If we're patient and develop him properly Barron could be what we've been missing since Davo retired. High praise I know. I thought he dictated the game in the first half. First thought forward, if not recycle. My motm.5 points

Wishing John Bennett a speedy recovery. A true bluenose and a good man who hasn't hesitated for a moment to plough multi-millions of his own money to keep the club going forward after the disaster that we were. I hope the club remains in the hands of like minded people. It'll take a bit of fan patience for the foreseeable future, but I think we are in good hand with John Gilligan, another of the good men who saved us when we needed saving. The club needs our backing more than ever right now. Now let's hope the team give the Dundee HIVs a doing tomorrow for John.4 points

He is the total opposite of lundstram does not swan about with the ball dragging our tempo down tries to add urgency to the attack and keeps it simple when no options appear, he is the one shining light this season apart from the match against them he is consistently performing. I like the look of the young recruits this summer Jefte and Igamane they are very raw though.3 points

Yes, and I don't disagree with that. However, at this time, and given the news about JB's health, I just wanted to wish the man well and be thankful that we had a chairman with the best interests of our club at heart and who put a lot of his money in to the club without hesitation. Whilst some of the decision making was mind boggling - not just down to Bennett, let's be honest, but we could have been a lot worse off and managed significantly more badly....just to keep it in perspective.3 points

Mind that time he didn’t want to play Propper as he was needing a chest of drawers from Ikea that weekend. Some boy big Phil.3 points

We look a lot more mobile when countering them with Hamza up top2 points

Igamane has just done more forward link up play in this game that Dessers has all season with that chance for Lawrence.2 points

We should resign McCoist even at 61 he’d still be better up front than anything we’ve got at present2 points

Cortes is a clever wee player. Great to see him back playing.2 points

OK, it's not fantastic but that was a lot better today in terms of attacking intent, tempo and organisation. We did try to be a bit too too clever at times at key moments in and around their box but that's through the kind of confidence we want to see. Let's kill them off!2 points

Why does he always delay his shot or cut back just leather it across the goal first time ffs2 points

Anyone surprised he didn’t start Bajrami? He never starts a player unless he can name all the tea ladies at Ibrox and auchenhowie for some reason. Celtic signed 2 players on the same day both have played twice for them and scored yesterday2 points

And let’s hope we cut out the stupid mistakes too today. Particularly giving the ball away needlessly2 points

Rangers often fills our lives with joy but can also bring disappointment. Those who lead our club understand that can yield criticism but that should be constructive and not personal. We shouldn't forget they love the club as much as you or I. All the best to John and his family.2 points

Financial matters are seriously concerning. I suspect there may be a takeover in the wings. If there isn't I am even more concerned but also concerned if there is. Better the devil you know? Choppy waters indeed. It is time for us to get behind the team in a big way.2 points

We started well and we were never really troubled. Back to Ibrox next week............. Hopefully defend our LC trophy, cut the gap a little especially to the sheep and punch above our weight as usual in Europe. Its not all doom n gloom1 point

Accrington Stanley, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Burnley, Derby County, Everton, Notts County, Preston North End, Stoke, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers were the founding members of the Football League so you are right Everton/Villa is the only top flight fixture. Heavily concentrated in the north west and the midlands. No southern softies. I looked up the opening day matches. Villa drew 1-1 at Wolves. Everton best Accrington 2-1 at a place called Anfield.1 point

Enjoyed the game today. We played some very tidy football, albeit in spells. That one touch move at the start of the second half was excellent. Igamane was another reason to look forward to the future and be positive. It was ironic that sutton made more sense concerning Rangers than Boyd after the game. Thought Barron, Jefte, Souttar were great and Dowell had an excellent half. As usual the ref was utter gladys, and dead set against us. WATP1 point

Three points, good first half, mediocre second half. The old problem of converting chances hasn't changed. Igamane looks good, let him AND Dessers loose at the opposition and themtwo will have fun. The Don got card-happy late on, almost farcical.1 point

Thank goodness. What a relief. Some good performances and some good football.1 point

What's that, 9 yellows? Never ever that type of game. You saw the same last night in the Bournemouth game, the fans haven't turned up to see you be the main man. British refereeing is so, so poor.1 point

Hopefully you are right and he comes out and bangs in a hatrick, he just builds you up with something good then one minute later he has you with your head in your hands with something very simple to do that he manages to fluff1 point

All in all, well deserved lead. Should be 3 or 4 though. Not wanting to tempt Fate, so no comment on the Arabs. Last minute chance was so typical ... quick ball to Dessers, who is a little too far wide, and cannot pass inside, as there's no-one anywhere near. Might have shot first time, but that's not his way. A bit unlucky earlier in the half. Lawrence and Dowell are essentially Rolls-Royce style footballers, great technique if they have time and space (they actually have that today), but also the acceleration of such a car. I'd assume that we'll see Bajrami soonish. Diomande can play a little further up too.1 point

I thought Dessers did the right think with that chance. Delaying the shot gave him more time to get balanced and he was unlucky not to score through the keeper's legs.1 point

Started well & got the early goal but we’ve not built on it. Just keep expecting a stupid mistake and they’re level1 point

We're doing our usual...not taking advantage of our dominance. Dessers is largely to blame.1 point

Top flight maybe? Id have guessed Notts County, Burnley or Preston would be involved in the oldest fixture of some sort. Anyway, poor days predictions. Ipswich and Leicester both getting away points and Leicester will feel like thats a defeat. Forest winning at Anfield plus Brentford could have been 3 up early on. Everton though, cant be giving away 2-0 leads every week. I still think they will stay up, they will beat teams around them. Hammers leaving it very late, I wasnt convinced by Lopetegui coming in and so far be is Moyes 2.0 with his selections - Kudus on the left when he is awesome in a more central role or the right, continuing to play Soucek and Antonio is poor.1 point
