Listening to the podcast last night and was interested to hear Chris Jack and the guys say they would be happy to keep Borna for his last year to see it out and let him go on a free. It’s as if we never learn. That didn’t work with Kent or Morelos. Even if we sold him for 1 million it’s 1 million towards a replacement we won’t have if he walks for free. Borna is another one that peaked at 55 and it’s been rapidly downhill since. I recall him having a mini lap of honour after we beat them 1-0 at Ibrox when Gerrard had Covid. It was as if he had a move lined up and was away. Yet nothing transpired. Guys like Borna, Kamara, Lundstram need to be moved on.5 points

Biggest positive for me yesterday was Ridvan who really grew into the game and did very well after a quiet first 10 or 15mins. A very different type of player to Barisic and someone I think could be very useful if we can adapt to his strengths.5 points

I think McLaughlin has had his chance. Hence why McCrorie played yesterday4 points

In my view what we need most of all is a 25-30 goal striker for next season. A Jelavic type signing4 points

Great to see Todd's goal, his ist which was not subject to a VAR check - an absolute peach, delighted for the boy4 points

Sounds awful. Part of a back 3 which has conceded 58 goals this season as Birmingham finish 17th. Hooked off today after an hour as they are 2 down at home. Why do we continue to try to find players from this god-awful overpriced league? Hopefully just media talk and no truth in it. Our scouting division must have no passports.3 points

Anyone who's even considering that is quite frankly aff their nut.3 points

Might not be the answer but we need to box clever in the transfer market. Focusing on the English Championship seems awfully myopic IMO.3 points

I think Beale would have been better to keep his counsel on Alfie with just a few games to go. It seems pretty pointless and unnecessary at this stage. I didn't think he was the worst against Celtic and I don't understand why he has become the fall guy from that by starting on the bench. What rabbit is he going to pull out the hat for next weeks game because Sakala and Matondo upfront without a striker won't cut it against them. Alfie has given us some amazing moments and will go with my thanks for that. I would prefer to leave it on that note.3 points

The truth is that we have sticker shock so instead of just saying..."Not this year Marge" people are playing the "We're a higher standard." line. Which is disingenuous and a copout. That kid is 20 firiggin years old. What other 20 years olds on this team can play like that? Not a damned one. Beale even stated he was the most talented young player he has ever dealt with at the club. Hello McFly...he worked with both Bassey and Patterson. I would rob a bank to keep that kid.3 points

Oh stop. Leads the team in tackles...second on the team in fouls drawn, third in interceptions, leads the team in fouls given, but not in yellow cards. This kid is a midfielder...that is 'getting stuck in'...full stop. Was the leading tackler in the cup game against them...despite being injured in like the 60th minute or something? All this bullshit about graft, and not doing the hard yards, or work off the ball is just that.3 points

Interesting debate about Beale's comments on Morelos yesterday. After another underwhelming contribution from Sakala, I do wonder if this was a throw of the dice from Beale to get a reaction and one last big hour out of Morelos from the start this weekend. Seems the only logical explanation for me. In general, I've not been impressed with Beale's handling of the media. I don't mind his honesty as such but the contradictions and various other clumsy contributions need work. Perhaps the lack of senior, experienced PR at the club worth of attention too? Food for thought.3 points

Paul Murray Podcast Dear Contributor, Carig Houston recently produced a two part podcast with former Rangers Director, Paul Murray. The podcast covers many of the events of 2011-2015 during a period of turmoil at Rangers from which Club 1872 was born. We thought Contributors might find this interesting given the background it provides and how it reinforces the need for strong supporter representation at Rangers. The podcast is free to view. You can view Part One here - https://youtu.be/i2kpSPBLUvs And Part Two here - https://youtu.be/FDUlKVjmvOs Club 18722 points

Do we replace him before replacing the other weaknesses in our team? Do we continue with the perma-injured players like Roofe, Jack, Helander etc and replace Tav? We can't replace everyone at the same time, so some of these "failures" will be here short to medium term. If rather keep Tav than McGregor, McLaughlin, Wright, Kamara, Alfie, Jack, Roofe etc.2 points

It's same with Alfie. Alfies time is up undoubtedly but I for one will remember him as the striker who bullied European defences for two seasons and scored a barrel-load of goals. I am still raging at Gio for playing Alfie whilst he was clearly injured and in my humble opinion cost us the EL last season. A fit Morelos and we'd have won.2 points

Harshness is exactly what we need at Ibrox. Loads of it.2 points

Was linked heavily with Celtic in January think they tried for him but couldn’t afford him. I expect a few loans for us next season and before anyone complains 2/3 most important players for the other mob last year we’re loans (Jota and Carter) and arguably our best player this year was a loan (Tillman).2 points

FFS wake up Tav has to go he is a complete disaster as a defender he's hopeless i dont hold with all this crap about the goals he's scored ask yourself how many trophies has he lifted no no no get him out .2 points

There can be no restart until Tav is gone or at least no longer captain.2 points

Would be a great signing. Been on loan at Birmingham & is their POTY. £2m sounds a bit on the cheap side though. Multiply that by at least 2 or maybe 3 or 42 points

Been on loan at Birmingham all season and won their POTY award.2 points

Alfie has looked the same all season. Kent was playing well under Beale for a while but has tailed off recently as he reaches the end of his contract. Lundstrum has been poor most of the season, although the last couple of games are arguably the best he's been this season. Kamara has looked the same all season. If BB is bringing in his own physio then that's more a DoF issue. While I take your point on the injured players, we have still been a lot more resilient under Beale and have a far better away record in the league than we did under Gio.2 points

Well , lol! That goes without sayin of course. Although indentured servitude had its benefits...2 points
-
Possibly but that comes with an inflated price IMO. I hate to use our nearest rivals as an example but from their transfer dealings over the last 2 seasons, I think they've only recruited two players from England.2 points
-
He has inherited less injured players than GVB and won nothing. Some of those players look worse under MB. Players like Alfie, Kent, Lundstram, Kamara. We now have BB bringing in his own physio & trainer. MB talks gash in pressers imo. We rely on individuals to win games, not teamwork. The schoolboy errors. Yes I'd like to see him go.2 points
-
I'm hoping Lundstram and Davies won't be here. I'd be happy to see the back of Tav too. Ridvan is supposedly wanting away.2 points
-
Guys like Stevie Clifford and Chris Jack have said they would move him on and it’s interpreted as them having an understanding of what might be going on. To be fair they have been right often in the past.2 points

Gio was not the answer but he was responsible for some truly wonderful Europa league nights that I will never forget.2 points

As always bud, you have summed it up succinctly. A very strange city indeed, brought home during my first ever meal break where I plummed for that old west coast favourite - the Pie roll. The horrified onlookers muttered something about me being a "Barbarian", which I thought was particulalry harsh from a people who designated their children's Autumn break to coincide with the back breaking work of "tattie picking".2 points

He was calling GvB a dutch dud after two games. I mean, he was right...2 points

It used to be Cactusville and it's foremost denizens, Desperate Dan and Dawg devouring Cow Pie made more news than Dundee. These days, Dundee and the silvery Tay is the very centre of Scottish public life. Humza Useless has one less dimension than Desperate Dan, Shona is on her third/forth husband, Stewart Hosie has more bairns than Idi Amin, Joe Fitzpatrick lives a quiet non-scene life and, Jum Spence continues to lead the red biretta revolution from his scratcher. We need a Dundee Diarist to keep Gersnet abreast of going on within Clootie City.2 points

He publicly threw Morelos under the bus, which was out of order, and may not go down well within the dressing room. I don't see how he can pick Morelos again after that and don't think it was to get a reaction.2 points
-
Hopefully he will learn. Remember SG had over 15 years of media training in his locker before becoming a manager. And it showed.2 points
-
I hope so. He’s never let the team down. There were opportunities this season, unfortunately not taken, to find out more about him. I’ve said it before, he keeps goal like a young Billy Ritchie. No giant, nothing flashy but he gets the ball. He’s played against celtic before. He should play again next week and that will inform more about his ability.2 points
-
As much as the criticism about his performances in some big games are valid, there's no doubting the lad's ability and, over the piece, he's had a fine first full season in a first team. As such, in a normal world where you're looking to add 2-3 genuine quality players as opposed to 10 new players, I'd definitely sign him. Unfortunately there are a two main problems. 1) I'm not sure he wants to be here and he's never been positive about staying when asked so I think the argument is moot. 2) Even if he did/does want to come, the fee is a lot of money for us but I think we'd make it back and more in the future. However, in a summer where the manager has conceded the size of the rebuild is huge then that £5m can be used to buy two more 'ready' players; not one with potential.2 points
-
On a more agreeable note, what an absolute peach of a finish that goal was today! That's the sort of goal I daydream about scoring.2 points

He's arguably the only match winner we had this season, and arguably POTY. He's still young and learning, not unlike Aribo and Bassey and look at the way they progressed, and Tillman probably had more potential. Aribo struggled with OF games in his first season and learned a lot and I'd hope that Tillman could progress and be able to shine in these games. It is a lot of cash and it is a risk but if we can afford it then I'd say go for it.2 points

Keeping Tav as captain will be like dragging an anchor attached to past failures. You can’t change without changing. It’s time to move on. No one leaves as big a hole as you think they will.1 point
