  1. I think you're missing the point. The last time it wasn't his money to burn and that's why he ended up being forced to sell to Craig Whyte. Our club almost died as a result. We do need money - lots of it - but surely we have a bit more pride than going back to this selfish liar?

  2. This is one of the most thought-provoking threads I've ever read. It's 'deleted', yet it exists. It's an existential paradox! Can it be both true, and false? Deep.

  3. Funny how the word "duped" has become synonymous with Murray and is almost never used in any other context. That and succulent perhaps.

  4. Tannadice May 1997, Rangers headed to Dundee United determined to clinch the league title for the 9th season running, 9 in a row was within touching distance. It’s sometimes forgotten that the captain that famous night was Alan McLaren. The £2m defender signed from Hearts two years previous captained the light blues on the night that Brian Laudrup’s wonderful header sealed 9 in a row. Alan was tipped early on in his Rangers career to replace Richard Gough as captain, something he relished on the occasions he was given the honour. Alan Mclaren was a hard solid defender and a vital part of the latter challenge for 9 in a row. So when I sat down with him it was obvious how much he loves the club, the respect for Walter Smith and how much he enjoys talking about his time in a light blue jersey. https://fourladshadadream.wordpress.com/2018/03/08/one-to-one-with-alan-mclaren/

  5. I have to disagree with Bates not having pace, he is very quick to cover behind and shut the ball down

  6. I prefer Bates & Martin, all about opinions but I have not been impressed with Alves.

  7. I doubt that Murray has much money to burn. He may be fairly wealthy but most of that wealth will be tied up in the shares of the companies that he owns. Rangers need cash, and I doubt Murray has a spare £10m lying around.

  8. No, he didn't take ownership of Murray Park. He did transfer ownership of the Albion, IIRC, and the club were paid what seemed like the market rate. There was nothing to suggest that the rental payable was over the top. Again, when the club bought it back, the amount didn't seem unreasonable. It's been a while since I looked at it but that's to the best of my recollection.

  10. There have been rumours about Murray returning throughout the last few years - sometimes, like this, they get extra traction, most times they remain on the general grapevine. Personally I don't see it. Murray's ego may fancy it but his bank, family and brain will not.

  11. If he wants to invest money then let him. Just ensure he can never become the sole decision maker ever again. If his money helps us stop them across the city - I’m not complaining.

  12. I couldn't care less if all the league's top scorers are Celtc players, as long as we win the next two matches against them.

  17. I think we should be winning this match. The most important argument against, as mentioned earlier, is the fact that our opponents can play for a draw.

  18. Four Lads Had a Dream @4ladshadadream · 3h Today’s article on D Murray is false and inaccurate Murray is not interested in a return nor are our board amenable to allowing it to happen Rumour is 18 months old & completely untrue We have huge game on Sunday Ignore the Nonsense, the Irrelevant and the Noise

  19. I think you should seriously reconsider the reliability of your source in that case. As I said, there is absolutely no chance that he'd be back at Rangers. I think I mentioned it earlier that Club 1872 will benefit from a story like this if it was a real threat because many more would rush to protect our club from such a charlatan. I'll sleep quite soundly tonight though because this has less chance of happening than Neil Lennon being our next manager.

  20. How funny would that be if it turned out that we did get a penalty?!?! But it's little posts like this (which they're brilliant at) that put pressure on refs to positively discriminate in their favour.

  21. That's very interesting and makes sense when you see him. Whatever he's doing, he should be telling his team-mates the secret. It's so unusual to see strong players with the agility and speed he appears to have too. I know we've all said this before, but this boy can be a superstar if he maintains his focus. He's got the right physical stature, intelligence, menatality and skill to reach the top in the game. He will still have bad games and make mistakes as he develops, but he's a class act in the making. And to top it all off, he's a Rangers fan. I know Hamilton Accies were happy to get the money they did for him, but it's looking more and more like the signing of the decade!!!

  23. Early summer ! You can often get away with a mediocre defensive line in domestic football but it's often a 'killer' come European competition. Given the balance of our squad, I think McCrorie is a good shout.

  24. We haven't yet got a central defensive partnership that gives you confidence. In fact, neither defence is that good when put under pressure and IMO, it'll be about trying to dominate the midfield to limit exposure.

  25. I'm conscious there may be a knowledge gap with some of this, I've never heard of this for example and I hope Bluedell is right in that it's not true. I was always of the impression he ploughed his own money into the club early on and set us up. He's certainly credited to that effect by the media, even in the piece in question. It doesn't help that we don't have hard facts in front of us. Very true and he has to take the blame for what happened for that reason. He's clearly a gambler and risk taker by nature. Without the full facts I find it hard to go quite as far as unforgivable. Nobody would have suspected Whyte's motives. Why on earth would anyone want to put Rangers into liquidation. He seems to have been tricked and given the benefit of the doubt when he shouldn't have done so. However he seems to have done that out of desperatation. For me deliberate actions are unforgiveable but mistakes aren't. Whyte, Green and his cohorts and Ashley can never be forgiven for me.

  26. Murray put no cash into the club during NIAR and I have no recollection of any sort of loans. He did put cash into the club on 2 occasions. He put in some at the same time as Dave King and also put in cash to help clear the debt that he had allowed to run up around 2004/05.

  28. The only thing I can think of is that he's stung by the opinions of a section of the support about him when in his view he gave us our most successful and exciting period. Yes we all know the end result but he didn't plan it to end like that unlike Whyte who knew from day one what was ahead because he was deliberately engineering it. If Murray really wanted to be involved again in any capacity I can only imagine it to be as a financial benefactor giving us the push we need to become dominant again. It's the only way he could resurrect his Rangers legacy.

  30. Baiting or ... indeed ... clueless. Sinclair has 9 league goals or the like. Morelos has 13 and is on 17 in all competitions excluding those he scored "this season" in Finland before joining up. WIndass is on 16 goals in total, 11 in the league. Morelos has 11 league and 5 cup goals to his name "this season" from Finland too.

  34. Dundee were in the SFL at that point and didn't vote in the SFL vote to "admit" us due to a conflict of interest as they were the team that benefited from us being voted out of the SPL.
