Would also be tempted to try Sands at CB instead of Simpson - but that one is a coin flip for me - one thing for sure, is we need to get someone in there given injuries to Balogun and Helander Ramsey should start and give him an hour to see how his legs cope with it. Aye, Tav played well last night. Even the foul he got booked for was quite enjoyable viewing - always nice to see a Hibs player get flattened. 😀

I have said this before but some people either dont realise or they wilfully ignore.... Ryan Kent hurts teams and helps us in ways without having the ball. Example.... when he was out of the team we had no real pace to hurt players in behind - we were using Roofe one side and, I think, Wright or Aribo or whomever.... the point being, opposing teams didnt need to sit deeper because of Kent's pace, which meant they could flood our midfield, make it compact and prevent us from having the ball. When Kent plays those same oppositions naturally sit 5-10 yards deeper because Kent can crucify you in behind. Goldson and Kent also have that "connection" whereby Goldson notices Kent's movement and knows exactly when to hit that raking diagonal. We have missed that too. It isnt just what Kent does WITH the ball that hurts opponents and helps us, it is what he does without the ball and the fear his pace strikes in opposing teams, and creates more space for our midfield. It also shouldnt go unnoticed that last night, at times, as soon as Kent got the ball, he had as many as 3 players surrounding him - that also creates space for others. Having the ball is great, but what you do without it can be just as devastating.

Did it - oh OK.... never knew. Still doesn't take away from the fact that Kent has struggled with injuries this season, played whilst injured and when on it (like last 2 games) best player in league. Also doesn't take away from the fact we are a far better and more dangerous team when he plays well.and we have no one to replace him, so you can see why successive managers continue to have faith in him.

Ahhhh, the old Kent thing again, lol. He has been dynamite his last two games. Anyone who doesnt see that has an agenda against the lad IMHO. Kamara has scored 2 goals this season because he has been sitting in front of the back 4. He isnt actually a DM. He is a midfielder who can play either DM or CM. Nobody is getting that central AM spot other than Aribo (who looks tired) or Ramsey when fit.

I agree wholeheartedly. My only caveat is that this is also our best hope of having a successful player trading model i.e. if one or two are good enough for a run in the first team, the likelihood is that they won't become first team regulars, they'll be sold as soon as a good offer comes in, like with Patterson. Which is also fine.

Despite the manager's comments, I feel Ramsey will start on Saturday as he definitely needs the minutes so the manager should be looking to get at least 60-70 min out of him whilst resting Aribo and Arfield.

Decent performance. Still concerns about the defence, particularly with Balogun's departure. Morelos was great again. That Jasper clearly tugged Kent's shirt with no punishment and then went on to commit at least another two clear fouls, with no card forthcoming. Scottish refereeing is so poor/inconsistent. As for Porteous' spot of breakdancing after a 50/50 with Arfield - that boy really is a complete fanny.

We have played very well tonight .

The purpose of these matches is to help us create top class players, not to win the competition. While winning is always nice and a good habit to form at a club like Rangers, our youth and B teams are there to develop players, not win trophies. Being exposed to sides like Sevilla should help our player's development, or at least some of them. I think the best we can hope for from the team that played yesterday is a couple of them are good enough to make an impact on our first team and maybe another two or three that aren't good enough for us might command a transfer to another Scottish or English side. The rest will be released and rebuild their careers at a different level. If say Lowry and King can push on and become first team regulars this crop will surely be viewed as a success.

Really? Last season he was consistent and consistantly our bedt player. This season he has been hampered with injuries. Played the 1st OF game of the season whilst clearly injured and could barely walk off the pitch, yet he was still our most dangerous player during that game. We are a poorer team when Kent (and especially) Morelos aren't playing or playing below their usual standards and we have nobody to replace them when they are missing or their form drops.

Too many others have been found wanting in critical games.

I served for 16 years in a Regiment where young soldiers having survived eight months basic training, P Company(a 3 week assessment on suitability for the Parachute Regiment) and, two weeks parachute training at RAF Brize Norton; found it hard to resist to run down the Tattoo Parlour and receive an inking.
