  1. The only way to make this relevant is for us to do our business tomorrow night. Not fuck it up like a certain shower across this city. Come on Rangers.

  2. You are absolutely Joking. Katic was immense tonight and Goldson was a bombscare on two occasions that nearly cost goals. in the 2nd minute Goldson was poor in letting Anderson shoot just past the post. That could have been a game changer. Later McGregor had a great save with his legs after Goldson failed to cut out a cross. Apart from that Goldson was solid but in every game he has bombscare moments.

  3. Our midfield is in complete control here again. We seem to be happy to play the ball out of any trouble and every one of our players seems happy to take and send the ball even in the tightest of situations.

  4. Have been very impressed with him tonight. Perhaps has to work on the defensive aspects of his game but no doubts that creatively and offensively he's more than useful.

  5. Fuck Aberdeen. They have been in our rear-view mirror since the day Gerrard was appointed

  6. What it tells Halliday, Pollster and the youngsters is that they aren't good enough for our midfield currently and that at Rangers we don't accept mediocrity. If we need to, we can go out and bring in better players so either improve or don't expect to get a game. I don't think Halliday or Pollster had any inclination anyway that they'd be good enough for the midfield. They are backup wingbacks. Our youngsters need to recalibrate their ideas as to what it takes to make it at Rangers now. We are on the rise again and if they want to be in our first team, they have to now work even harder to get there. Gerrard has always said that if they're good enough they are old enough. There is a pathway for anyone who is good enough. The simple fact is that they are not yet.

  7. na we shouldn't be focusing on them, they're not important. We just need to focus on ourselves.

  8. Summary is we're now just 2 games away from another bite of the Europa pie. I think the majority view around here pre season was that two consecutive bites at that pie was perhaps a bridge too far. Well here we are again and I suspect the majority view now is that it's within our grasp to get there. If we do it I wont be so concerned about results there. Yes points make us even more money and boost the co-efficient but just getting there is a very welcome and much needed financial boost. But the league has to be the priority. I would rather lose in any Europa group match than 3 points to anybody at all on the Sunday. The league gives us a potential bite at the Champions League pie with £40 million up for grabs and perhaps up to another £10 million to be made from home games in the way of gate money etc. Plus getting there couldn't do our attractiveness to sponsors any harm.

  9. That's more like it. I also thought both centre backs played well. If anything any weakness was more apparent in our fullbacks. For whatever reason, Tav still hasn't fired on all cylinders yet but is slowly getting there, while Flanagans is never going to spend time breaking down the left wing and putting over crosses.

  10. I though Davis did well at times but faded badly as the game entered the final quarter and was caught in possession more times than is healthy. As for Jack, the loss of control of the ball after he went off probably suggests he's currently the keystone of our midfield, not Davis.

  11. Great goal; during the game I didn't really notice Jack's excellent tackle that won possession initially. A goal with three assists.

  12. Only saw bits of the game, excellent result. My main takeaway is Ojo again. 2 assists and another goal. I’m going to continue my Ojo goal count and confirm that his total of 4 goals now puts him only two behind the full season total of the man he replaced Kent. And it’s the 15th of August ? Ojo has added goal threat to our team, he doesn’t play as a winger he plays as a forward and we badly needed that. And he’s by no means the finished article, he can be wasteful. But he’s finding the back of the net often enough despite that. Katic. This seems to be a recurring theme and I’m beginning to think we need Helander fit asap and Gerrard knew exactly what he was doing signing him. Ok Flanagan takes a lot of the blame for the goal conceded, slack pass that allowed them in behind him. But the inexperience and poor decision making involved in deciding to leave your man open in the 6 yard box while you go and attempt to block a cross from out wide, an almost impossible task anyway, no wonder Goldson was furious. The “Katic is our best CB” myth needs to end, he’s a good player that we need to develop. Goldson is our best centre back and we need to get Helander in the team because Katic is making costly mistakes in every game right now. He gets off with a lot of them but he’s cost us several goals already this season.

  13. Well done Rangers!!! Job done and onto the next round. No one will fancy taking us on these days. We look lethal.

  14. Kiddydale St opinion. Midtjylland are the worst Danish team the poster has ever seen and Cluj are miles better. Quickly tempered by another with the insertion of some actual reality. They're melting down over our results as well as their own.

  15. I`m usually a bit hesitant with new players, but if he keeps on like he does of late, we should start putting money aside for Ojo. He and Morelos have been a treat, with Arfield doing muich of the built up. Kamara, Davis and Jack totally boss the midfield ... again. These are the nights when your breast bursts with pride being a Bluenose ...

  18. I think this will be a great match tonight, they have to have a real go at us, we need to be on it from the start and I can see a few goals in this one!

  19. A Champions League team? In the two seasons out of six that they made it through, they managed to win once in 12 attempts. They lost 5-0, 7-0 and 7-1

  21. Someone must be! Currently we have 7 first team players who can play in these 3 positions. Aribo, Davis, Jack and then Kamara as the first backup and Docherty the second backup. Halliday and Polster offer emergency cover only and primarily cover full back. I thought that was just right in terms of cover. If Andy King comes in where does he end up in the pecking order? Surely he doesn’t jump ahead of Kamara but how about Docherty? King is 30 and is currently on 38k and missed the second the second half of last season due to injury. I don’t get it. He can’t be fit enough to jump ahead of Docherty surely, but how much of his 38k wages are we paying if he’s 6th choice? Not sure how happy I am about him jumping Kamara or Docherty in the line. A lot of questions to be answered here.

  23. Ballymena hi! We should receive a good welcome there and of course NI football is doing okay currently, champions Linfield went through to the next qualifying round of the Champions League last night. To be fair they were 3-2 up at home with 7 minutes to go, only a pub team would throwaway a lead from there.

  25. I think the chances of him departing in this window have greatly diminished. Everybody knows the EPL is what he wants and that particular option is now gone till January. And come January presuming we're in a title chase I don't want any key players being allowed to go. He's only 23 and he's contracted till 2023 so we hold all the aces. He can wait another year and if he can continue in this kind of form chances are he might get a step higher up the EPL ladder than he would right now. He's been getting better year upon year since he arrived but I truly think his development has kicked up a gear or two under Gerrard.

  26. I actually found tonight incredibly frustrating, at times some of our inter play was brilliant , we can take the ball in tight and play our way out so easily it beautiful to watch , but when we sprung forward our final passes time after time were either under or over played . I know I’m being ultra picky and the Danes are a decent team but we play slack like that later on and we are getting punished for it . Thought both CBS were excellent , don’t know really what all the fuss is over Goodson ,thought he was tremendous tonight and big Nico was excellent also , poorest performers imho were both full backs , but you can’t play brilliant every game . Last point , if Ojo can find a bit of dig and aggression he will go on to be some player , just feel he needs to want it more if that makes sense .

  27. Davis is excellent at times but also very frustrating at times that he takes the option to slow the game down when a quick pass is screaming out to punish the opponents..

  28. That was a poor goal to give away but you can tell our players are back into first gear now. Hopefully Docherty and Jones help to up the pace but I don't care now. We just need to get through this with no injuries or any more bookings.

  32. I thought that was a really good press conference from them. Their manager was very clear and focussed, as was the captain. They know all the pressure is on them and didn't play any mind games with those questions and answers. Make no mistake that they are here to get a result and we will need to play well tonight. Having witnessed how their club and fans have acted before and after the last game, I have so much respect for this club and I hope they do really well, after being knocked out tonight of course. I hope we welcome their fans with open arms, and allow the players to do battle in an excellent atmosphere.

  33. According to a Celtic supporting mate of mine, Rodgers is sending King, sorry 'Agent King' to Rangers to disrupt us and cause unrest.

  34. As far as I know he is an attacking midfielder and Gerrard said he wanted 2 men for every position so you have: Kamara-Jack Davis- Docherty Aribo- King I can understand it and think it is a good move if he is a good player. He played in the Leicester team that won the championship and the EPL so he can't be that bad. PS I would have proffered Konte.

  35. So if we get it in Scotland, Ross County, Motherwell and Hamilton will need to erect big screen, in order to meet requirements? Personally, I view big screens alongside post-goal music ...Americanisation of our sport.
