Not sure how the £5m from the share issue will be used but that and I'd hope the Castore/other commercial deals will help ease the burden. I agree it can be argued we're gambling on winning the league but if there wasn't the best selling market for our assets then I understand the quandary. We could have sold say Morelos and Kamara for a combined £20-25m but would we have won the league without them and sold both for less than a better market would realise? The Patterson one was most interesting for me. If there was £10-12m on the table, I'd have possibly taken that as it's uncertain just how much he's going to feature again this season. In general though, I'm not overly worried in a financial sense. I completely agree we need to avoid senseless risks and we need to sell. However, we also need to win the league this season so some speculation is understandable and even if that doesn't happen we still have assets for sale next summer.

No, the going rate is much more like what the bheasts are charging, £24 a game. That is the most comparable product around and mid-high twenties was where this should have been aimed at. I also dont agree that the crowd size will in any way reflect whether they have got this right or not. They could sell every single ticket, that does not mean they got it right, they are quite morally wrong in over-charging the fans again who have still not been recognised in any way for stumping up £20M last summer for entry to the stadium to watch our league games that we did not get any value for whatsoever. (RTV is simply no compensation for that). All we have got for our collective £20M is an increased price of everything, from tickets to replica strips to the pie stalls. I feel that we are being treated as cash cows and consumers, not as supporters. It is back to the Murray days as far as that goes. I will be paying for my tickets and be cheering on the team as usual. I can afford it and I am a mug. I know that technically I have the option to not pay up and not attend, but in my heart i dont really. If they charged double I would pay it. Doesnt mean it's been priced right or that I dont have the right to moan about it on a forum like this. On the face of it, I don't agree. We'll probably make a loss in excess of £10m this season, and I'm not sure how that's to be funded. Perhaps the directors/shareholders will invest further cash, but the impression I had was that they are not investing more. Perhaps there's to be a further large cash injection that we don't know about. However it seems to me that we needed to sell at least one player for £10m+, and I'm surprised that we haven't. Perhaps there's a gamble that we'll win the league again and earn the CL cash next season, but that's a Murray approach to running the club. I have to presume that the directors know what they're doing but we do need additional cash from somewhere.

I'm disappointed we've not sold anyone. I can't get passed the fact that we've got a £14M hole to plug this season, we have decent assets to sell, after developing them, and yet we keep retaining them without realising the value. I understand the CL is the holy grail, but if we're spending more and more to get it, is it worth it? I don't think selling an asset precludes us from achieving CL football. We should be selling our assets, using some to plug the financial holes, then re-investing it in new assets to start the process again.

In my opinion it is. Lyon charging €60 For 3 games, Celtic charging £75. £500 quid last season to watch RTV (only home games mind), £500 For ST this season, £50 For MyGers, £200 For kids kits, £500 For shares, £50 For two friendlies and now £39 per game in Europe's 2nd tier tournament. Rip off.

if you want a peek at the mind set of the club just look at the pre season friendly package on RTV. 30 quid for 5 games. they cancelled one but no partial refund given. you don't even get what you pay for anymore never mind value for money. This is steep no question about it. CL prices.

So if they sold 1miliion shirts at €50 each they’d only get €7.5m. Not sure what Manchester United’s deal with Adidas is but won’t be too different from PSG’s I wouldn’t think

The £4.5m from the share issue will be used to repay Dave King's £5m + interest loan due for repayment next month. The £10m figure I used had already factored in the commercial deals. Remember that we made a £16m loss in the 19/20 season. As I said above, we made a £16m loss in 19/20 season that included qualifying from the group stages of the EL. There were some league games with no crowd but other than any refunded season ticket cash, we would have had most of the cash from them anyway. It'll certainly be interesting to see where the finance comes from.

Yeah it's a personal choice but it's one that the club know the vast majority will pay, it's playing on our loyality. Just look at MyGers as an example, the way it's marketed, portraying it as some thing "real fans" would join. However, I'm old enough to remember Rangers playing CL group stage games in front of 30-35,000 fans as the club overpriced the tickets, which was at the time a major embarrassment. There are many fans who have been on furlough, lost the jobs, struggling to make ends meet, but our club just keep bleeding us dry. I'm just awaiting yet another email from Rangers saying I can purchase the EL "Stay at home and watch on the sofa" range of lounge-wear, for just the £100.....

Can't include that in your "rip off" numbers - that is very much a personal choice. The others are too, but something like ST is a tough personal choice to avoid, unlike share issues.

You'd like to think fans could approve the use of their data to link their vaccine status to their season ticket but not sure what's possible. Otherwise, passport would probably take the form of a QR code so it may be the turnstile tech we have can be used for entry as well and/or extra stewards/staff deployed to do manual scans. It's certainly not going to be easy in a logistical sense but should be possible.

There's 25 players named there and we also have Ofaborh, Barker and Defoe who may well play their part. We perhaps don't have a huge amount of key player quality within that 28 man squad but we do have the bulk of the squad that won us the title and qualified from the EL supplemented by Sakala, Bacuna and Lundstram. OK, maybe a Veerman and other striker may have our smiles wider but, generally, we're in a better position than this time last year I'd say.

Also, I worry that we'll never cash in: 'We'll just keep our key players over the summer' 'We'll just keep them in January, there's only 6 months to the next main window' 'Maybe we should keep them again and go for the CL?' 'Ah, shit! They're now worthless!' For me, we should always be going for the League and CL, but I don't think cashing in on a key player now and again should necessarily prevent that, if we're reinvesting it prudently - which we've shown we can do. We need to get into the habit of selling, re-investing, and developing players.

I can't tell you how to spend your money but I am going to do so anyway. The Europa League matches are all more important than the shares, the replica kits and the friendly matches. The Europa League matches will deliver way more entertainment than the friendly matches. It's not even close.

Valentine's Day was their last away victory domestically. Their worst start points-wise since 1997/98 First Celtic manager since Mowbray to lose their first OF indeed. But for an unfortunate goal away to Dundee Utd we would be 4 points clear of them, despite our own slow start to the season. As it is, we are 3 clear. What makes for really interesting reading for me is their recruitment policy. Apparently they are close to signing both a winger and a striker.... in fairness, the boy Kyogo looks very tidy (despite Balogun ensuring he had a quiet day yesterday you can tell he is a good player) and Abada will be OK against the other SPFL dross.... but in signing another striker and another winger they are completely ignoring their actual failings.... which are in midfield and defence, particularly in defence. I thought Juranovic did OK for them yesterday and maybe he will play RB instead of Ralston (Ralston is getting plaudits for being an SPFL hammer thrower - he did ok yesterday for them too, but isn't much of a footballer), but Starfelt is a horror show, Welsh will get exposed having to be the cool head beside him, and Joe Hart will undoubtedly cost them points this season. They have, apparently, spent 20 million this season on transfers - when added to last season's spend and given how poorly those transfers have turned out, they must be close to being on their last legs in terms of sellable assets to balance the books. You can only have so many strikers and wingers start... even John Hartson got it spot on yesterday when he said "will Angeball mean Celtic have to score 3 or 4 goals to ensure victories"..... those close games when they are 1-0 up with a few minutes left to play and opponents lump it into the box will be telling, they can't handle the aerial fight. At half-time yesterday, sure they had most of the possession - but a) because Rangers were happy with them having possession in their own half and b) a lot of that possession wasn't dangerous at all. They are easier on the eye than Lennon's Celtic last season... but they are 6 points worse off, after 4 games, I believe. Hardly inspiring. Our expectations are heady, we believe we should win the league. With how we won it at a canter last season, they expected to not put up a fight this season... given their brand of play is better they have bought into the delusion early. For us, we just need to keep focused on one game at a time, winning whether we play poorly or not. We proved yesterday, again, that we have superior tacticians.
