Rousseau is a Morningside chap. His Butler insists he breakfasts in, 'the Canny Man'. I suspect the insistence is based upon the Canny Man's surf and turf Bloody Mary? The celery stalk is adorned with a Carabinero prawn and an air dried slice of crisped Bayonne ham. As our Morningside Super-Mod' we should chip-in to provide Rousseau with a Vespa/Lambretta; whatever his Butler prefers.7 points

Ferguson would win, Sterling would be out for the season6 points

Would that be pretend posh, as in Corstorphine, or proper posh, as in Barnton?4 points

A few yelly cairds in the post me thinks.... I once worked with a girl from one of the posh Edinburgh suburbs who was privately educated in the Capital, and loaned her a copy of Trainspotting when it became a cult hit. She read it and said when returning the book, "good book, but nothing like that goes on in Edinburgh "...... Maybe one of @Rousseau relations?3 points

He became the scapegoat amongst some of the fans for the Copland debacle. Given the silence from within Ibrox about that I doubt this was true.3 points

Listened to it this morning, a bit click baity - they said his international manager has told him to find a move so he can play more regularly. Poor from the RR IMO.3 points

No, Creag Robertson was doing much of the administrative stuff before he resigned. In fact the reason given previously for nothing have a sporting director/DOF/technical director after Ross Wilson left was because RFC wanted to split the role into two people (i.e. Koppen and Robertson) as it was too much work for one person. Now they've decided again, one person (with no experience of much of the work) can do it. It hardly inspires confidence but that in itself doesn't mean it's not the right appointment.3 points

The reality is that our financial situation seriously limits our ability to recruit experience and proven quality. The executive profile we are looking for will more than often pass on any offer we might make them. For example, you are asking a CEO candidate to make us great again on a shortening shoestring whilst the main rival is flush and been successful for many years. Oh, and by the way, you'd better get it sorted by Friday or you'll have one of the most impatient and unrealistic fan bases in the UK, on your back. Ask John Bennett's wife.3 points

Neither. Utterly posh as in Grange. I don’t know if he actually lives there but I bet he talks like it.3 points

I've been quite happy with Koppen's performance: I like his ideas and his recruitment has been good - not perfect, but it has been noticeably better. I'm disappointed in the criticism directed his way. My issue is the lazy merging of roles. NK was appointed Director of Recruitment, which is his background; let him do that. And, maybe when he's had a few years experience then he can make the step up. Appoint a proper Director of Football (or Technical Director).3 points

So you're telling me there's a chance.....????...😀2 points

Big pals with Fred Goodwin, if rumour is to be believed. Come to think of it, has @Rousseau ever been seen in same room as Fred Goodwin?2 points

He was a great success at the commercial department but sadly not as CEO.2 points

Bisgrove was fine in both roles he had at the club. The OF friendly was controversial but his job was to get is income, the people who agreed to that game were at fault. If you look at the trajectory of our retail department/profit since he joined, it's difficult to say he wasn't a success.2 points

Wallyford and he’s a … er, let’s not go there. Remember he can ban us in a heartbeat. A holiday residence in Gullane, perhaps?2 points

I figured @Rousseau might be an East Lothian man like @Frankie. Maybe he's from Haddington. Or maybe I just heard that he's a "haddie".2 points

What it means is we not only do we continue to take outside bets on just about everything, but we are lengthening the odds. You wouldn't think that player trading is supposedly our route to the promised land. It is like a gambler who is no longer in control. What happens if a new CEO wants to change things again ? Has he/she already had a say ?2 points

I don't think fans questioning Koppen's ability to multi-task / split himself over two important roles is a sign of impatience or being unrealistic. If our finances dictate that we are unable to fill critical roles, then we are closer to closing the doors and turning the lights out than many of us think. At this point, filling these roles is more important than replacing Tav, Dessers, Lawrence (et al), and all / any energy and finances need to be channelled into filling these roles. Thats the board's responsibility, they need to deliver as if we don't or can't get the correct people in to run the club, then everything else becomes pointless.2 points

Won't be long until Barry Ferguson is back as player/captain/manager and CEO. I realise that this isn't fair or scientific but I look at Koppen and he doesn't inspire confidence or even, look the part.2 points

Yeah, a few titbits leaked to press trying to shift blame to him. It was interesting to hear Gilligan (IIRC) admitting that even if the steel had been on-site the day we started the project, it still wouldn't have been completed for the start of the season.1 point

Such deference will get you everywhere. @Scott7 to backfill the moderator position that @Rousseau has vacated??? Or has he done a Koppen and been elevated to Admin status, with dual responsibility?1 point

I thought a military chap would prefer the name “Volunteer Arms”? And it’s “Canny Man’s”. You should have paid more attention on your trips to civilisation from deepest, darkest Lanarkshire.1 point

We can fill them, of course. It is about whom and if they can do the job to the level required with the resources available. Regards recruitment of executive management, unrealistic impatience will put a lot of good candidates off. Along with other issues. The appointment of a competent and hardy CEO is for me, the priority for the club as a whole. Anything positive on the pitch this season, will be a bonus. In the circumstances, getting the right person is extremely challenging. The odds are that we will get a less than exceptional candidate. But hey, I guess we'll have a better idea in the next 2/3 weeks.1 point

Ah've aye hid him doon as a schemie, ken. Aiblins Ah wis wrang.1 point

Yeah, my criticism was directed at the appointment rather than NK. Just another in a long line of lazy appointments from a board who clearly lack imagination or determination to move us forward. Suppose it saves a wage, so another boxed ticked.1 point

I recall folk saying that about Souttar and Barron, and I feel they've both proven that they may have what it takes to be talked about for years to come. History is littered with players who had to actually come here to grow and be the players they needed to be.1 point

He played in 3 separate World Cups, and, interestingly, in Argentina he missed the debacles with Peru and Iran, but played when we beat the second best side in the World, Holland. Just coincidence I'm sure. He captained the best club side in Europe, arguably the world, won 3 European Cups, 5 English League titles and 2 Scottish League titles and played helped Sampdoria win the first trophy in their entire history. For four years running he was named in the PFA Team Of The Year and also named in the PFA Team Of the Century 20 years after he retired. For 4 or 5 seasons Souness would have been a first choice for any club, and any country, in the world. I don't know what your definition of 'World class' is but if Souness doesn't qualify for it then I don't know who does.1 point
