  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7067642.stm Should Scottish players be involved or not?
  2. very good quality, possibly too good to be from a passenger plane. It's my new wallpaper all the same.
  3. I've not seen someone with such a bad first touch for a long time (perhaps Sebo). His second touch is a tackle!!! How must the younger players feel? IMO if I was a promising u21 player and Faye was picked ahead of me it would be a total kick in thr stones for my confidence and prospects. Is WS trying to tell us that if Adam and Hemdani are injured we have no one better than Faye that can play in that position? Very worrying indeed:confused:
  4. Totally agree with most of the comments here. When is WS going to realise that 1 man up front is not going to going work. If I remember correctly PLG did the same and look what happened their!! Also if we want to win any trophies this season then we have to be a lot more consistent. We can't just raise our performance for the big games we have to play well every week.
  5. I never normally buy a program but my brother got one for a friend and I was reading it at half time. I was studying the sceptic squad and to be honest it's the first time i've really looked at what they have available this season and IMO it doesn't worry me at all. Their squad is quite small and their defence is shocking and in their entire squad there are probably only 2 players I would like in the Gers squad and thats Mcmanus and Brown. I don't think we have anything to worry about. If we can just become a bit more consistent and build a lead over this mob the title is there for the taking. Mon the Gers
  6. I'm showing my age here but my first tape player/recorder only had a single deck. If you wanted to record from a mates tape you had to press play on his player and hold your tape recorder next to the speaker while recording. Hard times indeed. Now you can store over 3000 tracks on something the size of a fag packet
  7. Just changing the subject slightly. I remember when we were flying into Niece for the Monaco game a few years ago, we hit some bad turbulance while we were circling to land. We started to do the bouncy and the next thing the plane hit an airpocket and the plane just dropped for a few seconds. I've never experienced anything like it before or since. Very scary!! Was anyone from here on that flight from Glasgow? I can only imagine that if it were to happen on the subway it would also be very scary especially if there are young kids or elderly on board.
  8. Ahhh mix tapes.........that brings back memories. I'm sure i've still got a few hidden away in a drawer somewhere. After reading this i'm tempted to go and listen to them again. I'll bet there are a few shockers! Like you Cammy, my tapes were a complete mash up of anything I was into at the time. The skill with taping from the radio was stopping the recording just before the dj started talking again.
  9. I think before last week Lyon had only lost once at home in the CL. Also no one gave us a chance, every pundit predicted that Lyon would win. With celtics match against AC Milan quite a few people predicted that Celtic would get a result so based on that, imo our result was a bigger upset.
  10. Totally agree that WS got it wrong on Saturday. IMO we shouldn't be playing a 4-5-1 or 4-1-4-1 at home. Now I don't know what is going on behind the scenes and I've not seen the players in training but if we are going to play this formation (which is designed for counter attacking plays) we need to have a lot more attacking pace in the midfield i.e Beasley, Burke, Novo etc but we actually played with 3 defensive midfielders Hemdani, Thomson and Whittaker and another with no pace, Adam. Barry also had an off day. The tactics were all wrong and I hope that we can learn from these recent mistakes however, I thought last season was the time to get those out of our system. Worryingly WS didn't make any changes either at half time or immediately after they scored. It was almost 10 mins after they scored before the first subs came on!!
  11. Wenger without a doubt. To have the foresight to turn Henry from an attacking midfielder into one of the worlds most lethal strikers. To spot undeveloped talent like Anelka, Viera, Fabregas is something very special. Although Mourinho has won the UC and CL his football is not particularly techinal or enjoying to watch and I would question some of signings even with the money he had at Chelsea.
  12. No one can doubt his goal scoring ratio and don't get me wrong I am actually a fan of Boyd but how many goals has he actually scored against top notch oposition, ie in Europe and the scum. Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't Flo have a superb domestic goal ratio but struggled against better opposition and look how he was slaughtered! (ok there is a difference of approx £11m but you can see my point)
  13. Yeah Boli scored and they won 1-0. After the bribe scandel was the tournament declared void that year or are Marseille still shown as the winners?
  14. Last night on RTV. What a game and what a performance against some of the biggest names in world football, Barthez Desailley (sp) Deschamps Sauzee Boksic Voller Ian Durrant's equaliser is still one of my favourite goals of all time. Hopefully this season can be just as memorable
  15. Firstly what's the point of chosing a loan player ahead of one of our own long term prospects IMO we should only chose the loan players as a last resort. When injuries/suspensions leave WS with no choice. So Faye should not be on the bench ahead of Hemdani, Adam, Gow or Burke. Secondly I actually think that SW complements AH very well on the right side. I agree he is not the most creative but the overlap option can be very confusing for opposition defenders. The fact that SW can comfortably cover for AH when he goes on his attacking runs forward and vise versa makes for a more secure unit. The longer they play together IMO this could become quite an interesting partnership.
  16. Trailio

    Taxi!!!!!

Very funny. I've already used a couple of your jokes in the office today with mixed reactions. Well approx 80% are beggars.:uzi:
  17. If you take Brazil, Argentina and Mexico out of that list we're 11th in Europe!!! Unbelievable. How important are these rankings when deciding our seeding for the next WC qualifiers?
  18. So you sat in front of the telly with a camcorder??
  19. I've gone for Hutton because his two runs that led to the goals, but there were a few contenders. Barry was outstanding and I thought JCD worked his socks of again.
  20. I took some video when the teams were coming out. It looked great. I've not got the camera with me today but I'll see if I can get it onto youtube asap.
  21. Yeah i should have pointed this out however, I can also say they also were not sceptic fans and have no bias towards or against Rangers players
  22. Agree with everything you say Frankie however, I spoke to a few people today who had watched the game last night and they commented about the full backs being the weakest part of the Scotland team. They singled out their poor distribution as factors. I agree that we need to do better than Alexander but I thought the criticism of Hutton was harsh even though he probably is more effective when pushing forward.
