Even with the number of players missing with injuries at moment, we should have been able to beat Livingston yesterday with the players we did have. I just wish the manager would think about varying it now & then. Everything is too low tempo & predictable4 points

This is a perfect storm of the Board failing to spend big on the team, Wilson failing to deliver the first team quality we required, retaining players too long and van Bronkhorst being tactically inept and completely uninspiring. The team is dire, they have lost heart, are unfit and not even going through the motions. Those who do care are flogged until they drop and played while injured. Meanwhile others can't get off the bench. Roofe looked a class apart when he came on the other night and he literally got minutes yesterday. Wright showed he was up for it and never got off the bench in the next game. The manager is hopeless.3 points

https://t.co/lfysadjx1l Rangers are a mess and Ross Wilson is at the centre of it. The relationship with the fans is at an all-time low. By Jason Soutter of b3653 points

I really think that squad is fine, although I would want another #8 or two, and a winger. When I look at the different positions, I think there's good quality there. They're not 'old', either. It's only Davis and Arfield from the midfield that are old. The defenders are around 30, which is not 'old' for defenders, and it's not as if there are no younger back-ups, there. The issue is form; too many players out of form. But what happened to the old adage 'form is temporary...'? Form is mostly down to the manager, IMO.3 points

He's not the "biggest cause", but certainly the recruitment has not been good enough. It's still on GvB for failing to utilise the players properly.2 points

Good article but not really highlighting anything we didn't know. But it does lay out the facts and makes horrific reading.2 points

Managers are now insecure beings, knowing that they will be sacked sooner rather than later. They surround themselves with their "own team" and will demand new players be brought in no matter what situation they take over. Can't blame them, some of them are being sacked after circa 30 games in charge. Currently, only being in a ministerial role in the government is less secure employment opportunity.....2 points

One hopeful bit of news is that Alex Lowry got another 45 minutes in for the B team yesterday. Should be on the first team bench and getting minutes prior to the WC.2 points

I'd sack GvB, Makaay, Philips and Boschaart. I'd keep Vos and Bowley. Approach Knutsen, who only has a year left on his contract. We've got Sands and Tillman on loan with an option to buy which could be discarded and the money used to sign Knutsen. I don't think we need a huge rebuild. I think a good manager gets more out of this team. If there really is no money - which I don't believe, because we just qualified for the CL and sold £30m worth of talent and haven't spent it all on transfers - I would give the reigns to Dave Vos. Milsom and Culshaw are now free.2 points

What they don't have in skill is made up for in good old fashioned endevour to win , the thing that's missing at Ibrox.2 points

Perhaps he should have but don’t you think we’re pushing it a bit having a 40 year old keeper? He’s a stopgap because we never recruited properly last summer2 points

Nope, far too scared to watch them. It’s going to be a hard enough watch midweek without giving myself more sleepless nights before then!1 point

The fhilth hate it, already, and those two Muppets Sutton and Hartson declared, independently (obvs) that Pederasty FC had beaten both Hertz and the VAR man. It helped us by ensuring a red card was, rightly, dished out to a Livvy player. All good, then.1 point

I note it being reported elsewhere that our erstwhile Chairman threatened to put us into adminstration unless his loan was repaid, the one with tge 8% coupon iirc. I'm sure he had the clubs best interests at heart though.1 point

That is a great article and, personally, I gather from it that Wilson is the biggest cause of our on field problems so must carry the can. for them.1 point

They had more than 10 years to stay financially ahead of us but kept bombing in Europe and now they crow on about being in CL.Ah well we at least were their beneficiaries!!!!1 point

Should not have needed VAR regards sending off it was clearly a red from where I sit and referee got it SO WRONG.1 point

I'd hope most managers have a bit more self belief than that and don't use hashtags to make points. 😀1 point

Dyche. Some basic Walter-style football with a bit of discipline. After he’s steadied the ship and perhaps put a couple of torpedoes into celtic, that’s the time to bring in some young, pop-eyed, long-haired continental genius to ruin it all sgain.1 point

If I am a manager with a decent reputation I wouldn't want the job until I could bring players in and overhaul a stale squad #summer1 point

The board have very much got the right ideas but in part, uncontrollable circumstances have made it more complicated. Then there is the nature of football. Form, injuries, mistakes, poor judgement, bad recruitment, etc. Then of course there is our main rival, who are financially ahead of us and turned round what was an implosion to title win within 12 months. We should have consolidated on 55 and got on top for several seasons but we let it slip too easily. They won't. To reverse our, what is becoming an implosion will be more challenging due to budget. It is a time when asset strippers might see an opportunity.1 point

That could be a possibility if we have "banked" the money required to buy Sands and / or Tillman when then loan deals expire. If we had money, why wasn't it spent when Champions League qualification was secured? We all knew that there were positions that required strengthening, but instead of buying, we sold / sent players out on loan. If we di have money, why were there a string of interviews only a few short weeks ago telling us that the reported transfer fees / structure and CL monies were incorrect and that we don't have much spare cash lying around? This board are notorious for sending out mixed messages that have came home and bitten them on the arse, it's hard to determine what is the truth and what isn't. The AGM and release of the annual accounts will be crucial and will leave the board nowhere to hide.1 point

Head from an ex-pat in Australia that we were offered the Australia International keeper in the summer but decided to keep McGregor. Maybe he has some incriminating photos of someone 😉1 point

Not sure if this has been mentioned but the manager was asked about Robbie McCrories new contract and would he be giving him game time as a result. He said along the lines of no it was a football operations decision to renew. He was asked last week about rumours of a Ryan Jack extension he said he was not aware of any extension talks with any of the squad right now. take from that what you will but seems like a disconnect to me. I still believe something has occurred post PSV and he is working his ticket.1 point

Chasing the European dream by throwing cash you don't have at it has been done before. It doesn't end well. Right now, we are struggling to find enough cash to chase the Scottish title. For a generation, we've become accustomed for the club to run at a substantial loss. To be sustainable comes with the pain of operating within a budget but the comfort of knowing the club is safe.1 point

Opposition only have to keep their shots low and hard. McGregor ain't getting to them.... whilst he'll save most efforts above the waist. One of several flaws in squad management during the summer. It'd be interesting to know exactly how the McGregor extension came about, when and what the ideas were about a replacement when at the SC Final, it looked that he was gone.1 point

We probably got a point from VAR, correctly upgrading a yellow to red. If you are a Motherwell fan, not so good. They should have had a last minute penalty #stonewaller Will never be perfect. But will reduce poor decisions. It ain't going away so get used to it.1 point

Whilst Kings public utterances are certainly more consumer friendly a look under under the bonnet may result in a different conclusion. Personally I'd opt a strong well known high profile person from the business or peferably political spheres. As much as it grates the Fritzl doppelganger appointing Dr Death was an extremely astute piece of business. Like you I'd love an open and frank AGM but such beasts don't appear to exist anywhere nowadays.1 point

I get what you're saying I really do. However I view the current Board as just another stage of our recovery I don't view them as permanent fixtures, they like players should be viewed as organic constantly changing in a sort of evolution rather an endless revolutions. Obviously the pandemic and it's consequences drastically altered what would have been the Boards plans (I concede the same applies to all clubs). I think part of the current anti Board sentiment can be laid at their own door as it was never fully explained just how big a mess the club was in every single department something that goes back to the days of our old friend Murray. That's not an excuse for the current Boards shortcomings however I think we can all agree compared to their predecessors they're relatively minor and certainly don't threaten the clubs very existance like the 3 previous regimes. I'm inclined to lean towards better the devil you know for now, change will come in the Boardroom it's foolish to argue otherwise but surely we need to make sure the baton is passed on to the right people as we all know the consequences of what can unfold. I share the same frustrations as everyone else at our regression under GvB which is undoubtedly rolling towards the inevitable conclussion. What I don't share is the clamour for return of King the notion of him wanting to invest more in Rangers is hilarious or the belief that there's a sugar daddy willing to pump £m's into a Scottish club or even that some consortium of investors led by Ms Fox will lead us to glory. I suspect you feel pretty much the same. I honestly think that the covid crap not occured the Boardroom would indeed have a different complexion that it currently has but by the same token I'm grateful that they didn't all bugger off and try and get their money back and even of them stayed and dug deep just yo kerp us going. I'm certain your wish for change will be fulfilled at what rate that change will arrive I honestly don't have a clue but it will.1 point

Whilst it's incumbent that we keep an eye on the Boardroom I'm reluctant to compare what we have now to the Murray regime. For starters they're playing with their own money not the banks, there is no one with an overwhelming dominating shareholding, they are in the main Rangers fans and contrary to what people think they actually get it. They won't take us down the same road as Murray and we should at least thank them for that. I was way to late to start questioning Murray, it took the spunking of £12m (of someone else's money naturally) before I realised it was only going to end one way. I totally get where you're coming from and don't dispute that concern is genuinely held. I myself have felt the wrath of the masses for not running with the herd, it can put you in a lonely place.1 point

Point 1 - so what? King is sniping because he wants his money back and there's been a fall-out along the way but that's always going to happen with business owners with massive egos. Point 2 - do we know that for sure? If he had been able to spend more, would he have turned down the AV job? I doubt it. Point 3 - One director has resigned over the past couple of years, and he previously resigned and came back. That happens all the time when businessmen feel they can't contribute meaningfully due to time. I'm not sure what the issue is. Points 4-7 - the board talked to a party who expressed interest in the club and then said no. Again, it'll be something that happens all the time, and we mostly wouldn't hear about it. We heard about it this time due to the behaviour of third party acting in an amateurish way. Hardly the fault of the board. We didn't lose in the US courts, did we? Point 8 - the board may be safeguarding the financial stability of the club over the next 5 years, and if so, can we criticise after what happened under Murray? Points 9-10 - not sure about the relevance of these points, but everyone agrees that things around the club can be improved, but it hardly that things stink. As you say, not much going on in isolation but even looking at them all, I can't get excited about them.1 point
