I don't think Bacuna has been given much of a chance. There's a good footballer in there somewhere but if GvB doesn't fancy him and it suits all parties, then it's best to sell.5 points

What I took that to mean was that the board had guaranteed the money in a worst case scenario, but it didn't mean that if we sold that they wouldn't use that cash first rather than dipping into their own pockets when they didn't have to. We also may have loans to directors to repay as well.3 points

Just a tad of an over-reaction here. I am a big, big fan of Ryan Kent - but amazing isnt a word I would use for him whilst at us. Vey good ? Sure. Excellent ? At times, yes. Amazing ? Nope, that is reserved (in my mind) for players like Laudrup and Gascoigne. It is a superlative too far for me3 points

Anyone who isnt "wondering about money" hasnt been paying attention. The Board have said they needed about £8 million to see out the season, we have brought in about £14 mill from Gerrard and Patterson - but that doesnt mean that the excess funds should be spent. Our model is to be self-sufficient and that doesnt always equate to a zero sum game of "we raised £x mill in sales so should also spend £x mill on players". The reality is that, yes, this season is important because of automatic CL entry - but what if we spent the money and didnt win the league ? How far back does that put us financially ? Secondly, do we really actually need to spend that money ? I don't think we do. We have the best squad in the country and the best starting XI. Keep who we have. Hagi will be a miss but he hasnt been playing that well - bring in Wright or Lowry or even Bacuna - there are certainly plenty of options. We all would love to see transfer activity but the beauty of having the best team and the best squad in the country is that it means you dont need to bring reinforcements in when operating from a position of strength. Sometimes less is more.3 points

If Gerrard was still here I doubt we’d be talking about Lowry. Lundstram would have started tonight.2 points

Lowry's a young lad. He played well but he made one or two mistakes too. We have a bipolar tendency - everything's either magnificent or it's awful.2 points
-
For all he's done well as an emergency centre half, maybe time to give Bassey a break especially with Balogun and Helander back in squad. He's a young lad and last thing we want is for his confidence to take dunt. I like him and like his attitude but he's had a few wobbles over last couple games.2 points

You're right, the margins between good and bad performances can be very thin. I just take the view that being pilloried by the support never results in anyone playing better.2 points

I'm willing to put this one down to the weather/conditions but you are correct, the vital spark is missing at the moment but we did have some big players out tonight. Need our offensive players to ignite - Fashion played well as did Lowry. Wright had flashes in 1st half but struggled 2nd half. Aribo and Kent will improve the front line and hopefully Roofe can get back to full fitness / sharpness and Arfield offers something different as well.2 points

Spot on with that. Lowry played even better than I expected, the lad is a real talent.2 points

Bacuna to Birmingham apparently close to going through.2 points

Anyone else feel tonight's match against Livi' could be sticky? We have a number of our better players out due to various reasons and Martindale will have them well organised. The other thing is Bruce Anderson, he has scored against us for three different clubs. Two of those were injury time equalisers for Aberdeen and Acas. Let's hope we begin with tempo and pace? further, I hope Arfield starts and Jack is an option on the bench. I would prefer Jack starts too but he has been out since last February. Wright seems to be the whipping boy at the moment. Kent over the piece has been poor as has hagi but avoid criticism and get picked regardless of their poor form. Wright on the other hand has to fight for every minute on the park and if he plays half as bad as the others he gets dropped.2 points
-
Worth noting I don't think he was ever meant to be anything more than that. It's all he was at Aberdeen after all.2 points

Looks to me like were living in a hand to mouth situation 😉 best to get someone from Saudi with more money than sense to sell it to , mon the gers it's time for an Abdul da bull bull supporters club 😄2 points

Like many such players he shows up in flashes but in my view he's far too passive. At Pittodrie last week, he helped create the goal but seemed to struggle through the game with his positioning. As an impact player from the bench, I don't mind him so much but I don't think we can rely on him as a starter. That's maybe a wee bit unfair as he's not had a proper chance but c'est la vie.2 points

I think we will spend some money over the next few days now but Craig is right to emphasis our financial situation so it's imperative that if we're to make a signing - especially for a few million - then it's the right one. The rest of the season is completely vital and I don't envy the board in terms of sticking or twisting.2 points

Apparently he was before going to Italy...2 points

I haven’t seen anyone comparing him with Gaza or Ferguson!!. Great to see Jack getting game time, thought he was excellent when he came on, he could be vital if he stays fit1 point

As good as Lowry has been in the junior ranks, I've seen him having very poor games. The game against Bo'ness United as an example. The conditions that Day were like tonight's and nothing Lowry done came off, it was just one of those days. I think we need to be careful with Lowry as he has a talent and he could have a very bright future in the game, but he's played 2 games. Doesn't help that some fans are already comparing him to Gazza and Barry Ferguson. If he's half as good as either of them, he'll be doing well.1 point
-
Yes, I have not written him off as yet. Just would like to see a bit more belief from him, but as you say it may come.1 point

Don't get me wrong, I think Lowry had a very good game and his attitude was exemplary. I just think it's a bit early to be relying on him or expecting too much (we've done it too often). I sometimes think the expectation of being a Ranger grinds some players down. The signs are positive.1 point

Hagi doesn't normally get too much game time, that's why I am suggesting he becomes part of the 1st team squad, with a view to giving him more game time!. He wasn't the only player tonight make 1 or 2 mistakes! some times you've just got to give young players the chance by playing them! also he handled the disgruntled atmosphere very well.1 point
-
Lowry tonight doing the kind of things we have expected Hagi to do for years. I like Hagi but if lowry keeps playing like this.1 point
-
Agree with what Neil McCann said - Wright sometimes tries too hard but even when things aren't going his way, he never hides. If his shot in 1st half had gone in, we'd be (rightly) lauding him - but he was denied a certain goal by some brilliant defending.1 point
-
I'll take it. 3pts are 3pts. A lot of key players missing against a stuffy side in horrible conditions. Post script thoughts. Lowry looks like a player. I'm not sure Scott Wright is Rangers quality. Was Tav wearing someone else's boots? His touch was dreadful tonight.1 point

However this ugly win seems to be ongoing, don't get me wrong I will be happy winning every game ugly to the end of the season, but it's rank entertainment, we should be blowing most teams away at Ibrox. We won but we were slow & ponderous like I said earlier.1 point

we bought him but payment was only on him playing a number of games and with a sell on clause.1 point

Tough game this evening without Hagi Kent & Alfie and up against the double decker buses. Tempo is key, an early goal would be massive, but I’ll take 3 points any way they come. Too many bears I’m speaking to talking about Hearts taking something off the bheasts, I’d rather all our focus is on Ibrox tonight and we can hear how that game went at FT. Im guessing a front 3 of Wright Roofe & Sakala with Kamara Arfield and another told to keep the flow fast and plenty of movement off the ball.1 point

Kent has been very poor this season from the standards i would expect of him. He cost us a massive transfer fee, is out of contract year after this and doesnt look like renewing. Currently we may struggle to make our money back on him. And yes he should be getting more spotlight than some others. Hagi also been very poor compared to last season. Hagi has great potential but as time goes I'm not sure it will be realised. He always seems to do things in flashes and moments but for the most part stumbling about and playing bad passes. And I'm a massive fan of Hagi in general. I just feel Wright has contributed better coming off the bench rather than starting. Not sure how that's whipping. Its a squad game not everyone is going to contribute like Tav/Goldson/Morelos. We need some squad fillers. Every team does.1 point
-
Its a squad game and every team needs a guy that will start a handful of games a year and make an impact off the bench. OGS at Man U is the most famous example of this but its a squad game and Wright is a good squad player. I don't think he is good enough to start every week.1 point

We need to buy low and sell high. No point immediately spending whatever is left over from every big player sale.1 point

That`s some Viking trash talk up there 😄1 point

The incentive for Hearts is money versus no money and they have bills to pay like everyone else.1 point

Being circumspect about signings is exactly what I want from our manager. The aim is to conclude deals at the best price and time - you can't do that if you're signalling intentions to your market. We should be happy to have left behind the profligate mistakes of the past.1 point
