  1. A man that’s always been more than comfortable in his own skin . But we can’t expect him to just roll up and light up the dressing room, he’s going to take some time to get used to the joint. Hopefully he’ll weed out those making a hash of things.

  2. Despite the clear and obvious failings of previous managerial appointments, I think no one should be criticising the board for their efforts this time. This is no lazy experiment driven by old-boy association. They've flushed out as high a calibre of manager as we could reasonably have hoped for. I hope, as the months pass, we see a significant improvement in the fairly lacklustre squad he's been left to work with. However, it takes a dedicated optimist to think some of our duds will ever perform to expectations.

  3. @Rousseau now needs a poll as to when and who will be the first Gersnet member to want him sacked. Welcome to Rangers Mr Clement

  4. Was going to report this post but didn't want to be a grass.....

  5. I also want to see significant change in the style of the team and the overall desire/attitude of the players. If those things improve, the two things you have listed will take care of themselves IMO.

  6. Unless we continue to look garbage and don't win any cups, only an idiot would do that. First two things I'm looking for: win the league cup and give Paedo FC a tough game at the Piggery.

  7. We need to back him as a support now, hopefully this is the start of good things to come. Starting with the League Cup.

  8. Sam Jewell? But he's not an ex-Rangers player with no appropriate skills for the position... A recruitment 'specialist' is exactly what we need in the role now, I'd say. We've had the builder (Allen) and we've had the operations specialist (Wilson). We now need someone to get the most out of the structure. I just hope he - or whoever gets the job - will be allowed the powers to do the job with complete freedom.

  10. Compo is like the First Halfwit, Humza a former pupil of Hutchesons' Grammar School for Boys'. Strictly two and a tanner men, three bob if an egg banjo was included.

  11. Great news. I voted for Muscat in the 2nd poll, but was changing my mind daily. When I saw that Clement was appointed, I was relieved and I think it's the best appointment we could have made. As a support, we need to give the guy time, and I think it will take time to right all the wrongs that have plunged us from 55 to where we are now. I also hope he has a Scot in his management team.

  12. Ah, the excitement of sitting down with your glass of Tree Top and a Wagon Wheel immediately before, 'Herge's Adventures of Clement'. Moules et Frites Loyal RSC.

  13. I think if in 2/3 months time we're still swinging in crosses like we're meeting a quota then surely we can deduce that the players got Beale the sack? If we see a style forming in that time I'm certain fans will back Clement, I will at least anyway.

  14. He’s certainly the calibre of manager we were hoping for. We must get behind him & give him the support he needs in bringing us much needed success & stability. It will be interesting to see who is in his backroom staff because this was one area I felt both GvB and MB didn’t get quite right

  15. I was leaning more towards Muscat but I'm more than happy with big Phil. Welcome to the club big man.

  18. I'm a bit excited. We've all been bored of Beale since last season's league Cup final - it has to get better.

  20. He's hinted that players will have to 'change positions' in the interview so we'll probably get a change in formation and/or different player roles. Not sure if the senior lads in the team are too thick to grasp what he'll want mind, because it sure as fuck looked like that under Beale and Gio.

  21. I think you might need to be a bit more realistic and this isn't a huge week for him. We need to give him some time and not expect miracles.

  22. The usual sanitised first interview but if he has really done his homework he will know there are some eggs to be broken

  23. Is there a rule that says Kirsty Howatt can't turn out for the men's team?

  24. He'll need a magic wand to sort out Beale's duds that quickly. We might have a new manager but it's the old one that's going to have most influence on the next couple of months at least.

  25. Wan and eight? Fourpence short of one of compo’s florins. Not expensive but one might not expect much in the way of quality.

  29. He seems to get teams winning trophies fairly quickly so let's hope the league cup is the first of many.

  31. Aye, until the Scooby Doo gang storm the press conformance and unmask Clement and low and behold, its Paul Le Guen In all seriousness, it looks like a good appointment

  32. Agreed, but is getting to a cup final something that would delay him leaving? I could see that if this game actually was the final....

  33. Hazard was real world class at Chelsea, he could be unplayable and score and assist any type of goal. Its said he liked a burger van after training but it certainly didnt affect him at Chelsea, perhaps his body caught up with him in Madrid with that injury. But his numbers at Chelsea over a 7-8 year period was awesome. Easily gets into the conversation if picking a team of the decade (2010-2019).
