Whatever happens now, let's have no more calling for Clement's head; his team have done him proud.9 points

I disagree. We are seeing signs of progress. What are the alternatives? Sacking the manager and going back to square one (again). And spare me the most successful club nonsense. That has always been an embarrassing and utterly empty title.5 points

I give up. We lost a final to Celtic on penalties. That is progress. I'm done with this.4 points
-
Maybe much of their poor performance was down to us? Just saying...4 points

No matter the starting 11, no matter the subs, no matter the recent results / performances, for the love of God Rangers, just win.4 points
-
I badly want a Rangers win today, and I think we can, but failing to do is not unthinkable. We are still the same team who have stumbled during this season and probably will stumble again. That said, I see the the progress and believe in Big Phil, but we are far from the finished article.4 points

Difficult to believe that CammyF can post here all day, every day, and need this explained. The progress we are seeing is in comparison to where we were a couple of months ago. That is to say we were staring at a hopeless season with Dessers starting every match. It's not in comparison to last season.3 points

Thought it was a stonewaller at the time. The only real surprise Ridvan didn’t get injured missing thet penalty. Bin him off asap.3 points

Until our club come out swinging this will continue to happen. Why wouldn't it? They get away with it as we are run by utter shitbags.3 points
-
Very proud of the team and the gaffer. If not for yet another piece of vartic magic we would have won that game and we are still miles off the finished article. Lets hope our new CEO & Chairman can sort Big Phil a wee Xmas budget for a couple of new players.3 points

It's disappointing but penalties is the best way to lose. And it is the worst way to win.3 points
-
Agree totally. Whatever happens now, this can be seen as a victory, moral if nothing else. A couple of weeks ago, everyone was predicting a massive Celtic victory, saying Rangers always capitulated to them. This has proved that totally false and that the gap has been narrowed significantly.3 points
-
I'm uncomfortable with this level of optimism.3 points

Great 1st half and so important to get the 1st goal. And they have to come out more which should suit us. We just need to keep up this level of performance, we are starting to look like a decent team now!.3 points

Maybe multiple assists and the ability to integrate well with the 3 other attacking players?3 points

Good luck to everyone going to the game today. We don't go to Hampden any more so will be cheering the boys on from home.3 points
-
Despite the recent upturn, I'm still very nervous and apprehensive about tomorrow. Going along more in hope than expectation. However, come kick-off I'm sure I'll have the battle fever on.3 points

Well Mr Thornton and Mr Stewart, if you have the appetite for a fight with the SFA / SPFL, here's you're starter for 10. Over to yous bobby_madden I’ve commented on decisions for over a year and this is one of the very few that are factual. No debate, no subjectively, no ambiguity. There is holding inside the penalty area. Free kick was awarded and should be changed to a penalty. Quite simple and It’s difficult to understand why people are so upset with that opinion. As it’s a factual decision there would be no need for referee to go to monitor. Advice should have come from VAR, referee makes tv signal and awards penalty. That’s it. The referee team had an excellent game and this is a very tough call live. VAR has to identify the offence, again, this is why VAR was introduced.2 points

I was not happy a couple of months ago like the rest of us but let's be realistic. We have lost experienced players and replaced them with young projects and frees and Propper that I always thought was a last minute panic buy. We have no money to sack the manager and lets face it who would take the job anyway given our recent manager sackings? I see enough now to get behind the team. This season was always going to be very difficult but looking forward we can improve the team in January and the summer transfer window. Clement is going nowhere.2 points

I agree it’s been happening for years but maybe this is the big chance for the new chairman & CEO to make their presence felt. Referees are terrified to give decisions against them for fear of their personal safety. And some(Walsh, Robertson & Clancy) are blatantly biased against Rangers. If playing against them was a boxing match we’d need a KO to get a draw2 points

They will have their work cut out but good luck to them and I hope they make a success of their new positions2 points
-
Mr Thornton and Mr Stewart have their work cut out. They start their roles tomorrow and have to hit the ground running and start making real tough decisions that will have a real impact on our financial and footballing operation. Tough gig lads.2 points

Clement has had to endure some horrendous refereeing decisions which have gone against us in OF games. there was another one today? Did you see it?2 points
-
A good effort and a good match for once. We can beat them at Ibrox.2 points
-
We are making progress and that is good enough for me currently. Would now hope to win at Ibrox on January 2nd.2 points
-
Yet again another VAR master class , definite penalty , yet its somehow missed on VAR2 points

It's the hope that kills you. Never looked like winning the game after they equalised. All we had to do was hold the ball in the opening stages of 2nd half, instead we conceded 2 goals. Thought it was the wrong starting 11 and his subs were poor and ended up with no width in extra-time whilst they had plenty attacking options. Don't know where we go from here - some will say we're making progression but sorry, being 11 points behind and lost the 1st trophy of the season isn't progression. No longer the most successful team in football, no sign of us getting close to Celtic over a season. We'll limp to the end of the end of the season, finish miles behind in the league, they'll win the treble and we'll back "the rebuild". Next season we'll be 11 points behind again and arguing whether we should sack Clement. Rinse and repeat indeed.2 points

Exactly what I was thinking. Struggled to put it into words though.2 points

No point blaming him , at least he had the bottle to step up.2 points

We can only lose it now keep playing and the second goal will come b.2 points

Seem fans from both clubs have made a bit of an arse of themselves in the city centre simple solution those arrested should be eating Christmas dinner in the jail2 points

Should be telling Tav to forget meandering up the park and stick closer to the nip than a rash2 points

Don't think the starting eleven will be too far away from Thursdays game.2 points

Tav's been great since he's come back, but I definitely wouldn't start him today. I've seen the Tav Maeda story too many times . . .2 points

Why are we spnding time and energy discussing this when there are so many positives to talk about?2 points

The UBs have used our history for their displays, in fact, if it wasn't for them, there wouldn't have been a display for our 150 anniversary. The UBs aren't perfect (none of us are) but the time and effort they put in is amazing. If you don't like their displays or the sentiments of their displays, why not try organising and creating your own.2 points

Hopefully this is not too negative on the eve of the cup final but what if we lose tomorrow? Are people wanting Clement to go? For a lot of people, I think it will come down to the performance (win, lose or draw). I want him to stay either way as we are starting to see signs of progress with all the young players.2 points
-
It won't be but calling them out would be a real signal of intent and show we are no longer willing to let them away with things. Won't hold my breath though.1 point
-
On the plus side...that was the best they have to offer. We were missing Souttar and big Kasa (with Cortes and Matondo yet to return).1 point
-
I see you waited until AFTER the game to make your point.1 point
-
wow, this is extreme on the old nerves!1 point
-
Don’t think Souttar will make it, a groin strain doesn’t usually settle in 2.5 days so it looks like Propper & Balogun. I’m hoping for Sterling at RB just because Marrs has Tav mentally beaten before KO. Jefte at LB Raskun & Diomande doing the heavy lifting and Hagi in the 10 with Danilo & Cerny supporting Igamane up front. This team will have the best chance to win IMO and even then we have to win the battles and not make silly mistakes. First goal absolutely crucial. Just heading over now, cmon the Gers let’s do this🏆🇬🇧1 point

Great thread so far. Defeat should not cost the manager his job. Things are going in the right direction now.1 point

Thank goodness it wasn't Offord. Best of British to you, Mr Thornton.1 point

Yeah same here. When it was pointed out on the RSC bus my first thought was that it would trigger a few folks both within and outwith our support. Shout out to the UBs for another great display before the game.1 point
