  2. We live in the best of times, we live in the worst of times. It is an age of wisdom, it is an age of foolishness. It is an epoch of belief, it is an epoch of incredulity. It is the season of light, it is the season of darkness. It is the spring of hope, it is the winter of despair. Whatever your preferred prejudice, we must acknowledge these are woke times. ViaPlay are to be congratulated in covering the entire spectrum of inclusivity and diversity. Yesterday's panel for the Scottish League Cup semi-final between Hearts and Rangers had it all. The panel assembled for broadcast covered all the bases, it was : Marvin Bartley - black. Alan Hutton -white. Emma Dodds - Lesbian. Michael Stewart - complete and utter ginger cnut. It is the way ahead.

  3. That’s how all commentary should be. I hate sports commentators who try to make themselves the entertainment

  4. 🤣 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Stewart_(footballer) "Michael James Stewart (born 26 February 1981) is a Scottish former footballer who stole a career He began his career with Manchester United and played for both Edinburgh derby rivals, Hearts and Hibernian. He also played for Nottingham Forest and Charlton Athletic during his career he was a failed footballer and gets frustrated when the famous Glasgow rangers win . Stewart was capped four times for the Scotland national football team. As a TV pundit, he has won accolades such as "Clown of the Year" and "Ginger Prick of the Month". He secretly has posters of Jorge Albertz on his wall.".

  6. I was raised to be 'colourblind' and correctly so but recent diversity courses at work have advised me that being 'colourblind' means you're ignoring other people's 'lived in experiences' and as such it can lead to unconscious bias and even covert racism. I kid you not.

  7. Bartley and Hutton are decent pundits and Emma Dodds is one of the best presenters out there at the moment. The less said about Stewart the better.

  9. I enjoy listening to Marvin Bartley - he is honest and objective, which is all you can ask for. I enjoy listening to Emma Dodds too - very professional, brings a light-heartedness to things - second in presenting only to Laura Woods, IMHO Hutton went up further in my estimation yesterday.... can be a bit drab (but not as drab as Kevin T) but the way he manhandled that fud Stewart yesterday was a joy - there was an instance where Hutton had said a Hearts player was lucky - Stewart immediately jumps on it and sais "you arent saying that should be a penalty are you ?" and Hutton immediately jumps on it with "when did you hear those words from my mouth". Stewart is a bellend.

  10. I watched the Copa Libertadores final on Saturday, which was thoroughly enjoyable...apart from Nevin's co-commentary. He really is a smug wee prick.

  12. I find Bartley a bit of a dull dullard to be honest and I don't think he adds anything insightful. Stewart is like Pat Nevin, likes to say 'stuff' just to sound intelligent but just talks rubbish and cant hide his bias.

  13. Nah, I hear what you were saying. 👍 Think we had Aberdeen 3 finals in a row in the late 80s? For nostalgia purposes I'll throw in the 96 final 4-3 v Hearts when Gascoigne came out and bagged a classic double (he had a double at half time aswell) - and it was the Neil McCann trial game where he was awesome. Delighted to be in the final although the date Dec 17 could have been arranged a bit better, it was always great to get this final in October. What length of contract is Butland on BTW anyone? At a time around 6 or 7 years ago when England had 3 or 4 coming through he was easily the best out of Pickford and Pope plus with Forster and Foster around - but he got a bad injury. Its great to see him showing his talent again - he is a top keeper and I wouldnt be swapping him for Pickford, Henderson or Sam Johnstone. Im liking what Clement seems to be doing, there just seems a bigger professionalism around the place and we have to remember he has barely had time on the training ground to implement his style due to midweek games.

  14. Scott Wright played really well today. I really like Clement but have no idea why Lammers is starting. Get Cantwell in behind the main striker.

  15. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-67204915 STAYC - K-pop group in Rangers top 'mix-up' at Texas gig IMAGE SOURCE, ROBERTBABBLE Image caption, The group appeared in the Glasgow Rangers tops instead of Texas Rangers A popular K-Pop band appears to have made a mix-up by donning retro Rangers tops at a show in Texas. STAYC were performing in Dallas as part of their US tour. But instead of wearing local baseball team Texas Ranger's tops, the girl group appeared in 1990s kits worn by Glasgow Rangers. The six-piece group which has found success in Korea and Japan are currently embarked on their Teenfresh world tour. K-pop star Jisoo announces break-up with actor Members Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J made their debut in 2020 with the release of their album Star to a Young Culture - which is the group's acronym. IMAGE SOURCE, GETTY IMAGES Image caption, Paul Gascoigne and teammate Ally McCoist pose with the trophy after Rangers won the Scottish Coca Cola Cup Two of the pop stars were photographed wearing Rangers 1996-97 home shirts at their concert on Thursday. That season Rangers won the Scottish Coca Cola Cup after a thrilling 4-3 game at Celtic Park against Hearts. Meanwhile, Texas Rangers have reached their first World Series since 2011. They are the oldest Major League Baseball team to never win the world series. Despite the mix-up, Glasgow Rangers fans on social media voiced their approval of STAYC's fashion choice, with one fan saying: "Rangers are the kings of K-Pop". Other celebrities who have been spotted sporting Rangers attire includes boxing legend Mike Tyson, movie star Samuel L Jackson and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. US rapper Snoop Dogg has also regularly been pictured wearing Celtic kit - while Baywatch star David Hasselhoff rarely misses an opportunity to pull on the kit of another Glasgow club, Partick Thistle. But this is not the first time a K-pop band has chosen to don a Glasgow football top. In 2018 two members of the nine-piece boy band Stray Kids appeared wearing retro Celtic jerseys in the music video for their song "My Pace". STAYC will be appearing at Wembley to perform alongside other K-pop stars for Korea on Stage In London on 8 November.

  17. If he was doing this in the mid 00's he'd have England caps imo - pity that there's so much talent now and for the last few years in that position. Also doesn't include his assists!

  18. Today's Herald sees Kevin McKenna aka, 'the Godfather' travel to Kirkton in Dundee and meets up with Jum Spence aka, 'the Rectum'. The dynamic duo are intent upon resolving the social and economic problems present in the Clootie City suburb. Last week, the Kirkton denizens barricaded off a couple of streets, built a bonfire and demonstrated their inner Bash Street Kids mentality. PC Murdoch took a bleaching, the Godfather and the Rectum are donning capes. It is all very Desperate Dan. Jute, jam and, Jumism saves the day.

  22. Idk if it's a popular view but I've always liked Hutton as a pundit - I think he's engaging, reasonable with his views and won't take the pish from the token Tim's. I'd rather listen to him than Fergie or Miller.

  26. You should know that “dwarf” is not acceptable. Probably “low altitude accomplished persons” would do. I have no idea how the word “homosexual” is rendered these days. The choice is multiple but heaven help you if you pick the wrong one.

  27. The equalizer probably saved the bookies a few big payouts from punters who would have had an outside single on Luton to win. Surely that would have been minimum 8/1. Good win for Forest. A weekend where Liverpool, Arsenal, Villa and Brighton didnt win which tightens things up, so its over to Spurs tonight to stretch the gap.

  31. I’ve never been keen on Cantwell, asil. Can produce something superb from time to time but the rest of the team isn’t good enough to carry him waiting for it to happen.

  32. I hear you. Just being a pedantic pwick 🤣 As much as I find the LC an inconvenience, its an important chapter in the new "story" being written by Clement. I do have fond memories of some cracking finals, Coopers penalty in 86, Coopers free kick against Aberdeen in 87, Jelavic versus Celtic, beating St. Mirren with 9 men etc
