  1. I'm on the fence. I think tomorrow will be a big test for young McCrorie away from home in a tough environment. If he comes out of this fixture again unscathed then i'll be more on his side. I still think Butland will be a good signing. Better move quick as the darkside will be looking to replace Hart.

  2. I think you've got to bear in mind that McCrorie has only played in 4 games for Rangers, yes 2 were against Celtic, but he's still relatively untested in a Rangers shirt. I think we have no choice but to bring in an experienced keeper to either push him for number 1, or to be the number 1 with McCrorie pushing him, which for me is preferable. Another way to look at it is that half the games he's played in have been games where he's likely busy. We don't know for sure how he will do when he regularly plays in games with nothing to do for 85 minutes. We don't know how McCrorie will react if he makes a mistake, he may excel, he may crumble. He's also still on the young side for a keeper, so plenty of time. With those unknowns, I think we have no choice but to go out and look for a number 1 and maybe use McCrorie as the cup keeper for example. I can see both points of view as if we don't throw him in, we will never know the answers to the above, but I still feel time is on his side.

  3. Just hope we’re doing the right thing if we’re going for Butland. Can’t help thinking McCrorie would be the better option for No1 and we get some young goalie from Europe to push him for the No1 spot

  4. We’ve played 15 games without Goldson this season and only had 2 clean sheets in those games. One against Championship side. And our league record is 5W 2D 3L. Which is shocking, dropped points more often than not. Hopefully tomorrow is different. Looking at that record, it’s hard to say that anything has cost us more than poor recruitment at centre half last summer.

  5. I would prefer McRorie as first choice over a bloke who was good apart from a crisis of confidence. Anyone know any ex-keepers who could give an informed opinion on McRorie?

  6. Main takeaways: - Goldson an injury doubt - No Lovelace or Rice as they're away on international duty - Other youngsters will feature - Cifuntes deal 'not that close' - Players leaving will be confirmed next week - Is expecting to sign another centre half and considering three at the back for next season

  7. FORGOTTEN Rangers right back Mateusz Zukowski is on his way back to Ibrox with Lech Poznan declining to exercise their buy-out option after a disastrous loan spell. The 21-year-old Pole moved to Ibrox in January last year in a £400,000 four-year deal from Lechia Gdansk and made his debut in a Scottish Cup victory over Annan Athletic. However, he failed to make an impact and fell behind Scotland Under 21s star Adam Devine as back-up to Rangers captain James Tavernier. When he signed on loan at Lech Poznan, the club's sports director Tomasz Rzasa stated: said: "Mateusz has been loaned to us until the end of this season, we also have a guaranteed buy-out option." But his return to Polish football at Lech has not worked out well and he made just two sub appearances this season for the club in the league. And Lech Poznan announced this week Zukowski would return to Rangers, where he still has two-and-a-half years left and faces an uncertain future They stated: "The four players we have on loan - Dominik Holec (Sparta Prague), Artur Rudko (Metalist Kharkiv), Heorhij Citaishvili (Dynamo Kyiv) and Mateusz Zukowski (Rangers FC) will leave and return to their clubs."

  8. We need a back up goalkeeper too remember. In my opinion McLaughlin isn't good enough. So, if you decide mccrorie is your number 1, then you're gonna buy a keeper to be his understudy, that's a hard sell to a good keeper, so we end up with a mclaughlin level keeper. That's not what you want IMHO, you want a bloody good keeper to push young Robbie on and eventually take over. And you want this same rivalry throughout the whole team.

  9. What’s the matter we don’t have money to waste McCrorie has done well in the few games he’s played he has now served his apprenticeship why waste a small fortune on Butlands wages when that money could be used in other positions

  12. But you are just scare-mongering. There is absolutely zero evidence that this is the case

  13. Ah, so that’s where it all went wrong.

  14. I would assume that ever since 2014 or the like, he's been earning serious English league cash on a weekly basis with Stoke et al. I would assume he's earned some 10m by now, so is set up for life anyway - unless he's throwing it away. At some point, people like him might be willing to take a cut in weekly wages and exchange them for a bit of glory, fame, and silverware. "Might", I say.

  15. Think recruitment in general since Gerrard and Co left has been nothing short of woeful. Try Ramsay and Diallo window a spectacular failure. Early signs under Beale look much much better.

  16. Josh said he has nothing to prove as a Rangers player. Has 0 medals. Josh shuuushed the Rangers support after scoring against Patrick thistle while we were miles behind in the league. Josh is a simpleton we are far better off without.

  17. What's the deal with having McCrorie as number one? What does the guy have to do? I understand that it is a relatively small sample size of starts. But that guy Buttman ain't no picture of perfection either. Plus, he is gonna want a boatload of cash. Nah, not having it. I say if McCrorie performs consistently well for the rest of the season give him the job. Get some guy in as second shirt from friggin Mudhutistan and get er done. Bam and bam...club is phobic about their academy talent.

  18. Rumours are he has accepted a huge drop in wages so one would assume he's been "promised" the No1 Jersey. All rumours at the moment, might not be true.

  19. Whatever salary we end up paying Butland, it will be far too much for the backup keeper we actually need.

  20. I like McCrorie but we need an experienced keeper especially for Europe. I would have no issue with us signing Butland on a free

  21. Not sure about this. Would rather keep McCrorie as No.1, buy a cheaper option for no.2 and then the funds went to other areas of the pitch. Just hope we don't end up with a Barkas situation.

  22. Good to see Windas carving a decent career for himself. Didn't mind him when he was at Ibrox - certainly not the worst player of around that time.

  23. Superb, I wouldn't want to lose either Jack or Arfield.

  24. For me great news now similar for Arfield as experience in squad needed.
