That's very decent of you, craig (not the first time you've offered to help out fellow Bears either). π6 points

The problem is money as always. Young guys can be instantly wealthy by leaving and going south. They may not make it football wise, they may not have made it with us but have the money.4 points

Cammy, my teenage son hardly ever gets to games these days as he is in an Academy in Reading - but I am still getting the ST for him as I don't want to lose it (almost on halfway line in Club Deck) - he would, I am sure, be more than welcome to sit beside the ex up there - she could meet you outside before the game and also drop him off to you after the game. Obviously no charge mate - better than the seat going to waste, or me putting it on seatsub Just a thought mate.3 points

I think both are good options as back up. What we need are first team starters.3 points

Patterson might be the ultimate development success. We get a homegrown young player established in the national team and sell him for Β£16m to an EPL club .... without ever having to make space for him in our own team. I wish we could do that a couple of times every season.3 points

Kent's work rate is phenomenal and you are correct regarding him being doubled up on. Since his arrival he's be identified as a threat and dealt with as such. In the "55" season, we had the luxury of SG deploying Tav as almost a "right winger", and maybe a reason as to why Tav's stats are so impressive. I'd have Kent in my team every week as he'll give you 100% and even when it's not happening for him, he keeps at it. I like Scott Wright due to his attitude. He came to Rangers from Aberdeen and has adapted and developed into a Rangers player. His displays at the end of the season as testament to that. Sakala is a strange one - hard not to like him, plays with a smile on his face, at times looks a talent, at times looks like he's never seen a ball before. However, that's us to the coaching staff to develop him. We have missed Alfie and Hagi this season, Alfie for his goals and bullying defenders and Hagi as he brings something different, scores from outside 18 yards and excels in Europe. Alfie is our main striker, absolutely unplayable on his day. Roofe offers a different threat but is hampered by his injuries. Simply can't sell Alfie until we have a replacement signed and bedded into team.3 points

I don't watch them all, but got through to a fair amount of B games this season. Lowry was a standout in certain games, at times he looked head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch. Other games (Bo'ness away, Civil Service Strollers at home spring to mind), he look like he had just been introduced to football. That's not a criticism, that's just how young players are. On other occasions, other players have stood out - Devine, King, McCann, Weston? MCausland etc but never consistently - again not a criticism, it's just how your players are. As fans we have to trust the staff at the club to do the right thing for these prospects and that'll usually be the exact opposite that us fans want.2 points

I think with a run of games he can be a very good asset for us. Decision-making could improve but he is pacy, direct, has a very decent shot on him (going by the weekend) - he could be that answer to Candeias we/you have been bemoaning for a couple of years. With his pace and directness one side and Kent the other, we could be very dangerous next season. Needs consistency though2 points

Serious questions; 1. Do you see Lowry every day in training? How much have you actually seen off Lowry, outwith his games in the 1st team? 2. Would you concede the SG / GVB and their staff (or the RYD staff) know more about Lowry's attributes and what's best for his developments than any of us on a fans forum?2 points
-
Maybe, but at the end of the day it just stunts our own prospects growth. At least we have a chance of growing our youth into our own first team players.2 points

'Too many in our support love the benefit of hindsight, something the management team don't have.' Too true. Its only a few months ago there was a Ross Wilson appreciation thread, now some who agreed then have their knickers in a twist. Incredible how fickle we are.2 points

As soon as i heard celtc had extended theirs i thought poor sales then. I doubt this is any different and the Jubilee is a poor excuse. Money is tight, very tight for many.2 points

As Gonzo says, we are in the business of winning games. Can we risk youngsters ? I would say only if they really have proven themselves good enough or if we are far enough ahead in games (which is an annoyance for me because we should be starting high tempo, trying to get 2 or 3 goals to the good, which then allows the youngsters game time). I see a lot of "but Celtic have been successful bringing young players through" - but how many have they brought through since we actually became competitive again ? None. When they were winning the league by 30 points they could comfortably do so. They aren't in that position now. King and Lowry were getting game time even when we were still vying for the league. If you are good enough you will get opportunities. I would contend those opportunities will be greater just now given the background of Vos.2 points

Congratulations to Tam Cowan on Achieving 'Useful Idiot' Status. UEFA apologised to both Rangers and Rangers supporters on Friday last. Actions not unfamiliar to BBC Scotland. On a day in Seville where the mercury reached 35 degrees Celsius and evening humidity touching 90 degrees, the Guardia Civil turned off the tap water inside the stadium and UEFA agreed with Guardia Civil recommendations to close most of the stadium's refreshment kiosks. The Rangers Doctor dealt with four separate incidents of supporter dehydration inside the ground. The Andalusian para-medics were constantly involved in administering saline solution. Several hundred Rangers supporters experienced uncomfortable to most upsetting issues spanning a six hour period. As expected, BBC Scotland found mass H-u-n discomfort as subject matter to be cruelly exploited by preferred prejudice. Photographs of Bears at watering holes, songs eulogising cool, cool water and, multiple quotes from the Ancient Mariner were in full flow. Viewing the distress of your fellow Scots brought joy and it was not the fault of UEFA or the Guardia Civil; no, dehydration in every case was the responsibility of bevvied Bears. Former PQ employee, Catriona Shearer appeared on Saturday's Off the Ball to articulate her distressing experience at the final. Sixteen years as a colleague meant nothing, she is a H-u-n thus Cosgrove ignored her experience whereas Tam Cowan taunted with playing Marty Robbins Cool Water. RAB Cosgrove made a quip about drinking holy water, Cowan was concentrating on received correspondence, a pregnant silence ensued broken by RAB saying, "we must discuss Rangers supporters singing anti-catholic songs". Catriona Shearer stated, "I am here to discuss the failings of the authorities at the game, I condemn any such singing" and, the Producer moved them all along. The next day, Sunday's Off the Ball had Susie McCabe as a guest. Like RAB, she has a history of liberal usage of the 'H' term. Along with RAB she is there to judge the guilty parties, Tam and the H-u-ns. There is a 15 minute discussion on the day before's broadcast. RAB flashes the show's credentials on anti-catholic chanting and ant-Irish racism. Susie wants everyone to move forward without the old baggage and, Tam joins Graham Spiers in the useful idiot corner. He offers to Chair a two hour discussion on sectarianism next weekend when laying his life bare, "married to a catholic why would I indulge"? Tam should have extended the accuracy before blurring the objectivity. Tam told of Chairing the Reamonn Gormley Diner on an annual basis, "a lad murdered because of the football shirt he wore"? Let us look at that statement. Reamonn Gormley was brutally murdered eleven years ago in Blantyre. Along with a mate, David McFall; both watched the Aberdeen-Celtic match live at the Parkville Bar. The pub was owned by former Celtic player, Harry Hood. Both those charged and convicted of Reamonn's murder, Barry Smith and Daryn Maxwell were also in the bar watching the game. As Raemonn left the premises, he turned off the main drag into a tree lined lane where the armed Maxwell and Smith waited. It was a mugging, they demanded money and the lad's mobile? He refused and was stabbed three times and bled out. All four mentioned attended the same school, St John Ogilvie High School and Smith joined a dating agency on release from jail with the username, 'HappyHooper' - a homage to his favourite player, Gary Hooper. An attempted robbery gone tragically wrong. There were those at the time who attempted to portray the murder as sectarian, it was not. Similar to the Francis Haggerty murder of a dozen years before; the Daily Record's Anna Smith continually told us, "the Police refuse to rule out a sectarian motive for the murder". Francis was the victim of a Paedophile ring. If Tam had utilised the murder of Mark Scott in 1995 at Bridgeton Cross, then he would have been correct, it was undeniably sectarian. We can see an issue about the distress of dehydration among the Rangers support has had the narrative seized and suddenly it is all about sectarian murder. If you are accurate you will be objective has NOT been applied and RAB is NOT going to intervene. RAB is bleating on other means about David Graham's role at Rangers and, his Loyalist political links, all because his partner in Rangers hate, Michael Stewart was forced to apologise publicly to Rangers, Rangers supporters and, Jim Traynor. RAB talks about Rangers needing, "to participate in the removal of doubt" ie remove David Graham. Let's reverse this, RAB bellows about, "Handsome H-u-ns", introduces a guest Janitor from Largs on his show for five years as, "the H-u-n with a Heart" and, pens articles for St Johnstone fanzines referring to Rangers supporters as, "H-u-ns and typical orange bastards". When does PQ participate in the removal of doubt? You will never quench the thirst of the PQ Gang Hut for another Useful Idiot?2 points

Oh, come off it r_s. It's blindingly obvious to any of us who have been on this forum for any length of time that you've deliberately cultivated an online persona and a style of posting that's designed to get under other people's skin. If that's what you want to do fair enough, although I have no idea what it is that you get out of it. What you've got to understand though, is that for most of us this forum is a leisure activity that we have a limited amount of time to enjoy. On the Rangers Chat section particularly, we're here for some friendly banter with fellow fans. I'm sorry to say it, but interacting with you (or even observing you interacting with others) carries with it a severe fun deficit. There are very few times when I find reading your needling, nit-picking and haranguing posts a worthwhile use of time. I doubt I'm alone in feeling this way. As I said, if that's really how you wish to post, fair enough, but don't be surprised if you end up on a few ignore lists.2 points

I wouldn't have played Diallo again after his showing at the paedodome, he's looked more committed recently but still not justified being here.1 point

Suggesting loanees cost us the league is a complete red herring.1 point

I would rate Lowry a bit higher than prospect who in my eyes should have been given far more game time this season than he got. Total waste of that boys talent sitting on the bench.1 point
-
Sure, but why do we bring in untested youth players on loan from England and play them then?1 point
-
I don't think our loanees were responsible for dropping points in Dingwall, going 2-0 down at home to Aberdeen, the late Hearts equaliser or f*cking up a 2-0 lead at home to Motherwell.1 point

The Rangers management team have a tough time with youth prospects. Play them and things don't go well...P45. Don't play them and fans mump about it. It's a huge gamble playing youngsters for Rangers because we have to win every match (which is where I think a bigger league would help).1 point

Different Hearts team and different environment. One was an end of season kick about that had the feel of a friendly match, the other was a domestic cup final and our last chance of silverware. Imagine the outcry if Gio had started King, Lowry and McCann and we had lost. Lowery played very well at Tynecastle but I thought he faded and/or fell out the game in 2nd half. For what it is worth I thought Amad was fine in SCF and his replacement, Scott Wright was excellent. Lowry will get more game time next season, there is no doubt about that.1 point

Young players like Patterson, Lowry, King and Bassey is what makes money. Not many clubs will pay big bucks for guys like Kent and Morelos who are 26/7. Its the way the market goes. Makes sense to get these guys in the team and get them games.1 point

Rory Wilson will soon need game time in a first team somewhere. He wonβt get that at Aston Villa who will probably loan him out to some struggling club at the bottom of a league somewhere where heβll find goal scoring opportunities few and far between1 point

100% agree - he looks to have potential but we won't be able to keep every player that shows potential. As long as we keep producing them.1 point

If you want "visible by the most blind horse" here you go : 1. Aribo isnt a striker 2. Garner, Waghorn are strikers 3. Garner, Waghorn, even as strikers, havent played in a European final and never will. 4. I liked Waghorn but, yes, neither her nor Garner are Rangers standard 5. Aribo played the exact way he was asked to play last week. 6. We deliberately played a false 9, ergo we played without a striker, just as Man City have done this season 7. Aribo still scored on Wednesday night despite not being a striker 8. Aribo also went close in the first half with a curled effort just past the post, despite not being a striker 9. Aribo had more proper chances than any of his team-mates, despite not being a striker 10. Aribo wasn't being asked to chase around the Frankfurt defence, that job was clearly being requested of Wright and Kent to drop in and help the midfield 3 11. Aribo's job was to receive the ball, hold it up, bring others into the game, given we didnt have a recognised striker 12. If you have an issue with "10" above then it should be with Gio, not Aribo. He did the job he was asked to do, scored our only goal, and had more attempts at goal than his team mates. I would contend that he actually did the job he was asked to do. 13. I am not trolling. Just because you disagree with what I say or dislike what I say, doesnt make it trolling. 14. All of the points I make above, IMHO, clearly explain why I am not trolling, as I say at 13 above. 15. Aribo in the last couple of weeks has carried out that role well, he has grown into it. 16. You can say Aribo didn't suit that role or "hardly impressed" there all you like - who else was going to play in that position in the final ? A completely unfit Roofe ? An unfit Ramsey ? A fit Sakala who Gio seems to prefer coming off the bench when opponents are tired and can be stretched ? 17. What were you actually expecting him to do in that heat ? Were you expecting him to be chasing all across the back line or chasing down the keeper all night ? 18. Given we won the SC, were robbed (or robbed ourselves of the league), and made the Europa League final...... I would say that it is just as well that we have Gio in charge and not you... or indeed me. 19. Some of my "likers" - dB, I am not here for likes, that isnt my style. If people happen to agree with what I say so be it. Likewise if they disagree. Does it mean I (and they by extension) are right ? No, not necessarily. Does it mean I (and they by extension) are wrong ? No, not necessarily. I even like plenty of your posts To finish, I WILL partially troll...... the only surprise in your posts here is that you haven't, from what I can tell, gone after your preferred whipping boy of Ryan Kent yet.1 point
