Ryan Jack retiring from international football should have been the deciding factor of his last contract negotiations. 🤨6 points

The Spectator magazine is specifically asking, 'why won't Humza Yousaf condemn Celtic fans'? The article reports the incidents and arrests made on Saturday afternoon/evening in the Trongate. It quotes Glasgow Central MP, Alison Thewless demanding Celtic should foot the bill for the costs of the disorder. Further, the piece points out Humza has not been slow in the past in condemning Rangers supporters. His social media comments on Rangers supporters celebrating their 55th title win were, "disgraceful scenes laced with thuggery". It also mentions Humza as Justice Minister commenting upon a clearly doctored video, purporting to show several of Rangers RC players indulging in singing ant-RC songs in the Club's Members Lounge. Humza demanded Police action and for Rangers to sack those involved. Police Scotland agreed the video had been, "edited to include sectarian singing". Humza refused to back down. The article says, "Humza's refusal to comment is not a good look". The article omits his apology as Justice Minister when six fellow Sellik fans were arrested, charged and, appeared in court facing accusations of hanging two effigies replete in Rangers scarf and orange order accoutrement from the North Stand roof. Hands bound behind their backs, blindfolded and, twisting in the breeze for over an hour above several dozen flags proclaiming, "Kill all H-u-ns". All evidence had been deliberately disappeared from the Procurator Fiscal's Office Glasgow in between the groupings first and second appearances in court. Humza promised a full investigation and a published report. Six years on and it looks like the MV Glen Sannox will be sailing before the report sees the light of day.4 points

I think the days when ‘playing for your country should be the highest honour bestowed on an individual’ are long gone3 points

The SNP hate Rangers & their political stooges will try to besmirch the club & its supporters at every opportunity.3 points

I think fitness is irrelevant when it comes to Colak. He's a traditional penalty box striker that doesn't fit into the way Beale wants his side to play, so he'll be for the off, sooner or later.3 points

Fair play to him, he's had a very good season and what a way to end it.2 points

The players always look like they love playing for Scotland, and I'm always proud to see them pull on the Jersey. I'm not a huge fan of Clarke or the SFA, but the players ain't there to represent the SFA, same as our players aren't playing for Dave King, or anyone else on our board.2 points

Drop him an email asking him this simple question and copy in your local MSP and MP. Nothing will change of we don't challenge them. Dignified silence isn't the way forward I'll be emailing him and my MSP / MP tonight and will push for a reply. However only me doing this won't change anything. It'll take 100s if not 1000s of us.2 points

Because he's a hypocritical yahoo, playing to his demented audience. A lot of Scottish voters have brains a chimpanzee would laugh at, which is why he is where he is.2 points

That was my reaction too. Club first country very much second. Especially in our clubs case. I have seen some of the other clubs fans talking about Rangers players that are in - Souttar and even more so Jack - and if the players themselves read or heard it they would tell Scotland to ram it1 point

Seen that it's a 'nominal fee' by some and 'The Rangers Journal' have said it's 500k for Cifuentes, just a blog but I don't mind their content it seems pretty fair. If it is nominal then that's a coup.1 point

You might as well say cancel all international football. Do you think Haaland will tell Norway to shove it? Or any of the England players who earn much more at their clubs? No, because playing for your country should be the highest honour bestowed on an individual. In Jack's case, doubt he will start much anyway. Souttar is more of a concern, but maybe right now he needs a run of games.1 point

I think the national teams would take them in and do there own fitness tests these days, or at least that's what I've read/heard in passing. Ryan Jack would prolong his career by a few years if he retired from intl duty. Examples being Scholes and Milner for England, both retired around 30 and kept playing at the top of the Premier League past 35. I think if it was 10 years ago he would but considering how it would be difficult for Scotland to not qualify for major tournaments with the nations league and tournament expansions he probably wants to be part of this renaissance for his country. Can't say I blame him.1 point

Knowing our luck... "Jack tore both calves while doing sprints up sands dunes under Clarke's instruction and John Souttar ruptured his Achilles while trying to help him up. Both will now miss the full season."1 point

Thanks @Rousseau, as always appreciate the timer and effort you put in to the Predictor.1 point

So, they will miss pre-season training, be out ‘til October, play three games, have a recurrence of injury sustained on international duty, require surgery and make a couple of appearances before the end of the season but not enough to qualify for runners-up medals. You would think they would learn from past experience but putting your country before your career? I suppose that’s commendable isn’t it?1 point

Pretty sure Davis prefers the South Coast than Glasgow purely to live so I could see him working at Southampton's academy. It would be remiss of the club to punt a hall of famer (and in my opinion a bonified rangers great nevermind modern) when he's in rehab. That's not Rangers class or standards.1 point

I think it said we were helping him get fit, when it was announced which players were leaving.1 point

A season to forget though coming 1st equal with the champion for FGS is something to cling on to. Worth a rosette I reckon. Thanks to Rousseau for everything.1 point

I've had mixed feelings about this but on balance I have to agree with you. I think we're still one or two seasons away from being anything like prepared for the Champions League. Our Euro experiences this season were horrendous for everyone concerned with the club. Having said that, my ideal European campaign would be qualifying for the CL group stage, finishing 3rd and then dropping into the Europa League and winning it 😉1 point
