  1. So King was happy to sell his shares to C1872 a few months ago at 25p but turned down 40p? This party has £25m to buy shares from King for 14.2% of the club. The board are willing to issue shares at 25p, so if they had got new shares from the club they could have owned 18.5% of the club, which would be £25m better off, but this party would prefer to buy shares from King? 40p a share values the club at £177m. It's inherently loss making and has net assets of £41m so is the valuation of 40p realistic? King, of course, wishes to make this story public after an OF defeat.

  3. Although this will go down well with a section of the support, I'm concerned about the impact it may have on the negotiations that may be going on in regards to the players that Beale has identified for next season.

  4. The rest of the league is weak. The recent rule change, for extra substitutes, favours Rangers and Celtic.

  5. Rangers had a poor weekend, we lost our second match this calendar year. Both losses have been by the odd goal to league leaders, Sellik. VAR played a part in our defeat, a wrestling match at the back post between Alfredo Morelos and Alistair Johnston saw the Columbian stab home for the opening goal. Referee, Kevin Clancy blew up for a foul after Johnston threw himself to the ground. It took VAR a dozen seconds to agree with the whistler's decision. Rangers were united for a change, the players, management team, Board and, supporters wanted an explanation? Subsequently, the Club penned a letter to the appropriate authority. According to Michael Stewart the above is NOT true. No, utilised social media to Tweet. : "Rangers level of entitlement is incredible. Writing letters wanting explanations and apologies for one perceived mistake. I must have missed the numerous other clubs letters this season. St J must have done it after their game at Ibrox". The overwhelming consensus of opinion among Michael's fellow pundits was the goal should have stood. Andy Walker and former Premiership Referee, Dermot Gallagher were adamant in that ra Sellik defender was lucky and attempted to con Clancy by diving forward. Michael reduces the incident to, "one perceived mistake". Michael's beat is coverage of Scottish football and he has missed the seven other Scottish Premiership clubs that have already sent letters to the authorities seeking clarification reference VAR. Michael's former employers, Sellik issued letters twice in one month, November. St Johnstone appealed Nicky Clark's red card, Motherwell had BBC Sportsound and Sportscene to themselves before putting pen to paper, ................... etc Remember, Michael has had to put pen to paper twice when apologising for outrageous remarks made about both Rangers and former PQ employee, Jim Traynor? It must be the, "Rangers level of entitlement is incredible" line that achieved Mick's state of tumescence. I suspect Sellik cracked the whip and Michael came to heel, he was told to support and reinforce Sutton, Hartson, Commons, ...... etc. Given the events of the last month, Sunday morning's imagery of Peter Murrell's £125,000 Motorhome leaving his 92 year old Maw's driveway on the back of a low loader, must have laid him lower than the vehicle's interior lavender backlighting. His sense of adventure being stymied is immediately corrected by aiming another kick at Rangers. Michael is well practised in his incredible level of entitlement.

  6. Also the medical side seems a lot weaker than it was when Gerrard was around. We appears to have gone backwards in that area.

  7. I'm off to raise money to buy a bunch of shares, at 25p, from the club. I'll sell them to Dave's mates for 40p each.

  8. Wilson publicly said it was Gio's calls, while Gio still was with us. I doubt he'd lie about that. If that is the case then it seems strange to criticise Wilson for bringing in players that the manager wants, as many are doing.

  10. 🙋 ...but seriously, that is no reason to keep the status quo. That's exactly the reason we are stuck with this aging and losing squad.

  11. While it might be possible to tighten the job description, I think it would be a massive mistake not to have a director of football going forward. The role is now ubiquitous in big clubs and for very good reason.

  13. I wouldn't be unhappy to see him go BUT the timing isn't good. I would imagine we are well along the path of recruiting players for summer signings. I know that sounds contradictory but I don't know enough of what goes on behind the scenes or how much say he has in signings. I just feel we've made too many poor buys and need to do better.

  14. This is easy to do in hindsight but I remember reading bits and pieces from Southampton fans, and they were delighted he was leaving them to join us. Do we really even need a DoF? We never used to have any such position

  15. DM me for the chance to get in at 40p per share.

  16. It's also just possible that Wilson's job was made all but impossible by a succession of managers who made confused and conflicting statements of requirements to the DoF. The assumption seems to be that our managers have been clear and correct, while our DoF has been inept and ineffectual .... but there's very little evidence I can see to support this.

  17. So King thinks the shares are undervalued, yet knocks back an offer which he himself considers to be a fair value. Filed under the burgeoning folder titled "Dave King Bullshit"

  22. Good way to get a section of the fan base on side. I wonder what sort of compensation we're getting from Forest.

  23. Interesting question. If that is the case then perhaps the appointment of a new chairman might herald more changes than first thought.

  24. Is this linked to the new Chairman? Are other changes in the pipeline? I wonder.

  25. The plans will already be in place. Anyone new won't be able to rip it up at the 11th hour.

  26. I suspect the plans are all in place, but clearly someone else will need to take over negotiations, etc.

  27. I'm more than willing to concede that we've not had the success with our DoF that we want, but to think of ripping up the model is ludicrous to me; it'll set our club back years.

  29. Id take Overmars from Antwerp, he was sacked from Ajax for sexting women but traditionally shaggers have done well for us so why not.

  30. It was probably time for him to go. The two transfer windows prior to MB becoming manager were very disappointing & contributed to GvB’s departure. It’ll be interesting to see if we continue with a DoF. This role evolved whilst DK was chairman IIRC.

  32. Although it wasn't publicised as far as I know, Park also made a bid for the club around that time, but I don't think that's what Murray was referring to. I'm led to understand that Park's bid was effectively zero but taking on responsibility for the debt, and there was no chance of Murray agreeing to that at that point.

  33. Most of Brighton's great recruitment was done under Dan Ashworth, I believe, but Weir seems to also be doing a great job. I can't imagine Weir leaving a team that's 7th in the EPL, with a fantastic recruitment record, to come here.

  36. Exactly this. It played into their hands particularly in the early part of the this season when our injury record was at its height, but now our injury list has calmed down, we are seeing the benefits of it too.

  37. Yes i think you are right on that. I think the criticism of Wilsons role here (from me anyway) is that he should be mitigating the risk of a manager who wants to make signings that may not fit our profile. IE if the rumour of Matondos wage is true, there is perhaps an argument the wage is out with our pay structure for a player of his calibre. Why sign Soutter when you already have the OG centre half crock in Helander etc

  38. There should be KPIs with which the board can hold the DoF to account. I still think any coach worth their salt should be able to get the best out of players at their disposal. If coaches need a perfect mix of players to get the basics done, they should not be here. It's up to the board and the DoF to work out the recruitment strategy. We can only judge decisions made, which is easy with hindsight. We must remember, though, that a 'DoF' does different things at different clubs, and they are responsible for a lot more than just recruitment.

  40. He must have done something right to be approached by a PL side.

  41. I'm mixed. There are no doubts our recruitment strategy since 55 has been questionable. Signing crocks and the likes of Matondo on big wages. But what if that was Gio's call? On the plus side he was able to negotiate great fees for Patterson and Bassey. Would have liked to have given him the opportunity to right some wrongs this summer. But if the EPL megabucks come calling he will be gone. There is also part of me that thinks maybe Beale has come in with different ideas and maybe its best for Wilson to move on.

  42. It was a sitting midfield three of Kamara, Davis and Jack, who are all still here. (Aribo sometimes played there, but mainly further forward.) It doesn't matter who the players are, though. If you're depending on a player in form to be a solution, it's not a proper solution. The solution for SG was using a sitting midfield three; the players were mostly irrelevant.
