  1. It's 1pm on Friday and I'm still buzzing from last night. We'd no one who didn't contribute last night but a special mention for Tav. He's been criticised a lot recently, he was even booed by some, and a significant number wanted him sold. His form was poor, along with almost everyone else in the squad, but last night he was immense. His cross for the goal was inch perfect, he defended well all night and showed energy, drive and leadership all game. I mean obviously I want him dropped for Sunday now...

  2. Good job we signed Igamane for a measly £1m now, because if we had waited he would be out of our league...

  3. Massive well done to the gaffer last night as well, got tactics and team selection absolutely spot on.

  4. Last night's performance, and even a few games before, has given me some new found optimism for Sunday. If the team can repeat the level of last night - we win the cup.

  5. Uch, it's easy to be hard on Dessers, he did everything right and made the chance himself, but it wasn't to be. Imagine the buzz Igamane must've felt, that young lad will never have heard a noise like that in his life, here's to many more of them.

  6. Still buzzing from last night. A real team performance of bite and belief which should stand us in good stead for Sunday. Genuinely not sure how the manager will play it but I suspect the system may well match that of last night in its slightly more pragmatic nature. Don't think Souttar will make it but Balogun was fine when he came on and Propper really did have a good game for the most part. Igamane should be OK and his selection perhaps the most difficult one to call. Might seem foolish given his form but I'd use him from the bench as he put a lot into last night culminating in his knock/cramp late on. The fresh legs of Hagi and Danilo (or even Dessers) should prove useful and I'd stick with Yilmaz on the left side to help deal with Celtic's quick attacking threat. Sterling should come in for Tav but the latter's form has been good so no surprise if he starts. All in all, it's so positive to have various options available again; not just in terms of personnel but system and tactics. We should rightly be confident for Sunday and look to build even more momentum.

  7. Dessers did everything right. McCoist said he could have shown more composure. McCoist was wrong. Dessers hit the ball perfectly. There was no time for him to do anything else but leather it. He leathered it and Foster got his body in the way.

  8. An outstanding team performance but Raskin, Dio, Tav and Igamane deserve special mention. Surprised at how well Diomande played. He really stepped up.

  9. Fantastic team performance, no failures tonight. Best we've played in a long time. Hate singling out players on a night like tonight, but Raskin and Tav were outstanding. That's the standard Rangers, keep it up.

  11. Stop their half backs playing the ball into the box put the brakes on their half backs run at their defence they’re two center half’s tend to be a bit flat footed and can be exploited, let them come at you then it’s trouble go at them and you might be surprised how fragile their defence can be .

  12. I guess I'm just speculating whether its the new CEO exerting influence already. I imagine we will hear about his views on the club on RTV when he starts.

  15. Says a lot that I left Ibrox feeling disappointed we didn't get 3 points. Credit to the Manager. He's had a lot of stick lately. Mostly deserved. And whichever analyst it was that found Ingamane initially, deserves a payrise.

  16. Shame he got a yellow card and misses the next game with Man Utd though. Brilliant performance last night, well impressed with Raskin lately.

  17. Yeah Dessers should have scored but he didn't, it happens. For what it's worth, I thought he was unlucky. Did brilliant to create the chance (that'll be largely forgotten) and struck the ball perfectly. Keeper somehow managed to get in the way and block the shot despite diving the wrong way. It wasn't to be, he'll score other goals in other games (like he has since he joined) and he'll still "split the fans". Hopefully the big man bags a goal, or even better, the winner on Sunday.

  20. Tottenham goalscorer Dejan Kulusevski tells TNT Sports: "I think Rangers played very well, we struggled a bit. "We didn't play well enough to win the game. "I think Rangers played a perfect game, it's a beautiful stadium, the fans helped them a lot.

  21. From the BBC match thread / analysis. James Tavernier has now been directly involved in 16 Europa League goals (10 goals, six assists). The only Englishman with more goal involvements is Man United's Marcus Rashford (18) and the only one with more such assists is Arsenal's Bukayo Saka (eight). The Rangers captain also made his 53rd appearance in the Europa League - the joint-most of any English player in the competition alongside Spurs great Steve Perryman.

  22. I thought Raskin was excellent and has been for a few games now. Igamane is becoming a player. I really like Jefte and he also is becoming an excellent player. All in all we never had a failure tonight. Now! let's go and win this cup on Sunday!.

  23. Can't be anything else but be proud of the lads. Gave all 100 % that they have, a touch unlucky with the result. But we'll take it.

  27. If we have ambitions to go out and play football, create chances, then Tav must start. He showed last night what he can produce. The run and pass for Igamane's goal was pure class (as was the finish). He also coped admitally with Son which in itself is no easy task.

  28. It’s the sixty four dollar question, does the coach drop Tavernier from Sundays starting eleven or does he start with him .

  29. Only because he's terrified of Maeda. Sterling would be better to deal with him.

  30. Never seen the game had to go up to Glasgow but a scoring draw against an English premiership club is a first class result and should help boost confidence for our next encounter with the Eastenders , well done Rangers you proved me wrong .

  31. Still cant believe Dessers didn't score..... well actually we can, but he should have. Very heartened by that. AS others have said I pray Souttar makes Sunday because I don't fancy Propper and Balogun against them one little bit

  35. What a game! Very unlucky not to come away with a win after a performance full of effort and no small amount of quality. Tactically we were well setup and, as we've seen a lot in Europe, we had that extra bite. Only negative the Souttar injury but so many more positives to take.

  39. Thankfully the lunch you had was memorable , but ten years ago 6th Dec 2014 ,we were struggling to break down Cowdenbeath in a league match at home . Dean Shiels scored the only goal in a 1-0 win. Attendance: 28,137 , which is poor by normal standards, but given the opposition, pretty decent.
