all round, but I hope you learn from it.

  8. Notwithstanding the obvious refereeing howlers, we once again do the same things and expect a different result. I've said it now 7 or 8 times this season ...... crossing from wide and/or deep positions DOES NOT work. It will occasionally result in chances or goals if the cross is perfect but that's rare. The cross needs to be a cut back from the edge of the 18 yard line (near the goal line). In the attacking third, when we have someone wide, there is no one that runs into that space to receive it and cut it back. WHY? What is our game plan, because I don't understand it. If you watch our better performances against Celtic, Aberdeen, etc, we have created our chances and goals from an inside forward cutting it back to an on rushing player or by drilling it across to Morelos. I'm so frustrated watching us at the moment because this is easy to fix. Why is the coaching team allowing the same 20+ deep/wide crosses each game and not changing it? We play some lovely football, and it can be a pleasure to watch, only for it to be wasted with this repetitive approach to deliveries into the box. All teams now know what to do. They put a player in front of Morelos and one behind him to reduce his chances of getting on the end of the cross, because they know that's what's coming. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix this SG because we are so close to being title contenders, but it's this one single issue that is costing us points. I know nothing about the game compared to the coaching team so I just don't know why they don't change it. There must be a plan, but I have no clue what it is.

  9. First 45 minutes we were brilliant and even breathtaking. Seen a lot of negativity but keep putting pieces in the jigsaw and we’re absolutely going in the right direction under SG.

  11. Accusing folk of being boring and hardly worthy of your attention but doing it in such a long winded post doesn’t reflect clarity of purpose but it sure does show a fine sense of irony. We now are lead to believe he knew the petition was useless except to stimulate debate amongst fellow Bears. If you feck something up it’s usually better to hold your hands up, identify the error and either fix it or learn for next time rather than attack your target audience. Its a pity because a petition handled properly was a good idea. James Dornan is one of the last people who should be sitting on a panel of elected MSPs trying to eradicate sectarianism. Apart from anything else he’s thick and not competent to do the job, in fact I’d question his competence to do any serious job.

  12. One main difference I see is last season I couldn't believe we came away with 3 points (Aberdeen, Partick etc.), whereas this season I can't believe we don't come away with 3 points (Aberdeen, Hibs x2, Motherwell etc.).

  13. I thought it was a decent comeback and it’s a shame to miss the point of this by being over-sensitive. Good luck to him and any efforts he’s willing to make to expose the republican rhat Dornan.

  14. I'm still furious. We've never been as good as we are now -- since the journey -- and I firmly believe if we were more clinical and stopped these stupid periods of complacency, then we'd be top. The number of stupid points this team has dropped is criminal. We are in need of more attacking options. Once again, when it finally looks like we've cut a decent gap between ourselves and the rest of the pack, we let them back in.

  15. Do you know why I used the.... Maybe you should......line ? It was a sarcastic response to you using the "Maybe they should..." line in the post I was replying to. In other words, look in the mirror and repeat your latest sermon. Now that you have recognised the right of X to donate their money as they see fit and it has nothing to do with child abuse, you now invoke the 'yahoosympathiser' line........ Akin to a man stumbling backwards grabbing hold of fresh air. I can understand why people on here might be reluctant to praise Celtic supporters for doing anything, fine. I wouldn't have bothered myself, until I saw someone had posted an article, which got the customary and reprehensible call for the genocide of all the Palestinian people from the usual suspect, followed by irrelevant and inaccurate comparisons. The Palestinians are human beings who are heavily disadvantaged at various levels and good on ANYONE or GROUP who want to donate money to them. At the same time, there is no pressure on anyone to do so and if they have a problem with it, they could at least attempt to be civil and accurate.

  16. I am not sure how Ryan Kent got man of the match tbh. Kamara for me by a country mile. After Gray(Grey?) got his yellow card (that should have been purple) nobody tried to run at him again. Another game you were just waiting for them to score you could see it coming from a mile off.

  17. Dear Sir, Please can you advise me how much of BBC Scotland budget was allocated to cover ‘away matches’ in the group stage Europa League matches involving Celtic and Rangers in football season 2018/19? For example how much money was spent on fees to subcontracted staff, hotel and travel expenses including subsistence, overtime, additional broadcasting costs for technical and operational necessities, hiring of equipment or facilities. I do not need the figure broken down by expense type but an overall total sum of money or budget allocated to those matches will suffice.

  20. The fact they drew today makes this result even more unacceptable. Can't believe we didn't win with the chances we had first half.

  21. We should be so much closer to them or maybe even in front. They are not a great side. In a way I'm more annoyed now than I was last night at our failure to win

  25. The lad cleary punched Tav, albeit it was a weak effort. The press in this country are a joke. A nasty word in a song is seeming more distressing than someone smacking you - which is, of course, absolute bollocks.

  26. I commend you on your actions. Until Dornan becomes an irrelevance, we have to keep pointing out his hypocrisy and his obvious agenda (and that of his entire party). There's a long way to go...

  29. Bottomline, wrt Bill's statement ...saying no one would miss the Palestinians is not the same as advocating or calling for genocide. There you go preaching again.

  30. YOU are missing the point Bill. As a support we should be rallying together to fight against people like Dornan, the BBC, etc, but that is only ever diminished with an opening statement that insults a forum. It's stupid and self-defeating, and only further reinforces my view that we are unable to unite in the same way the 'other mob' is. We will continually find reasons to divide our support and ostracise them because of their political and religious beliefs. It's crazy and frustrating. I wish we could all see that. I am happy to support anyone who takes aim at our detractors, but not those who insult or divide our support. Unfortunately we have too many of them.

  31. It was an opening statement & in effect a closing statement i don’t really care what others may think or believe i read through the thread on the petition, it doesn’t bother me that some used it to further their own agendas, as Rangers supporters, I really don’t think it’s neccesary to point out that the man in question does not hold any of us in any particular regard whatsoever. Im not seeking personal support, nor do i intend to contribute to your forum, as I said, like this sectarianism group, the petition itself was just a tool, I don’t care what it actually amounts to. It fulfilled its intended purpose & it will continue to do so, whether you agree or not with it, or me, it will generate discussion, & that’s all it was ever meant to do, if certain members of your forum choose to make an issue based on the petitions title instead of just recognising & acknowledging the basic reasoning behind it, that’s up to them. If, as Rangers fans, we havent recognised by now that the man in question & his party mean us no goodwill whatsoever, well, we’ll deserve whatever we get if we stand by & say & do nothing. Keep people talking, & by extension, thinking. Leave your personal opinions on others at the door & focus on those who mean your club harm instead of those who have it at heart. Infighting is pointless, support groups like the VB, we’re all Rangers supporters, our goals should be one & the same. Have a good day

  34. We are very close to having a cracking team. SG is taking us forward, very frustrating the amount of draws we have had this season, but we are getting there. Nobody believed we would win the title this season but we are getting closer.

  36. The triangular passing can look good but unless we do more with the possession in the last third it will count for little. Bottomline is that we still miss the creative link between middle to front and it often becomes very apparent in games against top six sides. As it stands, we need someone (usually Morelos, sometimes Tav/Kent) to play out of their skin and make things happen. That doesn't always happen and hence our results are inconsistent. We don't get beat much but we do draw a lot of games against sides we should be beating on balance of play. However, balance of play without end product won't get us anywhere. Our squad is what it is and I wouldn't expect much to change in what is left of this season. However, we are capable of the odd 'almost perfect performance' and this is what we need to bring to the table in the Scottish Cup.

  37. Neither steak nor mince but lashings of tripe I have said it before we cant seem to kill teams off after we go in front the players seemed clueless as did our manager things need to improve and they all must be told in no uncertain manner.

  38. Aberdeen will have watched that and thought, "Even if they score first, they will bottle it.". How many times have we went ahead and then lost confidence/impetus/momentum/interest. It is becoming very frustrating. I'd sell Tav and get rid of Halliday in a heartbeat. Never winners. Jack annoyed me tonight when we desperately needed a goal and he got involved with the Hibs players after 90s minutes was up. Not the correct mentality at all.
