  1. The loan to Hearts was a fantastic opportunity for him but he comes back with his tail between his legs. You have to think he's approaching last chance saloon. I hate to see talent wasted like this.

  2. No, you've never understood why people would be different from you, don't worry, it's a common affliction. 😉

  3. Yes, still plenty of time left. This has been a quiet window across football and i expect things will pick up pace towards the last week of it. I posted a few memes as a light hearted joke in this thread but the important thing is to bring in the right players, if that takes to the last hour of the window so be it.

  4. I grew up thinking they were for criminals and homosexuals. My opinion hasn't changed much. 🤣

  5. Surely not Dessers. Regardless of him fluffing his lines against that lot over at the dump, we need strikers. Dessers will do a job for us against SPL fodder. He's getting up to speed with our team and game. Any new strikers will take time. Just go and get Shankland ffs.

  6. Tell that to a seven foot Samoan Tattoos are acceptable for: soldiers, sailors, and South Sea Islanders. No one else.

  7. Yeah Roseburn Stand. I preferred Tynecastle when it was terraced. Used to work with a lot of Hibs and Hearts fans and went to a few Edinburgh derbies at both grounds. Both grounds were always good to visit, but for me Easter Road shades it. Maybe Helicopter Sunday has something to do with me preferring Easter Road - unforgettable day.

  12. Ah yes, a wee trip to Europe might be on the cards on Wednesday then. I'd liked to have gone to the Dumbarton game - never been there. Been to ER enough for one lifetime.

  13. True beyond doubt but some of them think they are. They do the gym work and have fancy outfits and special watches and things. Then the rain comes on and they have to go home.

  14. Forty years past in the wake of the Falkland Conflict, Mrs Thatcher's Government wanted to surf the feel good wave by promoting KAPE(Keep the Army in the Public Eye). They came up with Executive Stretch, a long weekend of middle to senior management from well known companies to participate in a 30 K slog. Mixed groupings of eight Bankers, Accountants, Lawyers, ....... etc from Lloyds Bank, ICI, Honeywell, .... etc were accompanied by both an Officer and senior NCO on a TAB course consisting of kayaking, orienteering, abseiling and culminating on an Assault Course. The first one was based at Garelochhead and the course straddled three lochs and Glen Douglas. Considerable military support was available reference shelter/sleeping, rations and, provision of necessary kit. I believe the idea was to increase understanding on both sides of pressures and demands? We were requested to submit general reports on both the organisation and conduct. I complied suggesting it should be scaled back considerably; a wander and a couple of lunches could achieve the same communication. I received the companies suggestions, they wanted it tougher and demanded individual reports. I was not prepared to offer career defining reports and most others agreed. The entire concept was handed over to the TA and ran for a further several years. It was a recipe for serious injury and disaster.

  17. Two old Scottish teams with plenty of history I think Dumbarton can lay claim to over forty trophies a win first and a good performance is what's needed

  18. Agreed. Their attack is quite decent. Can he smuggle a few back in his suitcase? 🤣🤣

  22. Not much flying inside Scotland. Vladikavkas would be a problem though ... Meanwhile, another rumour sprang up with another Bristol City player, this time striker Tommy Conway (21, English, but chose Scotland). Rangers interested in Scottish striker likened to Jamie Vardy ... never shy of a pompous headline over there, aren't they? Article also has some bits and pieces on Harry Souttar. Quick check - Conway - normal stats at Championship level, contract till 2025. City only has 3 recognized strikers right now though. Quick check - Alexander Lind Rassmussen - 21, Danish, Silkeborg IF (Jan Bartram's old club, IRRC), 20 goals and 7 assists in 72 games, contract till 2026.

  23. would presume it'll be on 'abroad' on RTV. I take it we can go 'abroad' to watch the Dumbarton one too instead of having to suffer viaplay. Gutted I'm not going to ER. Love 'away' days in Edinburgh

  24. Also, the first comment on this thread is... "First off, something to note, the 22-year-old has a fear of flying. This has led to him pulling out of the Denmark U21 side previously and might be worth consideration when it comes to playing in Europe." 🤣

  28. That kind of garbage was generally implemented by the Personnel Manager, who was desperate to gain 'Investors in People' status, to add to his/her own CV. Personnel became 'Human Resources', of course, which caused -still causes- me some considerable amusement, as the personnel 'pros' I have encountered generally looked as human as tailors' dummies and displayed similar resourcefulness. As for FC Midtjyland's adventure training, I should recommend it, indeed insist in it, for all SNP elected representatives, MPs, MSPs, and Councillors. They are aye telling us that we can/should be like Denmark, so it seems fair. Perhaps it ain't quite Highland Hygge, but they can't have everything: they think they can, so it would be a short, sharp, salutary lesson. I would, however, allow them all to have rifles, and ammunition. In the Highland fastnesses, they could only harm themselves, or each other. What's not to like?

  30. Are folk still going on about Shankland? It's not happening.

  31. Its a saving face exercise... Their fans won't be happy if they're perceived to let Shankland go without a fight, so offering him a contract, the biggest contract they can, shows they've put up a fight. They can then blame Shankland for refusing to sign and wanting to leave if he goes
    1 point
  32. Hardly, he's not signed it, yet at least. I suspect Shankland will want a move from Hearts, his star has never been higher, a move to us or the English Championship could set him up financially for life. This is probably his last big contract, I'd be amazed if he signed that, unless there's an attractive release clause.

  33. That's, erm, different. I'd a mate worked for the Royal Bank and his work 'team' decided to do a corporate race thing along the West Highland Way. It was a miserable experience, the weather was shocking, the terrain challenging and their fitness a little suspect. There were 6 of his colleagues and him and they all fell out, a couple of them spectacularly, nearly coming to blows at one point. One went off on the sick right away, another 3 left completely within 3 months. He tells me now they just go to the pub after work like normal people.

  35. We don't need anyone to step in let alone the "league authorities " the same "league authorities " who did nada when they allowed that shower of shite to dictate the narrative. We are in no better a position to guarantee their "precious little fans" safety, nothing has change since they refused their last allocation, they can go F themselves. Perfectly happy with this new arrangement.
