  1. We need to maximise income and Edmiston House is part of the strategy of doing that. I'm sure it will have a much more positive all round impact than many of our signings. Long term planning is something that should be welcomed after decades of ignoring that. Look where short termism took us to, that's why this Board are having to spend tens of millions on capital projects.

  2. The full length thing is only available to RTV subscribers at the moment. Another great decision..

  3. The Board wish to communicate with the fans, but only if the fans pay for the privilege.

  4. Yes. It's about communication with fans and they put it behind a pay wall where only certain fans can access.

  7. There may be some limitations on what can be said in such a forum but the accounts will provide more detail, up to a point. Having been a little underwhelmed with a lack of detail in part 1, that continued in terms of the financials (as expected), but it was useful to refute some of the rumours on the American “investors”, and it was useful to reiterate some of the broader investments that are eating up a lot of cash. I’d prefer more info and more regular communication so Hoping this is a start as without it, nature abhors a vacuum.

  8. Having the interview on the RFC site/YouTube channel is different from expecting people to pay for it via RTV. Thankfully that error (deliberate or otherwise) was quickly addressed so best we concentrate on the actual content now.

  9. It may be a minor point in my view but it is a little irritating that when they try to do the right thing, they contrive to miss the mark in how its released. Hoping part 2 has a little more substance though.

  10. We should all have known that already though.

  11. It was ever thus. The one useful thing I've learned over a considerable period supporting Rangers is not to be too easily panicked and to try to avoid knee-jerk reactions to adversity. There's never a shortage of fans willing to do that for you.

  13. I know this has been fixed but who the hell approved this going out behind a paywall. Just sums up the issues fans have perfectly.

  14. The fans won't really care if the team is winning. We don't need any extra salaries to pay. We need those that are already there to change a little, the way they operate. Instead of fire fighting, David Graham needs to try and get ahead of the curve.

  16. Emperors new clothes. We can all see the state of the squad with our own eyes. Maybe the experts can explain to us how all these multi million pound injured players are suddenly going to get fit and start contributing. Perhaps they can tell us why we shouldn't worry about the contracts and lack of performances from Morelos and Kent. Perhaps they can explain why they spend 8 million on Davies and Yilmaz (not a criticism of the players) when other areas of the squad had been crying out for investment for years.

  19. I think that was probably a mistake rather than any wish to limit who could see the interview.

  20. As always, John speaks well but, aside from a few valid points, the interview lacks substance in other areas. However, that's to be expected in an in-house production so I won't be getting overly upset about it.

  23. I'd imagine there are a fair few season ticket holders and shareholders who don't subscribe to RTV (including me), so yes.

  26. I think Napoli are one of the best sides I've seen at Ibrox. Excluding the usual play acting you'd expect from an Italian team, the way they play the game is exquisite. They might win the group.

  30. A very difficult juggling act. They (current board) are pretty much as good as it will get with regard to sharing the interests of the support. Only, they have to operate with reality.

  31. Buster, I lifted the quote from Dundee United's statement from BBC Scotland's 'Scottish Football' website. As of last evening, BBC Scotland have taken down all reference to the Rangers - Dundee United game and United's statement. I suspect like before, Editorial control is not what it should be and embellishment ensued? Further, early last evening the same website reported Police Scotland were investigating claims from United fans that their section was hit by thrown glass bottles from the home support in the wake of the minute's silence. This report first appeared in the National. Again, there was a difference as a result of lack of Editorial control. BBC Scottish football reported, "the away section was showered by glass bottles". Last night, the entire report was taken down. I did not see any bottles or objects being thrown and, I sit in the front row of the upper tier of the Sandy Jardine(thus good view). However, I am sure Liam McLeod will itemise the number of bottles, where each emanated from and, the colour and contents of each bottle?

  32. You mean you don’t boil frogs after all? What a relief. Look, when the RSPCA heavies arrive just tell them I made a mistake. Ok?

  33. buster, I rarely disagree with you on football and though we have philosophical differences of opinion in other matters they are pretty much within the parameters of tolerance. But boiling a frog! Come on, man. There are limits.

  34. Nearly always impressed by John Bennett, a good communicator who has an air of competence. Seventeen minutes that touched on a lot but didn't really go in to much detail. The accounts and AGM will fill some of those gaps. The rest has fingers crossed for our performances/results to pick up. He stressed that 'expert opinion' states we have the best squad for years. IMO, this is what is being completely misread, it isn't. Some of the players may come good but I refer to this season.

  35. Hope no one paid for that on RTV as it’s now available for free on YouTube..

  36. John Bennett acknowledges SOME valid criticism regards communication from board to fans hasn't been good enough and wants to fix it......A welcome development. I note he uses the example of the Super League when The Sydney Cup might have been a more relevant. Small thing, but wouldn't it have been better communication to have released this interview in its full form, rather than bit by bit. edit I note the full interview is available to RTV subscribers. Given subject matter, not the brightest move, IMO.

  37. The only reason Morelos hasn't really featured this season is .... Morelos. How do you trust a player who knowingly lets you down? It's not as if he just arrived at Rangers.
