  1. Earlier in this thread, I articulated the worry of leaving the pitch in Portugal at 22.15 hrs, rehydrating, sleeping and, returning to Glasgow Friday afternoon. Saturday was a loosener and an assessment on whom was prepared to go out on to the Easter Road pitch on Sunday evening. Joe Newell expressed it perfectly, "I hope the Rangers players are knackered after their exploits in Lisbon". Hibs started as expected, pressing us all around the pitch, particularly high in our own eighteen yard box. It was a hard watch because we did not pass the ball well. The players remained calm and were prepared to play the percentage game. If we ran out of options, we slung it over the top. The calmest character in our camp was the Gaffer. Both pre and post match, he keeps it simple, respectful, humble and, focused. The evidence is increasing, the players respond to his approach. We did not become involved in an increasingly fraught situation. Philippe has drilled the players and we all benefit. Our manager is blessed with penetrative thought, he sees it, calls it and, the players respond.

  2. I'm glad were through to the semi's, but cheese n onion that game was an utter garbage watch, and having to listen to that plonker stewart made it even worse. Roll on Thursday.

  3. I've hidden that comment which was unnecssary. Looks like Boyle got a really bad one (it's telling we've not seen replays) so let's stick to positive comments about our team.

  4. Personally I hope he is okay. It is a game of football

  6. Stewart’s doing his dinger about that second yellow for obita the persistent fouling comes into it as he was luxky not to be sent off for pushing McCausland off the park

  7. IMO, Lennon is relatively balanced. Stewart is biased beyond belief.

  8. I wish our travelling fans would change the record. OK we get it. A guy called Bobby Sands died. You probably wrent even born when that happened. This is why I don't go to away games.

  9. Very disappointed in the amount of green seats lying empty yet if they get to a semi or final they are demanding half the briefs fucking part time fans

  11. Keep. Rarely injured, a decent performer (a PotY candidate for this season) and a leader in the side. Every team needs experienced players and if we can agree a decent deal then I'm all for it.

  12. I was always in favour of retaining Ryan Jack, with the caveat that he would be able to play 20-30 games. He's only played 12 games worth of minutes this season (1080 minutes from 22 appearances), unfortunately. I think it's time to release him this season.

  13. Perfectly said and I agree 100%

  16. Mighty Don Kitchenbrand. The ball must go into the net, the ‘keeper as well if need be and the centre half too, just to make sure.

  18. I don't know - hard to argue with the penalty or either of the red cards. I think only Michael Stewart has an issue with them. John Collins on BBC saying referee got all 3 decisions correct. Tells its own story.

  19. Have we seen, tonight, Scottish officials "working to rule", as a result of the abuse they have received, and continue to receive, from the fhilth, it's players and managers, its executives, it's non- executives, and its supporters in the media? I, for one, certainly hope so.

  20. "It's never a red card!". What a fud. 🤣

  21. Rory Hamilton is right btw, Scottish referees ability to let things get tastier and tastier until someone leaves on crutches is unparalleled. I'm expecting a shocker any minute.

  23. Probably is drunk, but at least he knows a penalty when he sees one, unlike that bitter tit

  24. It's not even unlucky imo. Playing a lad who has a history of niggling injuries a couple of days after an exhausting European away is just negligent.

  25. I was just going to ask who the co-commentator is. This amount of green-white cope is extraordinary ...

  26. It’s a stonewaller and that prat Stewart giving it ‘it’s not a penalty” clown 😂😂😂😂

  27. Keep. He's been our best player since Clement came in. We would weaken our team if he leaves. Jack can't stay fit. Raskin had showed nothing this season and I think he'll be sold.

  30. Don't know about the figures but agree with the sentiments. If he wants more money than we think is reasonable, no thanks. If he wants a longer contract than we think is reasonable, no thanks. Otherwise, come on down. He is very good domestically and often dominates games. If it's felt his experience will help younger players coming through, a short extension may be felt worthwhile. So in short, ideally renew but not at any cost.

  31. Raskin needs games under his belt and he needs to stay injury free for a while. He looked sharper for the ten mins he was on v Benfica but he has a long way to go. If he continues picking up calf injuries that keep him out for a couple of months then that’s a sign to move him on.

  32. I would start Jack with Raskin replacing him when needs be.

  34. Good to get the win. I didn't think we played great and Sterling going off was a concern. All eyes on Thursday now.

  35. Would have liked a couple more and yet again injuries, but we are through. I think we will get THEM in the semis By the way couple of disgraceful challenges from the spoon burners too

  36. Well, Hibs were willing and had a go for 30odd minutes. The goal took the sting out of them somewhat, and we got going. Some people just need to concentrate a little more to get the pass-angles better, but on the whole not to bad after the goal. A couple of goals to keep the nerve-levels down please.

  37. To be fair it was strapped up after Thursday nights game. Only a matter or time. Another one bites the dust.

  38. Unfortunately we can't avoid playing Raskin at some stage but you're right, he's been a very pale imitation of the player who joined us last season. Can but hope he rediscovers some kind of form before too long.
