Now I've let you all build up a lead, I'll start playing properly.....5 points

I read that Houston receives a salary from C1872. He was previously employed by the club, I believe, presumably under King's watch, so perhaps he's bitter about losing his job? Not 100% sure about my facts on this, but it's just what I've read online. It does appear that C1872 value their relationship with King higher than their relationship with the club.3 points

Nothing very interesting gets said in football interviews and I don't think Beale's was any different. Let's see what happens on the pitch.3 points

I was against GvB, then got swept up in the excitement. That didn't last long...3 points

I actually posted against him coming completely in the new manager thread. Since that post and by the time it was strongly rumoured he was coming I had completely flipped on the view. I had a look at some QPR stuff, watched some of the podcasts/blogs he had done and was bought in. Some of his comments on the 55 season about not winning enough that year really resonates. I think his profile and outlook as a manager fits with our club ambition of this fabled 'player trading model'. He will profile and target top young talent to come here and develop them. Hopefully he can deliver results and silverware. Ultimately as a club I dont think we are in a place to go out and get an experienced winner or someone with a pedigree in a big league in as a manager. I dont think that lot across the city are either.3 points

I call for a points deduction for speaking about yourself in the third person. Who's with me?3 points

Thinking of suing them myself for lack of decent football and team effort 😃2 points

Is this you slowly coming round to the new Manager then?2 points

Somewhat telling that Devine was being used as the left back in the training videos. May suggest Yilmaz is still a bit away from a return. No game-time yet for Borna in Qatar so hopefully he'll come straight back into the squad upon his return.2 points

He was feeling his hamstring in the last or penultimate game before the break.2 points

Good to see Lowry, Roofe and Lovelace all involved. Yesterday's video also had Goldson and Souttar at the training ground so hoping those two aren't too far away either - same with Yilmaz.2 points

Saw the Sky News interview last night. He spoke very well. I am excited to see if he can get a tune out of this team.2 points

The truth is it would be better for Rangers and the vast majority of supporters if Club1872 stopped its embarrassing vendetta and went somewhere very far away where we never had to hear from it again.2 points

Just watched and that was a bizarre q&a in my view. King queries where all the money has gone yet clearly has access to the annual report the same as the rest of us. he complains the board are going in a different direction by not investing in the way he would, yet seems to have completely forgotten that one of the things this board has done is pay back the loans from king. we heard a question from Craig Houston too, though no mention was made of his job with c1872, so presumably he was there in a personal capacity. His questions focused on the board and whether others still there might share some of his views. DK responded but Houston clearly holds contempt for the board, something he is entitled to of course, but how on earth that squares with his role at c1872 and presumably trying to work productively with the club? There were other things that occurred but I just had to get that off my chest immediately. My last remaining token contributions and therefore membership of c1872 is likely now to be cancelled.2 points

Everyone out of contract at the end of the season. If Kent & Morelos won’t sign new deals punt them in January2 points

Lineker now talking about the Soviet Union and freedom of expression. How high is his sanctimonious horse!? Is it as high as his massive salary?1 point

Plod probably. But read they have applied to play at home rather than moving it to Kilmarnock1 point

You are correct. C1872 made an announcement on it and yes he did work at the Club at King's behest alongside another person who is in the shadows at C1872 - Chris Graham I've no idea of the jobs they do, in all honesty. And i've no axe to grind against them personally, but this whole thing has lost any credibility. I haven't wanted to say this and have held out as long as I could, but I think C1872 needs to die. No idea what that would mean for all the shares they are responsible for, but they only have themselves to blame.1 point

Didn't Club1872 advertise the role the Houston got? Sure saw this somewhere?1 point

The article above that discussed MB's tactics at QPR stated that he likes a 4-3-1-2. I can see this working well for us. It could, perhaps, get the best out of Morelos and Colak, Sakala, Hagi, Kamara, Tillman, Tavernier and Yilmaz. It could even be beneficial for Kent: let him play as the #10 - which he has done before under SG - where he can pick the ball up and just run, left or right, then pass it out wide to the WBs or feed it into the forwards, without getting boxed-in against the touchline. (He can't cross, anyway... !)1 point

It was a good interview. He said lots of the right things. I'm looking forward to part 2. A couple of comments that stuck on me. He thinks the squad is in a good place. I'm hoping that's lip service and a few players cards are marked. He mentioned the injuries have had a big impact on things. Other than Goldson and Hagi the rest are either perma-injured or dont play. So i hope he doesn't get his hopes up that they will find a miraculous recovery. He also mentioned 'taking the handbrake off'. I hope that he can, many of this team seem to be permanently towing a caravan. I have no doubts he will move people on and bring in his own players if anyone here isn't up to standards. He will have a long list of younger players in the EPL and Championship that he will bring in.1 point

A couple of things that stood out in that interview was his 'get back to standards' comment - quite telling I think, and also the reiteration that he's no one's friend, he's the shouter, the disciplinarian. Good interview, can't fail to be impressed.1 point

He's just in the door and has no choice but to get the best out of the players he has inherited ... be honest, what do you expect him to say?1 point

Yeah find it difficult for anyone to justifiably blame the fans for this. Just clusterfcuk number 3326 from the board.1 point

I'm still in shock at us getting drawn away?! Where were the warm balls the Jungle Jims always go on about!1 point

Beale has been in the door for 5 minutes and buster is worrying about alignment with the board. It is not possible to take that seriously. I feel very positive about the finances. Not perfect but I think that we are in a better position than we have been for a very long time. Experts might correct me. Either way we will be in an even better position when we free up the wage donated to Morelos, Helander et al. As pointed out elsewhere the act of managing expectations has zero purpose when dealing with football supporters. We will be happy if we win and angry if we lose. The idea that this will change if only we had some 'communication' is a very silly fairy story. Finally he makes a bizarre plea for leadership. In my estimation leadership has little to do with acting on the endless stream of irrational complaints that will come from any support. Again it is impossible to take stuff like this seriously. Almost every time that an opportunity to take responsibility emerges, in the form of shares, you will hear little above the cacophony of excuses.1 point

Christ no, there's folk on here still shouting about Gullane 🤣1 point

I hope we got our legal affairs in order this time. If we have to pay anything, it comes out of Bisgrove & Robertsons bonuses. How they 2 kept their jobs over this I dont know, but if it ends up costing the club a large sum, then Robertson's job especially is completely untenable. Also funny to see how much they claim they lost due to us not taking part as they couldnt sell tickets without us. I thought it was all about Ange, and the magnificent worldwide reach and appeal of the bheasts, so the opponent wouldnt have mattered surely? All about the Rangers.1 point

Agreed. That's the modern game. Managers are coaches now; they have to implement a style of play, instil tactics and strategy, improve players etc. Gone are the days where a manager just assembles a team, organises them ('four-four-f*cking-two!') and lets them go. Those types don't work now; the game is too complex.1 point
