  1. Not sure how the £5m from the share issue will be used but that and I'd hope the Castore/other commercial deals will help ease the burden. I agree it can be argued we're gambling on winning the league but if there wasn't the best selling market for our assets then I understand the quandary. We could have sold say Morelos and Kamara for a combined £20-25m but would we have won the league without them and sold both for less than a better market would realise? The Patterson one was most interesting for me. If there was £10-12m on the table, I'd have possibly taken that as it's uncertain just how much he's going to feature again this season. In general though, I'm not overly worried in a financial sense. I completely agree we need to avoid senseless risks and we need to sell. However, we also need to win the league this season so some speculation is understandable and even if that doesn't happen we still have assets for sale next summer.

  2. Just the adornment for the gable ends or garage lintels of the mansions of the rich among us, compo, Craig, Bill, asil. https://rangersfcreadycrests.company.site/ Reduce it to key fob size and stick it on a bit of faux leather and I’d buy it for a tenner.

  3. No, the going rate is much more like what the bheasts are charging, £24 a game. That is the most comparable product around and mid-high twenties was where this should have been aimed at. I also dont agree that the crowd size will in any way reflect whether they have got this right or not. They could sell every single ticket, that does not mean they got it right, they are quite morally wrong in over-charging the fans again who have still not been recognised in any way for stumping up £20M last summer for entry to the stadium to watch our league games that we did not get any value for whatsoever. (RTV is simply no compensation for that). All we have got for our collective £20M is an increased price of everything, from tickets to replica strips to the pie stalls. I feel that we are being treated as cash cows and consumers, not as supporters. It is back to the Murray days as far as that goes. I will be paying for my tickets and be cheering on the team as usual. I can afford it and I am a mug. I know that technically I have the option to not pay up and not attend, but in my heart i dont really. If they charged double I would pay it. Doesnt mean it's been priced right or that I dont have the right to moan about it on a forum like this. I feel really sorry for fans that this ridiculously high cost will price out of being able to attend. There clearly is a price for loyalty, our club just double it and add on some and stick it to us, again and again and again.

  4. It allows the SNP to exercise control. That’s it I think.

  5. over 91% of over 18s have had their first vaccine and over 82% their 2nd , simply do not understand this over reaction by the SNP, they must know the reaction they will get

  6. On the face of it, I don't agree. We'll probably make a loss in excess of £10m this season, and I'm not sure how that's to be funded. Perhaps the directors/shareholders will invest further cash, but the impression I had was that they are not investing more. Perhaps there's to be a further large cash injection that we don't know about. However it seems to me that we needed to sell at least one player for £10m+, and I'm surprised that we haven't. Perhaps there's a gamble that we'll win the league again and earn the CL cash next season, but that's a Murray approach to running the club. I have to presume that the directors know what they're doing but we do need additional cash from somewhere.

  7. I'm disappointed we've not sold anyone. I can't get passed the fact that we've got a £14M hole to plug this season, we have decent assets to sell, after developing them, and yet we keep retaining them without realising the value. I understand the CL is the holy grail, but if we're spending more and more to get it, is it worth it? I don't think selling an asset precludes us from achieving CL football. We should be selling our assets, using some to plug the financial holes, then re-investing it in new assets to start the process again.

  8. In my opinion it is. Lyon charging €60 For 3 games, Celtic charging £75. £500 quid last season to watch RTV (only home games mind), £500 For ST this season, £50 For MyGers, £200 For kids kits, £500 For shares, £50 For two friendlies and now £39 per game in Europe's 2nd tier tournament. Rip off.

  9. I can remember when we bumped the price up to six bob ??

  10. if you want a peek at the mind set of the club just look at the pre season friendly package on RTV. 30 quid for 5 games. they cancelled one but no partial refund given. you don't even get what you pay for anymore never mind value for money. This is steep no question about it. CL prices.

  15. Not so sure about that. The lionshare of shirt sales goes to the manufacturer. When Messi went to PSG it was revealed that the club got 15% of sales in their Nike contract. So if they sold 1miliion shirts at €50 each they’d only get €7.5m. Not sure what Manchester United’s deal with Adidas is but won’t be too different from PSG’s I wouldn’t think

  16. The £4.5m from the share issue will be used to repay Dave King's £5m + interest loan due for repayment next month. The £10m figure I used had already factored in the commercial deals. Remember that we made a £16m loss in the 19/20 season. As I said above, we made a £16m loss in 19/20 season that included qualifying from the group stages of the EL. There were some league games with no crowd but other than any refunded season ticket cash, we would have had most of the cash from them anyway. It'll certainly be interesting to see where the finance comes from.

  17. Imagine looking for condemnation of something that might not have actually happened or even worse, something our bitter rivals fabricated. Should we not leave that sort of foolishness to Humza and co?

  18. Okay supposing this comes into play is it going to be downloading qr codes into phones that will allow access to games,or will printed codes be allowed. The reason I ask is because I do not have phone access to this as I only have a PAYG phone which has no facility for access to internet and I have no desire to have any other phone, whereas I am able to download and print qr codes as I done for the Brighton game via my desktop.

  21. I still think those same players will be marketable assets in next season's window, so long as Kamara and Goldson sign extensions.

  22. Can't include that in your "rip off" numbers - that is very much a personal choice. The others are too, but something like ST is a tough personal choice to avoid, unlike share issues.

  23. Was travel for me. I wasn't going to bother but when I realized it was likely to prevent me from travelling I got the vaccine.

  24. Thats a fair point and a big difference between the two models. However if the current board are not (as has been suggested) going to continue to fund with soft loans converted to shares, then we are racking up debt somewhere instead surely? Even if it is soft loans to be repaid to the Directors at some point in the future, that is debt.

  25. You'd like to think fans could approve the use of their data to link their vaccine status to their season ticket but not sure what's possible. Otherwise, passport would probably take the form of a QR code so it may be the turnstile tech we have can be used for entry as well and/or extra stewards/staff deployed to do manual scans. It's certainly not going to be easy in a logistical sense but should be possible.

  28. Agree. As someone that has worked in graphic design that badge should never have passed the first proof. It always irked me that our monogram badge was a thing of beauty and 2nd crest was all over the place. Thank God it someone with half an eye saw fit to rectify it.

  29. Thats the speculative part I dont like our entire budget and club being run on. That was how Murray done it. I'd rather sell the players now, balance the books, and spend what we can afford in the here and now on new players/contracts.

  30. How much do Rangers get from every Castore shirt sold? Any idea? Ive been saying for years it makes no sense for Rangers to sign contracts with the likes of Adidas & Nike because we’d get so little back if we’d sold 100’s of thousands
    1 point
  31. Yes I am at this stage of thinking as well. I have been saying all summer we needed to sell 2 players for around £10M each. 1 to pay for 20/21 loss and 1 to invest in future purchases/offset any loss in 21/22. The fact we did neither has me very concerned. The very last thing I want for our club is to return to the speculative days of the Murray regime, that will never end well.

  36. It wouldn’t be a massive surprise if the main board looks a bit different a year from now, with new investments arriving as a consequence.

  37. It’s only centre mid I feel we are. It partly because of the seniority of the players and their wages, we seem to have a concentration of wages in midfield. Across the defence we have low-wage backups. In the attack, maybe slightly less so but still reasonably low-wage backups. In midfield we appear to have hefty wages on our bench. Assuming we play Jack-Davis-Kamara, that would be Arfield, Lundstram, Bacuna and Aribo on the bench. It just seems such an inefficient use of wages to me. I am assuming Kamara extends and gets the hefty pay-bump he deserves.

  40. Yes, it's definitely a bigger and stronger squad than last season. 'Kinda suggests we should have sold a key asset this summer... *Where's my smug b*st*ard gif...?*

  41. Assets touted as high value are Tavernier, Barasic, Kent and Morelos. If they had played for other clubs over the last three years, would you urge Rangers to buy any of them for £10M? At various times in their careers I might have but now? I don’t think so. (Unbeaten from now ‘til the end of the year and I’ll be changing my mind again) Patterson and Hagi are high value but they both have potential rather than experience.

  42. I think it's quite expensive but supply and demand dictates the price unfortunately...
