No injuries and leave us with a chance of progression is all I would ask for tonight4 points

Dessers not amazing tonight but IMO that was a hard shift. Already seeing criticism of him online. Give the guy a break FFS. We know he's ultimately not good enough but he's one of our options until the end of yhe season. That won't change so just get behind the guy.3 points

Our away record against Portuguese teams is quite remarkable. That's 2 draws against Porto and Benfica as well as victories v Braga and Sporting over the last 2 decades.3 points

What a half! Harsh pen imo, his arms out to challenge with the defender and he's headed into it, is what it is in Europe. Butland has been excellent bar the one throw out, although he's not getting any nearer the pens he's facing! Ridvan and Dio the difference in this team for me - both left footed and technically gifted which is what we've been crying out for in Europe. Brilliant lads, let's get this win and bring them back to Ibrox smarting.3 points

Don't think you could ask for any better from us! great first half against a quality side! very tough 2nd half to come but we have shown we can cope with them. Same again lads!.3 points

There's that bloody love heart celebration I was talking about. 1. A heart doesn't look like that. 2. Love hearts are for wee lassies. 3. What kind of a name is Angel anyway? Intae this lot, Rangers!3 points

There's a double edged sword to this European competition if we do well it could distract us from the main challenge the league.3 points

Our next three games are all away, played in a short ten day period and are in different competitions. 1. Tonight in Lisbon against Benfica in the Europa Cup. 2. Sunday at Easter Road in the Scottish Cup. 3. The following Sunday at Dens Park against Dundee in the Premiership. After our defeat by Motherwell on Saturday last, this next ten days could be the defining point of our season. The Gaffer has a ton of credit in the bank but, I fear our specific injury crisis in the creative - wide areas of the pitch will be a huge factor. I suspect the consensus among our support is to survive Lisbon, no further injuries and remain in the tie? A waiting Hibs team finding a bit of form and growing confidence is probably as hard as it gets having only one day recovery. If we are leggy and, we will be then, our start will be most important ............. etc. Trepidation Loyal RSC.2 points

Going away to Benfica twice and being gutted you didn't win on both occasions shouldn't happen for Scottish teams, but that's Rangers in Europe the last 6 years. Don't let other fans downplay our record in the UEL either btw, look at the scores tonight - Leverkusen scraped a draw and Brighton and West Ham got pumped. We've never been as consistent in Europe as we are now imo.2 points

Random observation but I thought Butlands distribution was poor tonight. Both throwing and kicking.2 points

I think the lack of options could potentially work in our favour as he will rotate less. My big concern is Lawrence. He evidently can't play 3 games in a week so the sooner Cantwell gets back the better to bolster the no 10 options.2 points

Hopefully but we will not see Cortes again IMO and Danilo will be nowhere near fit to make a significant contribution.2 points

Brilliant performance lads! Get them to Ibrox and turn them over. My motm was Diomande.2 points

His yellow was never a booking! the tackle on him at the edge of the box was!. Very soft pen as well imo! looked to me like Souttar headed the ball onto his own arm.2 points

I am sure the manager and players dont see it that way. They dont come to Rangers to play in our shitty league. They come to do well in Europe and get noticed for their performances on that stage. Clement will pick his strongest side, and they will give absolutely everything to get a result. Whether we get a result or not remains to be seen, but this squad genuinely think they can beat anyone, and have no fear.2 points

It was good when Roofe came on and we had a forward who looked like he wanted the ball. Just saying.1 point

We showed great fight and character. Pity about the 2 poor goals. We were in a bad position tonight with so many injuries and I will take the draw. Some of our players looked dead on their feet tonight. Hopefully the crowd will get that little bit extra out of them next week.1 point

Delighted with the result although we need to keep possession better at times. And their penalty from Souttarโs handball after it had hit his head first. Just what is the ruling ?? Same happened to Newcastle away to PSG. And should Di Maria have been sent off? He got a yellow card first half and had a lunge at Souttar at the end.1 point

And it could be argued that Benfica and Porto are CL level teams. We continue to punch above our weight in EL. A compition that we've excelled in since the arrival of Gerrard.1 point

The whole team defended well tonight, front to back, as I said earlier a soft pen & an own goal stopped us winning 0-2 tonight. Our manager got it spot on tonight.1 point

Still no idea how they gave a pen for that handball as it comes off his head before hitting his hand.1 point

That's a superb result in Portugal against a CL quality side. Only a really unfortunate moment stopped us taking a lead back to Ibrox but I think that's a fair result on the balance of play with us being so wasteful on the ball in that second half. All to play for next week! Add in a very unlucky penalty concession then there's lot to be positive about for the return leg. Yes, Benfica dominated but we were well organised, worked hard and took our chances on the break. Another huge night at Ibrox next Thursday tea-time!1 point

Make changes phil, the players are knackered. They can barely trap the ball.1 point

Buzzing for it. 2 up top the way to go I reckon. Lawrence Lundstram and Sterling midfield 3 if possible. Keep it alive going back to Ibrox and we're all happy! My team: Butland Souttar - Goldson - Davies Tav-Sterling-Lunny-Lawrence-Ridvan Dessers-Silva You can switch between a 2 and 3 in possession with Davies' experience at Left Back too. C'mon lads!1 point

Agree - 3 x tough fixtures. Going to need a player or two to show up with some extra quality in the final third of the pitch. I fancy Dessers and Fabio to show up well though, and its about time we had a few cameo goals from Roofe.1 point

When EVERYBODY else and their uncle was raising concerns about the SFA, the scum were having none of it. Now that they felt they have been wronged...well fire up the fkn presses Rupert!...look at us!...over here medic! It also says a bit about how Celtic believe shit runs. They truly feel they are some special entity that operates under a different set of rules. Mangy deplorables all.1 point

Scottish champions for 23/24 go straight into the new league stage for 24/25. Scottish runners up go into Q3 path for non-champions and would need to win 2 rounds of qualifying to get into the group stages.
