  2. Just been reading the game thread and the negativity is staggering. Great start to a game which we had all been calling for, matched Hearts for fight and won the midfield battles, created chances, took chances, defended well enough with Davies looking good, and should be 3 up at the break. Second half with a 2 goal lead and a man advantage was always going to be game management and look to hit on break, that is Gios preferred style. We’ve been able to make subs and control tempo, and now got a third. I can’t ask for more.

  3. Hahaha how's that a foul? Worst decision of the season and that takes some doing.

  4. All this deep analysis and steadfast refusal to be happy about a good away win. Seriously, what's happened to us that we can no longer just rejoice in victory without qualifying every positive and studiously listing every negative in minute detail? It wasn't always like this. I'm sure we used to just enjoy being a Rangers supporter.

  5. Given that last time out we were less than convincing against the bottom team at home, i was not overly confident about todays game, so a 4-0 away win against third placed Hearts is a pretty good result imo . Only negative being, we could have put a serious dent in the goal difference had we been more clinical.

  6. You have to be kidding with this? Thats the best we have played for a long time away from home. I actually thought we played better when they had 11. I am delighted with that today.

  7. Next week we will be playing the third placed team again, St.Mirren at Ibrox. They are on a good run and the game comes after our visit to Liverpool. They have conceded 8 in the league, same as us. 4 clean sheets, same as us. Low Block Coming Up. Eye on the ball and keep the domestic run going (2 and counting.....)

  8. Disagree here, we were at it from the off and scored after 5 minutes, 2 up on 30 minutes and looked comfortable for the whole match. Much better from us and now we just need to keep going and try to put a wee run together. Great 3pts, 4 goals, clean sheet.

  9. Porteous looks decent from time to time but I'd prefer to stick with King.

  10. Robbed of a third. Ridiculous decision to rule out Arfield’s goal.

  11. Kent needs to produce big style today. His performances of late simply haven’t been good enough.

  12. Would be nice to see the team fly out the traps today. There's a first for everything, right?

  13. Gio says he has no idea on a timescale for Helander. No timescale suggests we might not see him again in a blue shirt. "Ben (Davies) is back in the squad" He has been sat on the bench for the last three games, which dates back to early September. The question should have been, why hasn't he came off the bench. I'm actually fine with playing Leon King. Roofe is back training bit/big* parts of the traning session with us and that we need to keep assessing him. Still vague and a long time since he played (nearly 6 months/not counting 2 minutes of EL Final). *not sure which he said Ridvan has struggled to adapt on various levels but that situation would seem to be improving. TBF Barisic has played well and on the face of it, doesn't deserve to be dropped. Lawrence still out Why was he kept on the park after he got injured, against an already beaten Ross County ? Why after the more offensive tactic worked against Ross County did he go back to a double pivot against Dundee United ? I hope Gio looks and sounds more convincing in the dressing room. I have to force myself to watch his pressers.

  14. Yeah maybe but you don't take a photo and look at it every day.

  15. A few interesting stats I picked up from commentary today (not checked them tho!) - Tav has never scored against Hearts. - Kent has scored more goals against Hearts then any other club. - if Alfie scores against them in next game, he gets to keep them

  16. A better performance today with more positives than negatives so why all the foregoing doom and gloom?.

  17. Porteous is easily wound up & distracted. He would be a liability playing for either Rangers or Celtic

  18. It's also possible to praise the result, but be disappointed with the performance. We'll need to leave it there. You don't understand my position, I don't understand yours. Fair enough. "The hour of departure has arrived, and we go our ways, I to [mope over a poor performance], and you to [glory in a good result]. Which is better God only knows."

  19. i disagree the effort was far better. it eased off second half that natural with 30 games to play this month and anfield soon.

  20. So you didn't see any positives in the performance? Colak with two goals (again)? Kent with a great assist and wonderful goal? JL bossing the midfield for the entire game? Limiting Hearts to 1 shot on target? The free flowing moves for the 2nd and 3rd goals? A solid defensive performance and clean sheet? Subs contributing when they came on? Destroying Hearts at Tynecastle when most were fearing a battering? Can we play better? Definitely. Do we need to play better to win league? Definitely. I've been critical of Gio but if you can't see how anyone can't take any / many positives from todays performance.

  21. Liverpool 0-2 down to Brighton after 18 minutes !! It'll be a breeze down there 🤗

  22. Don't say that, ...we need him to keep his eye in beyond Xmas.

  23. Excellent result and a mostly energetic performance from a team that were up for it. Getting on top of Hearts at Tynecastle early is important and boy can Colak finish. Best finisher at the club since (excepting the obvious Defoe) Jelevic ?? I thought Hearts played in a style that suited us down to the ground and they missed their first choice central defenders. Next week at home to St.Mirren will show us better where we are in compared to before the break. ie. direct comparison playing against a low block. Regardless today has set the right tone. The BIG test is winning 7, 8, 9 league games in a row.

  24. Disagree, if you are not on it at Tynecastle you struggle. We controlled the game from start to finish. Yes the red card helped, but we were 2-0 and coasting. We limited Hearts to very few chances and looked the most likely to score. If we were clinical, we'd have won by 7 or 8 today. We are not firing on all cylinders but today was an emphatic victory and a good performance at one of the toughest away grounds in Scotland.

  25. Really need to kill games off. At 2 up against 10 men we should have showed no mercy. The horseshoe just slows things down and removes the momentum.

  26. Disappointing and disjointed after half-time but no arguments about the result and a fortnight's break can affect fluency. Hopefully the players can take some heart from a fine away win and we're back at the top of the table for an hour two at least. Enjoy your weekend, bears!

  27. We are playing like the score is 0-5, which it ain't, but it is a dangerous ploy, esp. with this referee.

  28. The Referee's an idiot. He should have stopped the play when it hit him. You can't then pull it back because the fans are having a tantrum.

  29. There can be no justification, whatsoever, for disallowing Arfield's 'goal'.

  31. Nothing! goal should have stood!. Foul on the keeper was why it was cancelled, despite the keeper running into Matondo

  32. Gordon's already lost the ball before Matondo collides with him?

  33. No arguments over a red card. Can’t quite believe he looked so affronted

  34. How have we had two yellows and they have had none? Bizarre refereeing

  35. That's exquisite. The cross-field raker, the 1-on-1 with Matondo, the pass, the Colak finish. YAAAASSSSS!!!

  36. Davies? Aye bizarre and to get a yellow for that is shocking

  37. Big chance for Davies to shine today. Trying to be upbeat about this, but experience tells me that we are prone to taking one step forward and two back. Hope to be proved wrong though.

  38. Think you can say same for most of that starting 11......

  39. Good to see Davies starting. Shame for King, though. I still think we should be making room for him.

  40. He is definitely an asshole. Every team needs one. Especially if Fredo is leaving the club at the end of this season. We will have an opening.

  41. The Whiff of Spliff. Andrew Phillips resigned from the role as the SFA's Compliance Officer on the 1st of September. I suspect Phillips successor flashed the necessary credentials this week? Michael McKeown of Callahan, McKeown and, Company, Renfrew was up before the Scottish Solicitors' Discipline panel due to choosing to pay a £325 fixed penalty for possession of the class B substance, cannabis. Payment of the fixed penalty ensures Michael does NOT have a record of criminal conviction. However, the professional Disciplinary panel found McKeown guilty of professional misconduct. Further, his behaviour was deemed, "serious and reprehensible". The circumstances surrounding Michael's actions during the Spring of 2020 ensure he is very much Neil Doncaster's man for Compliance Officer. The partner aged 54 years was not working when a regular client called him to attend Glasgow Sheriff Court. He reached the main doors security and informed the Police he was attending to represent a client. The Police doubted his credentials because Michael was wearing a Sellik jersey. After loud remonstration, he was searched and a bag of cannabis was found in his trouser pocket. Michael explained he was suffering from stress and a friend had given him the drug to aid relaxation and help with sleep deprivation. He had forgotten the dope was in his pocket. The Panel found that Michael was acting in a professional capacity when he attended the court and should not have had an illegal substance in his possession. The Panel agreed a censure was the most appropriate outcome. This means Michael can continue to operate as a Solicitor, essentially it is a reprimand which does not impact on his ability to practise law. It is believed Neil Doncaster does NOT object to the 56 year old Lawyer wearing his Sellik jersey to work whilst acting as Compliance Officer? Michael has pointed out he owns the Sellik away top too.
