  1. That front 3 right there tells us just how deep our striking problems are.....

  2. I'd take van veen, bloody good player, free transfer, low wages, a good couple of years in him yet, at least. I'm not saying he's I'm any way as good, but Caniggia didn't too badly for us, did he?. He's very good playing the lone striker, for a pretty poor team. A far better shirt filler than Roofe, at least he'd turn up.

  3. I've listened to part one. A great interview. A fascinating insight what happened to the club while Paul was involved, covering the end of SDM, Craig Whyte and the sale to Charles Green. Well worth listening to. And for what it's worth, it's nothing to do with C1872, but kudos to them for sharing.

  5. I'm hoping that the energy these 3 can bring can maintain a decent press. I still think Hart and Starfelt have mistakes in them when pressed.

  6. There is a fluidity about that front three. The ball in behind should turn them because of the pace in the front three. We are grabbing at straws because of the lack of first choice strikers. My worry is the 70-80 yard diagonals played from our own box, I do not see any of those three winning headers. However, I remember a game against the Yahoos from '73 at ra Stydome. Parlane, Stein, Young, ... etc were all out. Wallace went with Alfie Conn and Graham Fyfe up front. We ran tham ragged and won 1-2. I am hoping.

  11. Agree with the top part but Alfie played through that injury as he was desperate to go with Colombia.

  19. Paul Murray Podcast Dear Contributor, Carig Houston recently produced a two part podcast with former Rangers Director, Paul Murray. The podcast covers many of the events of 2011-2015 during a period of turmoil at Rangers from which Club 1872 was born. We thought Contributors might find this interesting given the background it provides and how it reinforces the need for strong supporter representation at Rangers. The podcast is free to view. 20. Thanks for all the advice, the Ibrox tour is 100% on the list of things to do. Ive been following along this season and i would have hoped that the season ended better but it is what it is. Im excited to see what the moves are this summer, hopefully Beale can get what we need.

  21. Alfie and Kent have downed tools. They already had under Gio Lundstram has been playing with an injury most the season - and yet, under Beale, has had his two best games of the season Kamara - not sure how you can say Kamara looks worse under Beale - how many minutes has he actually had under Beale this season ?

  23. Ok so we've already got Cantwell and now looks like Dowell ,from Norwich . Teeemu Pukki is on a free ,and although at 33 not a long term prospect, he's exactly the type of player that will help us win us the league next season.

  24. Rangers fans seem to be particularly cursed by it (see the never-ending desire to re-sign former players).

  25. When Van Bronckhorst arrived he said something similar. He indicated that players should be able to find their own motivation here. The problem is that it just isn't true and we know how it worked out for him. It's great if a player is self motivated but we won't always get such players. If you are able to get inside the heads of other players then you will get more out of them. Think about players like Morelos and Kent under Gerrard and then compare them since. I think that Gerrard was willing to find ways to 'inspire' players. I would like it to have continued. Could a captain help with that? Maybe but I think it is mostly a matter for the management team. Much easier competition for all of these fellows. Bringing them up as a comparison should probably trigger a ban.

  26. Do we replace him before replacing the other weaknesses in our team? Do we continue with the perma-injured players like Roofe, Jack, Helander etc and replace Tav? We can't replace everyone at the same time, so some of these "failures" will be here short to medium term. If rather keep Tav than McGregor, McLaughlin, Wright, Kamara, Alfie, Jack, Roofe etc.

  28. you missed out the manager stick him on the out list another dud and i wont listen to any tripe that he has had only one transfer window one to many in my opinion

  29. I never said that, but he is to blame with any other of the other three we line up in our back four not one of the can defend and as long as we give away goals we will continue to play for second place

  30. Alfie has looked the same all season. Kent was playing well under Beale for a while but has tailed off recently as he reaches the end of his contract. Lundstrum has been poor most of the season, although the last couple of games are arguably the best he's been this season. Kamara has looked the same all season. If BB is bringing in his own physio then that's more a DoF issue. While I take your point on the injured players, we have still been a lot more resilient under Beale and have a far better away record in the league than we did under Gio.
