  1. For those interested.... KT has been asked to do Co-comms on ALL of this season’s home games.

  2. The Great Michael. We know Sportscene does not run credits, we also know the show's Producer is a broth of a Blarney Bhoy, Eamonn Donohoe. A Producer at PQ is quite the thing, particularly if empire building is your game. Sellik TV's latest signing, Michael Stewart was sinking fast. The radio Producers had ignored him for ten weeks. However, Eamonn threw him a lifeline and the Great Michael sailed into Saturday night's Sportscene studio on his big white sannies. It's de rigueur within the Gang Hut to sport muckle sannies when presenting. Michael appears sunkist, has ran a blond tint through his glittering young Adonis locks, and is replete in compliant plimsolls. He will be circumcising the globe soon enough and that's no skin off a bluenose. Michael took his lead from brother-in-trainers, wee Jonathon. Asked for his comments on the next day's games involving both halves of the old firm, like a good Sellik TV employee, he launched into a well rehearsed spiel. Morelos has chucked it, French Eddie has sprinted forward. St Mirren have a chance, Killie will be hoping to keep the score down. Eamonn put Michael where other Producers dare not, and no one on BBC Scotland has mentioned Stewart's Sellik TV connections. Of course, being an uber, flag waving nationalist, the former Man U dud will know the Great Michael was the biggest ship ever constructed by the Scottish Royal Navy. In the first years of the 16th century, King James iv ordered the construction of a 1,000 ton ship. Scotland was reputedly the wealthiest country in Europe at the time, but after James falling at Flodden field, the ship was sold to the French for a song. We could not afford the maintenance, a lesson PQ must learn reference Sellik TV's Michael and his big sannies. Targetry? DrStu' and Tam targeted Rangers TV on Saturday. A competition no less, a mug was to be presented to the listener who came up with the best line reference Clive Tyldesley. Two hours of teasing, Tyldesley was bound to throw in a few 1966 England world cup winning references during commentary? They read out a dozen of the better entries. Hoping and wishing something will happen is not the same as an actual happening. It's like Tam's bestie, Andrew Wilson telling us Scotland's economy would thrive when selling oil for $115 a barrel. DrStu' had his dander up, and the Herald's Chris Jack was next up for ridicule. DrStu' spluttered, "Chris union Jack, aye thats wit thur calling him". See when DrStu' gets aw couthy, the wit? Anyway, DrStu' will have another opportunity to target Rangers TV this coming Wednesday, his favourites will be subject Tyldesley's commentary. Big Dick sees dead people. During the Motherwell v Dundee United match at Fir Park, Big Dick decided to comment on 'Well's cardboard cut-out fans behind the goal. You know the gig? Fans pay between £20-£30 to have a photo put on the seated cut-out. Motherwell teamed up with a mental health charity and decided to leave dozens of the cut-outs faceless, highlighting those folk that go missing every year. Big Dick was non-plussed at the faceless ones, "they look dead". Heartening news for relatives worried about missing family and friends? Still, it could have been worse, he could have wanted them transferred to Edinburgh Zoo for exhibition. Coverage? On Sunday, BBC Radio Scotland produced no coverage of Rangers v St Mirren. Billy Dodds broadcast a minute long half-time report, and a two minute full time report. All garnered from Rangers TV. Rugby Park coverage was full live commentary, and the Blarney Bhoys, Pat and Tom. Sellik supporting Julie Fleeting was thrown in to balance things, she teaches school in Kilmarnock. Sunday night's Sportscene had wee Jonathon, Craig Gordon, and Shaun Maloney, all in big white sannies. You cannot blame them on their choice of footwear, it must be most difficult to maintain balance.

  3. I think the lack of crowd helped us. We had several chances early that were blocked or saved. I think after the first few, the crowd would start their moaning and that would hamper the team. As it was, we kept plugging away and were solid defensively too without getting nervous from the crowd. I was still frustrated with the lack of quality in the final third, overall, but we kept plugging away and controlled the game. I just wonder if we could have kept it up with a baying crowd?

  4. On Wednesday evening, I would settle for the execution of one particular Barbour jacket wearing PQ toady, a renowned "football historian" with a penchant for Northern Soul. Put to the sword after his beloved team has, of course.?

  9. Barisic crosses may become even more productive when he has Itten in there lurking. I expect to see more than one ball fly off the head of Itten and into the net from a Barsic cross.

  10. At a club level, Rangers have amassed 18.0 coefficient points, Celtic have chipped in 16.5, Aberdeen 3.5 and Kilmarnock 1, giving Scottish club an average coefficient of 9.750. To put the achievements of Scottish clubs into context, Liverpool amassed 18 coefficient points with Real Madrid contributing 17. https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/18622952.remarkable-coefficient-stat-no-one-talking/

  11. As I suspected Bayer are eliminated in the very next round. Completely outplayed by Inter who should have been out of sight were it not for some good goalkeeping and some very poor finishing. Having watched Bayer again there I am more certain than ever that Braga were the best opponent we faced in Europe this year, but perhaps it was our lucky escape we didn’t play Inter, they looked excellent and will be hard to prevent lifting the trophy.

  12. On Saturday, there were a few moments on Off the Ball where DrStu' allowed the curtain to be drawn back. In his 68th year, he has a thin skin. The website, 'Pie and Bovril' came up in conversation, and DrStu' mentioned there was a thread on said forum entitled, 'Off the Ball - is it any good'? Now, Pie and Bovril and DrStu' are old friends. The forum is a focus for serious Rangers hatred and it's owner, a St Boo fan called, Div McDonald was a regular guest on Off the Ball for several years. Really, it was a mutual masterbation brought on by the stimulation of Rangers hating. Over these last two years, there has been a parting of the ways. McDonald no longer appears and threads like the aforementioned appear on the site, generally castigating the tired and lazy pairing that is Cosgrove and Cowan. A few weeks ago, DrStu' was openly stating he needs another five years on prime time radio, it's the exposure. Some hip young gunslinger approaching 75 years. His skin is thin and Pie and Bovril's threads are not helping his cause. On Saturday, he announced football forums were quickly dying and wondered aloud about Div McDonald? He said, "Div McDonald, where is he, we should get him back on, he'll need £30 these days". Here's a guy boasting a property portfolio in 3-4 countries trolling a former mate, offering him thirty quid if he gets back to fawning behaviour. DrStu' the toad is a classy guy.

  14. Whit? Good specs matter it seems???? apologies. Either way Kamara has started well this season
    1 point
  15. Indeed. He's started this campaign so much better than he finished last season, when he was not only routinely poor but appeared to down tools in frustration on a couple of occasions. A very welcome recovery, I thought we'd lost him.

  16. Apologies if it's been posted nut I thought there should be a special mention for Kamaras through ball for the 3rd goal yesterday. It was a beauty. Kamara gets a lot of stick so it's good to see him making a contribution like this.

  18. You would assume so but it's the current offering on their website today, so any confusion is probably intentional on the day after "the champions" fell on their arses. There's nothing I can see that explains how these names are chosen ... but I think we all know that's not an issue for the SPFL.

  19. Who picked that team I wonder ? ????? shifty McLennan & wee Roly-poly ?? They don’t even hide it anymore do they?

  20. I’d hardly say a point behind at the break was HUGE pressure. And, unless I’m mistaken, we played ahead of them in the first game after the break and dropped points, reducing the pressure on them right away.
    1 point
  21. Well, they were under huge pressure after December 31st last year and they came through it and we crumbled. We need to show we can match their mental strength because there's no hiding that it's an area we've failed in.

  22. Indeed. My point wasn’t so much that they BOTH get high at the same time (although yesterday they did with Borna’s cross being challenged at the back post by Tav which resulted in a. Corner and our 2nd or 3rd goal). But if one of them is generally consistently playing higher up the pitch - Barišić was higher up the pitch against Aberdeen than the midfield 3 and the same applied for large swathes of the match yesterday..... then IMHO you cannot legitimately claim we are playing with 4 defenders and 2 DM’s. in name they may be as those are their “natural” positions but Borna in particular has been more a left winger than a left back domestically this season. That’s NOT a back 4. and completely agree regarding having the 2 DM’s.... they, or at least one of them, pivots and drops allowing either Tav or Borna to bomb on. Again this makes sense to me because Barišić can be lethal with his crossing. Also agree we seem to be learning in that Tav gets forward but is better through the defensive to offensive transition... so let Borna be the constant attacking danger and Tav does it when the ball is in transition. i think it’s very smart of the management team.

  23. Ideally we would be pumping teams 3 or 4 nil by half time. Because that then allows us to get fringe players, and youth players, game time - which is much easier to do this season, if winning comfortably, given the substitutes rule.

  24. I endured the highlights of their game last night. Their goal was a keeping mistake - Christie scores direct from a free kick from 40 meters ? Had Kabamba been a bit more pacy he would have been through 1-on-1 in the first half before either side had scored. Jullien looked like a Sunday pub player. Killie deserved AT LEAST a point. But they will also get better - we need to maintain that 2 point gap so that the first OF game heaps pressure on them to get a win to stay in it....

  25. Right dodgey on a cross as well that nearly let them back in it. Made a really good save from the lose ball. Seems a good shot stopper. I thought McGregor was great v bayer

  27. It is good to see how much Barisic has come on. He is starting to look like a leader, full of confidence and taking iniative. We'll do well to hold onto him.

  28. I've only seen the RTV highlights (11 minutes long!) but it was quite incredible how many chances there were. From the highlights it really seemed like a bombardment. I really liked that third goal. Tap ins are the kind of goals we want to be scoring because they are normally the result of breaking a team down with good play. Who knows how long Morelos will be with us but if that is his final game I'm delighted he has signed off on a more positive note. And it doesn't feel like much of an achievement but another clean sheet is always good to get. Counting friendlies we have now kept clean sheets against Nice, Lyon, Coventry, Aberdeen at Pittodrie, Motherwell and St Mirren. We conceded 1 to Leverkusen. Sure, we do expect to keep clean sheets against the level of opposition we are now facing in the league but I think the signs are good. And I wish I had seen more of Balogun but from what I'm reading it seems we have unearthed a much higher quality centre back than any of us expected too which could be crucial when the inevitable injuries and suspensions take their toll. Plenty to be optimistic about at the moment and we have Itten and Roofe's contributions to look forward to.

  29. “He gets my vote. His all-round game was good. His focus was really strong. When you’ve got that talent and you approach the game in the right way, then your numbers are going to come. He got a good assist, so that’s two for the season, and two goals. But I thought his all-round play deserved those numbers.” Who am I to disagree with Steven Gerrard's assessment of Morelos as MotM?

  30. We seemed to be attempting more shots from further out, which was good to see, although most were blocked quite easily.

  31. I don't think McLaughlin is good with his feet at all. There was a simple pass, where all he had to do was roll it out to Goldson, but he over hit it and Tavernier had to scramble to keep it in. He's a decent replacement for McGregor, but I think his poor feet will cost us chances and goals.

  36. Decent result. Happy for Buffalo to get back on score sheet. Hopefully, it boost his confidence as i did think he was looking a bit lacking in that department earlier games. . Gonz, if we were 20 clear at xmas, the spfl would just cancel the season anyway. Null and void of course

  37. I am delighted we are 2 points clear of them but being honest, we could be 20 points clear at Xmas and I'd still be nervous. We just need to keep winning. I was happy to see Morelos start. The wee man is a cracking player who should be utilised as long as he is here.
