going for beautiful on the eye, fast-flowing football is a pipe-dream we cannot afford at this moment in our history. We simply must stop 10IAR, and therefore we simply must bring in a manager who can WIN FOOTBALL MATCHES. That, and only that, must be our short-term priority. If you want to them get rid of him after he has won the title to bring in someone who entertains more, then carry on. Most of Walter Smith's teams were brutal to watch, but he is revered simply because he won us title after title after title. I watched almost every single game of Walter's two tenures as manager and beautiful football was never his watchword. Yes we played some amazing stuff at times when we had two world class players in the team and also a lot of other very good players, but quite a lot of that era was also just about getting the 3 points and winning the league. Winning ugly is still winning. From the mark we are at just now we are a million miles from playing like Man City or Barcelona, but that shouldnt prevent us from being fit, organised, tactically astute, and able to win crunch matches, especially derby matches, and therefore win titles and cups. I will happily go to Ibrox every week next season and see us win 1-0 with boring football if it means we win the title. Dont anybody kid on that they wont.7 points

Take Morelos out of the team and we don't function as well based on how Murty has us playing. I'm less worried about him missing, albeit it is costing us a lot at the moment, but more concerned with the way he is so easily wound up and how that affects his composure.4 points

Sorry but that is Rubbish. How many of Boyd's goals have been penalties plus he doesn't work like Morelos. Give me Morelos any day of the week.4 points

He's a very good player who generally contributes a lot and works well in the system that we've had some success with. However, he's also a young guy with broken English playing in a foreign country with a team that when things don't go well, the pressure becomes intense. He's also played without a rest for a long time (no close season last summer). The problem isn't Morelos, it's a lot bigger than that and in the end it causes the whole ship to wobble.4 points

This is not fully Murtys fault though , hes a thoroughly decent guy put in a position he should never have been put in .4 points

The reaction and attitude shown by Halliday and Candeias when they were substituted spoke volumes for the lack of respect towards Graeme Murty. I can't imagine players having done that to Walter Smith and survived unscathed. It suggests an immediate change is necessary and it's hard to imagine Jimmy Nicol would do a worse job of preparing the team until a new manager is found.3 points

I just wonder if we're putting too much faith in his record? Like I said elsewhere, he has a record of doing very well initially, then fading away and being sacked. He's not even had a full season, yet we're adamant he's the answer? I can't help feel we're jumping the gun. I would totally accept brutal football if we're winning; we're at that stage. I still believe there is an option that gets us 'decent' -- doesn't have to be Guardiola stuff --- football and gets us results.3 points

It's not bullshit at all , the clip you showed was late in the game , he had every right to be frustrated , as for playing for himself , he's expected to do that just about every game , he's a 21 year old kid who's played now for a season and a half non stop , he's our best striker by miles and top scorer , it's not his fault the way Murty sets us up to play , but yes let's blame it all on him .3 points

He is still a young foreign player learning here. I can't believe what some of our fans are saying about him. Even when he misses sitters and doesn't play well he still gives 100% unlike most of the others. Better players than him have taken longer to settle in to our club, some are even legends now, he needs more time, more support and a manager who needs to bring us together, we need confidence as we have none whatsoever, this all affects the players. He is one of the few players we have who never hides!3 points

I think Clarke looks like the strongest candidate. Lots of experience coaching at the highest level, knows the British game inside out and Killie have been the strongest side in the league during his tenure. The other candidates, aside from MPH, are just plain awful or require us to catch a falling knife. I'm just glad Big Eck has a job now.3 points

Is that the same Stuart McCall that won 6 league titles with us ? Not one of our current squad would’ve been fit to lace his boots.2 points

I would hope any manager we appoint going forward would be headhunted by the club.2 points

It is a bit worrying that McCrorie has been turned inside out, 2 weeks running. Rogic did it to him and Moussa did it twice against Dundee. I hope it is lack of game time and not a permanent weakness in his game. I still prefer him at defensive mid to be honest.2 points

I tried not to but I caught a clip of the first goal. I think there were around 7-6 Rangers player in the box, but he still gets a shot away... That's nothing to do with tactics or desire; it's just incompetence.2 points

Exactly. I think Murty has made a huge mistake by sticking with 1 up front. Both players could thrive alongside each other. I hate it when there's a consensus that we "lost the midfield battle" so we just need to "flood the midfield" to counter Celtic/Hibs/Kilmarnock. It's nonsense, we're not Ross County for crying out loud we shouldn't be afraid to have two strikers right on top of the opposition centre backs like others have done to us.2 points

Vastly? There are now 2 goals of a difference but Boyd has scored a number of penalties. You believe what you want to believe but Morelos is far more worth to the team than Boyd ever will be.2 points

You put Morelos in a team that has a manager who knows what he is doing and he'll do a lot better than a 35 year old Kris Boyd.2 points

I don't see how you can do anything other than make an immediate change ahead of the 5 remaining League games, even if it's only another caretaker until the end of the season. When something is so obviously broken, you need to do something about it. Murty being in charge of the Hearts game at Ibrox on Sunday and beyond is asking for more punishment and a potential 5th place finish.2 points

Im sick of reading this poisoned chalice nonsense. The last two summers have shown our board are willing to back their manager. As for yesterday, well our game plan was all wrong. We sat back and thought we could contain them, when the last game showed they are weakest when pressed high.2 points

I'm increasingly uncomfortable with the criticism of Graeme Murty, who didn't seek the manager's job but was asked to take over by a board of directors that had failed twice to appoint an effective manager and then had an offer to McInnes thrown back in their faces. Graeme Murty might not be the right man to manage Rangers but he never claimed to be. Having a go at him now is a ridiculous thing to do. He may well be the only one in this whole debacle who DOESN'T deserve to have blame hung round his neck.2 points

I called it before the game and i have been proven right. Couldnt give a hoot aqbout his "good work" hes a centre forward and his main job is to score goals. My granny could have scored that horrendous miss with a bloody blind fold on and shes in a F*cking wheelchair! 11 million my arse. He just isnt good enough for where we want to be at.1 point

I should probably mention Morelos too. His chance would not have made a difference but it's an incredible miss. You can see that he anticipates it well. That's not enough though.1 point

Finally watched the goals again. Not too bothered by the first one. Maybe McCrorie should have done better but the player turns and shoots very quickly. Perhaps just a good goal. I don't think that McCrorie would get caught out for the third when he was fitter. He's not fit though and he followed a poor attempt at a passback with a poor decision. The decision to try to pass back may have been a bad decision in itself. Either way I'd much rather have him on the pitch for the rest of the match and available in future games. The second was terrible. I couldn't believe it at the time and it gets worse every time I see it. I really don't think that Russell Martin will be winning a move here. McCrorie will learn. He may end up playing right back or defensive midfield. Martin will only get worse.1 point

The DoF should be lining up potential managers from now on; from a list that is cultivated to suit the way we want to play.1 point

I like others don't want to see 10IAR but think that is least of our worries. We have to concentrate in getting the choice right for manager and then utilise what funds are left to get as good players as we can. Then they must be moulded into a to be feared team, only then can we dream of halting the mhanks and think of better times.1 point

The two Scottish managers to have beaten Celtic this season (Clarke and Levein) are pragmatic and don't care if labeled boring. One of those (Clarke) can also achieve consistency of result, 6 League wins IAR (the next best is 4). Clarke also knows what it is to work at the top level and has shown this season that he can have an immediate effect in the Scottish top tier, even before he got to a transfer window and has yet to be beaten by Rodgers Celtic. Almost reminds me of someone.......1 point

Within what 10 minutes of the game starting, you could see we where playing the same old system that we played the last three times against them. it didn't work then and you could see it wasn't going to work again, you didn't need to be Jose Mourinho to read the script. Morelos works his bollocks off, but it's a totally wasted 90 minutes against them for him, his lack of scoring hasn't helped, he rushes it in the final seconds, a rush of blood to his head. But i blame the system that clearly dysfunctional especially against them. The manager picks the system and to keep doing the same thing over and over again when it's not working is stupidity.1 point

The trouble is, you think I'm defending Murty when I'm clearly not. What I am doing is trying to take the debate out of mere shit slinging to highlight the real problem here ... that our board of directors has saddled the club with three poor managers in a row and that the same geniuses are now going to decide who comes next. Rather than condemning a guy who never sought the job, perhaps a little more time needs to be spent looking at the suitability of the current board. Because when Murty goes we are right back to square one.1 point

Under better managers, Boyd didn't get on the park for most of the challenging games and the one time when we could have done with his predetory skills, he fluffed his lines at Villareal.1 point

Great to see them relegated. I don 't have any time for the team that plays that scumbag McClean.1 point

There were numerous applicants for our job, and I'd guess that many would be more tactically astute than Murty.1 point

Gutless spineless clueless. Players openly berating the youth coach. All is not well in our camp. Hard to see us winning any of our remaining matches with the current setup. The interim manager, the glorified youth coach, has to be relieved of his duties or we end up 4th in our 2 team league. Celtic didn't actually create a single good chance today that wasn't the direct result of our poor play. A red card and 2 pens is a dream game for Bobby madden, and we again allowed brown to leave the field of play with both jaw and legs intact. Hard to think of how today could possibly have gone any worse.1 point

I read it so that you might not. Some highlights here: Thinks that the manager/dof are satisfied with his contribution Thinks he has done alright with 4 clean sheets out of ten Is quite satisfied with his performance apart from against Hamilton Not sure I'm persuaded. He acknowledges that good performances are required for him to win a move. I think we might have a higher level of performance in mind than he does. I wonder if he would be on more or less than £7,500 per week.1 point

Apart from Preud homme none of the other rumoured candidates excite me. Clark is doing well at Killie but he cannot set a Rangers team up like a Killie team. Normally I hate goalkeepers as managers but I suppose Preud Hommes managerial record speaks for itself.1 point

17 goals suggest otherwise. Only rangers fans would suggest dropping both our top scorer and the leagues top scorer because he misses a few chances. Jeez.1 point
