  1. It's not to excuse our fans but maybe Kilmarnock should also put up a sensible barrier to separate fans from the disabled facility, or provide a structure that's robust enough to offer better protection. I sometimes think no one in Scottish football gives a second's thought to the needs of disabled fans, whatever their allegiance. It's a bloody disgrace.

  2. The roof was constructed purely to provide shelter from the elements for the wheelchair users below a purpose it has served well and one I have been thankful for on many occasions, it was not constructed as a dance floor nor as a platform to bounce up and down on. No idiots on the roof and the roof doesn't collapse simples.

  3. Of course it's a fair question. Some managers will react differently in some situations. I'd imagine that yesterday Gerrard will already have went through his players many times regarding our tempo and loss of shape. He didn't get much of a reaction, if any. As such, perhaps he felt taking a step back and letting them sort it out themselves was a better tactic and, to be fair, a few players finally stepped up when the going got tough in those last ten mins. He was also fairly clever after the match, choosing to praise the players publicly and enjoying the last minute winner. Privately though I'd fancy he was raging with the performance and I wouldn't like to be a Rangers player this morning when they review the match as very few of them got pass marks.

  4. Looking at our opponents and potential opponents last seasons European results; The Danes (I’m not attempting to spell that every time!) entered the same competition in QR3 last year and comfortably saw off Welsh side New Saints 2-0 in Wales and 3-1 at home for a 5-1 aggregate victory. In QR4 they played Malmo and drew 2-2 in Sweden before losing the home tie 2-0 to lose out on group stage action. This will be their first European action this season. Legia started 18/19 in the Champions League qualifiers in QR1against Cork, winning 1-0 away and 3-0 at home, then going on to play Slovakian side Spartak Trnava, losing the home leg 2-0, winning the away leg 1-0 to go out 2-1 on aggregate and drop down into the Europa where they played Dudelange from Luxembourg, losing the home leg 2-1and drawing the away leg 2-2 to go out 4-3 on aggregate. Worth noting they got red cards in both legs of that tie. This season they started in QR1 beating Europa of Gibraltar 3-0 at home after a 0-0 first leg on the rock. In R2 they beat KuPS 1-0 at home and drew 0-0 away. Atrimitos played QR3 of Europa League last year where they lost to Dinimo Brest of Belarus 4-3 in the away leg, and drew 1-1 at home to be eliminated at the first time of asking, picking up a red card as well along the way. This season they started in R2, beating Slovak side Streda 2-1 away and 3-2 at home.

  5. 100% agree, it's only when Rangers fans do it there is total uproar. All clubs & SFA should be doing more for disabled fans.

  6. Thing is there's similar footage floating about of Rangers fans doing the exact same at Pittodrie. I wish people would realise there is no moral high ground on this issue it affects all wheelchair fans irrespective of what colour scarf they wear.

  7. Well he has only been here a short time, we have improved with more to come. Still hard to believe we have SG as Rangers manager, he is driven and I'm sure we will keep improving. I never pay attention to a managers reactions during the game, don't want him ranting and raving, kicking things and snarling it has zero affect on players/results, ripping the players a new arsehole in the changing rooms is where it should be done.

  8. This might be something that's been tried in the past but would it be possible to run a MOTM poll for (say) 24 hours after every game. It would be interesting to see which players consistently emerge as top performers over the course of a season.

  9. Like deja vu from last season Frankie, inabiliy to keep a clean sheet and lacking inspiration in the final 3rd time, sorry to sound negtive folks, but thats the way I saw it.

  10. Really p****d off on twitter today, all I see is Rangers fans trying to blame Kilmarnock or somehow pointing out that invading the pitch isn’t as bad as child abuse. By that logic any behaviour short of murder would be acceptable! Those 2 or 3 guys on the disabled roof deserve a lifetime ban & possible police action imo, pitch invaders maybe a year. If anything completely sums up Twitter though, its folk making excuses for behaviour from their ‘side’ while feigning complete outrage & calling for action when the other ‘side’ do the exact same thing. And not just football fans, but also politics, etc..

  11. I know for a fact they were fully aware of exactly what they were dancing on just before they landed on me and my friends, how none of us were seriously injured is simply miraculous. Behaviour such as that has been highlighted to both Kilmarnock stewards and Rangers security for years, they were fully aware of our concerns but did absolutely nothing to address them other than patronise us.

  12. Forlanssister, In total agreement. 1. It should all be reported. 2. They should all face the consequences, lives are being endangered.

  13. I think we also need to recognise that Gerrard is human too and his teams will achieve more if he also feels supported and trusted.

  14. Not if they ran on the pitch it's not. Fans know fine well they are not allowed to leave the stand, there is absolutely no excuse for dozens of fans to go spilling onto the pitchside out of the stand. If some fans cant control themselves when we score a goal, they shouldnt attend.

  15. We have really hit the jackpot here. While Legia if I recall have had some decent Euro results in the last few years, compared to who we could have got, both in rounds 3 and 4, we have a great chance to go through to the group stages again, with the financial benefits which are necessary to continue our rebuilding. I'm delighted with this draw!!

  16. A life ban for someone celebrating with our own players is a bit extreme.

  17. Thanks Frankie. The last thing I wanted to do was start a thread that went into being anti Gerrard, I think the word "assessing" is fair. It was maybe a knee jerk reaction and old school thought from me thinking he should have been up ranting on the touchline - perhaps passion got in the way. I also say perhaps Gerrard believed in his players to react and win it which we did and obviously his winning reaction was the same as all of us.

  18. What our fans did yesterday on the roof of the disabled section was pathetic. Absolute fuckin cunts. Killie should charge Ranngers and Rangers should bill the fools for the repair and then get them done with a vandalism. Morons.

  19. I feel that at such a late stage he's actually doing the right thing by sitting down and taking what little time there was prior to play resuming to think is there any way I can tweak this situation to salvage it with such little time left. Or do I continue as we are still trusting they're capable of pull something out right to the end. These decisions can't be efficiently reasoned if standing on a touchline ranting.

  21. Very difficult one today with no stand out performances. I see Tav & Barasic getting peters on here but I thought both were decent enough, the 2 CBs were involved in both our goals and not at fault for their goal so have both done their job. Davis had a decent first half, Jack same, but both were poor in 2nd half. Aribo & Ojo were the 2 poorest today for me, Arfield made tons of good runs, got a goal but found it hard to really get on the ball in good areas (11 man defence has a lot to do with that) and Morelos was a threat when he wasn’t getting booted, shoved, elbowed etc all over the park. Subs were ineffective but didn’t have much game time. Probably give it to Goldson just for the attitude to get to that ball for the winner despite being fouled.

  23. "it has to be said". Above is the phrase Jonathon Sutherland uses on Sportscene as a preamble to accusations against Rangers supporters. Yesterday's match at Kilmarnock has been BBC Scotland's main news item today, even surpassing claims by a Trade Unionist that the new Edinburgh Sick Kids hospital might be partly torn down, before opening. I have no doubt the BBC Scotland newsroom will blame Rangers supporters for problems in the £150 million hospital's ventilation and drainage as soon as a Sub-Editor can write, 'shoddy H-u-n workers attempt to asphyxiate and drown sick kids'? The lunch time bulletin reported Police Scotland have made four arrests. The Justice System has set it's wheels in motion and that's how it should be. I hope the wheelchair bound supporters inside the destroyed shelter have given the necessary statements. Sub Judice prevents me from saying more at this time. Last week, in all pre-season discussions the PQ Gang Hut to a man chorused, 'all the pressure is on Rangers'. Trial by Sportscene served up a spoonful or two of pressure, then the newsroom sent a camera crew and interviewer to the wilds of Ayrshire to deliver pressure and two veg'. The turnip for the books was Killie's Chief Executive, Phyllis McLeish. A clearly anxious Phyllis was dry swallowing as she looked down the camera, it appeared Auntie Beeb was running interference on her Prosecco time? However, Phyllis delivered, she blamed Rangers players for crowd disruption, "they were all running towards the Rangers support", after notching a ninetieth minute winner. Further, none of this was Killie's fault, "Kilmarnock FC cannot be blamed". BBC Scotland did not inform the viewers whether they had approached Rangers? Well, I don't know. Are Rangers players allowed to celebrate last minute winners? We know that Rangers players are not allowed to celebrate mid second half winners, Andy Halliday was red carded for pumping his fist in the middle of the Cappielow centre circle. You see, if Rangers players are allowed to celebrate last minute clinchers, then the BBC manufactured pressure cooker must be removed from the hob. At the end of May, Killie defeated Rangers with a 93rd minute penalty. Brophy slotted it home and wheeled away to the corner of the Main and Moffat Stands, where the Killie fans were wildly celebrating. February this year, Scott Brown scored a 90th minute winner at Rugby Park in front of ra Sellik supporters in the Chadwick. He jumped the hordings and embraced several of the dozens of pitch invading Bhoys. Trial by Sportscene cleared these actions, emotional game, adrenaline fueled, ..... etc. It has to be said - Killie defeated Rangers in the first game after the winter break. The Chief Executive, Phyllis McLeish celebrated inappropriately. The wife of Alan, owner of Killie's main sponsor, the QTS group; was stopped by the police and breathalysed. She was twice the legal limit. The pressure is on BBC Scotland to explain their grim determination to elevate a sports item to top of their news agenda. Particularly, when similar last minute winners that have inspired pitch invasions have not made it on to general news, let alone top item. It has to be said.

  24. I think it's been mentioned on here by some that even Rangers disabled facilities are quite poor, I just seen a view from that shed where they were put at Kilmarnock and it's woeful, no fan should be treated like that, never mind disabled fans. I personally don't think these fans should be banned for life, some games yes and warned for future behavior but not a lifetime ban. I'm not defending them it was their fault and should be punished and thankfully no one was badly injured but they didn't mean it come on, lots of fans didn't get in until half time, hassled by stewards and police outside as their ticket system failed, emotions were running high, first league game of the season, maybe put some alcohol into the mix with a last minute goal minutes after you think 3 points are gone, these things happen, fans do daft things in the heat of the moment, I'm sure they regret it now!

  30. I would have voted Jack but due to the changes I've opined about over in the match thread he wasn't effective at all in the second half. I suspect that if we'd sort out our shape properly, Jack may well be man of the match most weeks. There's something different about him now. He's much more confident and obviously sees himself as an attacking midfielder which he appears to be well suited to. He also has been given the confidence and licence to make direct passes and take more shots which makes him more unpredictable and effective. He's someone that has gone under the radar but I suspect that won't be for long. p.s. I voted Alfie because I love seeing him in that form, bossing defenders and causing chaos in their ranks.

  32. If he’s not sold by Thursday, we’ll get him! Especially after our last two performances. Would assume it has to be a permanent signing - I think £5m would do it and financially structured to help us manage to seal the deal. C’mon King, Allen, Gerrard - let’s do this!

  33. There's little basis for criticism of Goldson who I thought had a decent enough game. Of the defenders, Barasic continues to irritate ... how many times did he receive the ball out wide in a forward position only to routinely play it backwards? The only time Barasic seems willing to plat a forward pass is when he's pithing ten yards of his own bye line. He must have so much more to contribute but doesn't look like he has the confidence meantime to give it. And our captain has yet to show any kind of form. If anything worried me it was our apparent inability to adapt and cope with Killie when they changed to a more expansive game.

  34. Either way it was stupid behaviour and now it's headlines that could have been easily avoided if they had just stayed in the stand. This cult of "look at me, I'm an uber fan" is silly. You're not an uber fan. You are just an idiot

  35. Goldson was certainly the better of the four defenders today but we leaned far too much on him for passing when Davis and Aribo should have been doing much more.
