Scottish runners up go into Q3 path for non-champions and would need to win 2 rounds of qualifying to get into the group stages. It was indeed a thing. Back in the day, we had the European cup, for league winners only, UEFA cup was for 2nd, 3rd and maybe 4th IIRC, and Cup Winners Cup was for National cup winners. If UC was brought back, it would be the prime trophy now IMHO.2 points

That was my initial thought as well, however there is photos of McCausland participating in training today. On more negative note, Zac Lovelace came off injured after playing 20mins for B Team today in a 3v2 defeat to Antwerp.1 point
