  1. Disagree. He isn't getting much game time so pointless him being here. We also have other, better options even if Morelos is out. Roofe being just one. If we need two players per position then we have Morelos & Roofe for the central striking role, Itten would be 3rd choice and hardly get any game time.

  2. While I condemn racist behaviour of any kind it is obvious that there are sections of society that are permanently offended and who try and influence society for their own gain, let's not be fooled into thinking that those making the complaints are anything more than agitators and leftists who want to see a society moulded to suit them, it's political point scoring to quell loyalist voices and we all know it.

  5. £117 for some of the best matches of the season is not a rip off.

  6. Probably a good move and hope he gets back to full fitness, has a good season and comes back to us a better player.

  7. I get that @CammyF but I will actually be disappointed if we don’t sell at least one for a 8 figure sum this window as our finances require this or we need to go into debt or get Directors to stump up again. I like the look of Itten, he has bedded in now, looked our on form striker in pre season and instead we now need to rely on Sakala who will now need perhaps a half season (same as Itten) to get up to speed. Roofe doesn’t stay fit for more than a handful of games at a time, Defoe is emergency only as he learns the coaching, now leaving only Alfie to get the title winning numbers of goals. I don’t think we are as strong up front as it may look on paper with everyone fit, that’s all. I trust our management to get more right than wrong and they have certainly earned our trust on these issues, so I’m trying not to worry too much.

  8. never really got what people see in Itten. Supposedly played well v Malmo didn't see it personally.

  9. Well he's not missed the target there and he is 100% correct.

  11. I know its early and he has hardly played much football but am I the only one that is not overly impressed by Sakala? Would have Itten over him at this moment. Big Cedric had never let us down.

  12. Not many strikers, though. I wonder if Alegria could step up, if needed? Edit: Forgot about Sakala. Meh--we'll be fine.

  14. Tims saying we couldn't afford him.... and one of their own then says "He's a loose cannon, got done for drink driving" - lol

  15. You’re right, they absolutely don’t care that their bias is obvious. It’s become a mark of their power that they can flaunt it with impunity. Rangers fans who refuse to understand this and continue to howl at the moon for some non-existent “fairness” are badly deluding themselves.

  16. It was supposedly from The Athletic, but I can't actually find a reference to it at all. Probably nonsense. I presumed McCann would be a replacement for a departure. I don't mind us snapping up talented young players, though; even if they do not get a game immediately.

  17. These people let the club down all the time. That said the government have a cheek they fund an apartheid schooling system that is as embarrassing as it is divisive.

  18. So the club think it needed to make a statement about the behaviour of individuals well outside the confines of the stadium, what's the behaviour of people well away from the club have to do with them in the first place . And who said these people are fans and not just a bunch of silly Billy's out to cause trouble let police Scotland deal with anything outside the stadium after all that's their job .

  19. Surely if it is £15M plus addons then it is only £15M for now as the addons haven’t been triggered. Take off VAT £2.5M, then 10% to player £1.25M then the sell on clause. There is absolutely no way on the planet the bheasts paid £9.5M for him. Typically they add in all potential future addons, agents fees (sometimes wages too) when leaking what the deal “costs” to their lapdogs. My guess is if the bheasts say £9.5M it was probably about £6M transfer fee with the rest being other costs that wouldn’t count when calculating profit. This is generally shown to be nearer the truth when their player trading figures are disclosed in the accounts.

  20. Good luck to Itten. I'm like him and think his effort was spot on but not convinced he suits the way we play. I'm still a bit concerned about our midfield. Davis is no spring chicken, neither is Arfield, Aribo is better further up the park, Lundstram has been average, Jack's injury situation is never-ending and Gerrard doesn't seem keen on giving Kelly a start. If Kamara got injured, it would be a real worry.

  21. Fair points Cammy. I liked Itten as he offered something different IMO. Still have my doubts whether Sakala will have any impact on our season

  22. I was at the B team game on Saturday and would describe him as "raw". He has pace, scored two goals (missed a sitter from 6 yards out) but the opposition were terrible to be honest - think they've conceded 54 goals this season. He will undoubtedly score goals at B Team level but I would be surprised if he features for our 1st team this season. If he continues to score goals, might even see him going out on loan 2nd half of season to championship side like Raith? For what it's worth, some decent performances from B Team any time I've watched them and they play decent football. For us not from the West, Dumbarton isn't the easiest to get to but at £7 for an adult and £3 for kids / concessions I'd recommend popping along and lending our support to the B Team.

  23. Clearly I did too, lol. Itten now 4th choice central striker. H ewouldnt get game time, best he goes elsewhere to get game time, confidence and hopefully goals.

  24. he needs games and if morelos is staying that is unlikely. we have options up front quite a lot of them really.

  25. So say the sale is 18.5 mill as being reported (after add-ons) Player gets 10% off top line presumably ? There is 1.85 mill Sold for 18.5, bought for 9.5, profit of 9 - 50% to PSG is 4.5 mill So.... Sale of 18.5mill minus cost of 9.5 mill minus PSG sell on of 4.5 mill minus Edouard cut of 1.85 mill - profit of 2.65mill. Still not too bad I guess - but nowhere near a cash cow the media like to label it. As you said, though, this is all cash immediately as they have largely paid for him already. However, they have just spent an awful lot of money this summer too. Their next set of financials will be really interesting.

  26. the press seemed very sure it was 50% of any profit on Eduard in Jan. Came from PSG supposedly. I wouldn't bet on him triggering many clauses.

  27. Everything I have read states this. 40% of any sell-on, not profit.

  28. Maybe if we highlight the selective outrage another thousand times something will change.

  29. The final paragraph in the statement is a subtle dig at the people who display selective outrage. It's all so tedious. No one is actually offended by songs and everyone knows the statement is a tick box exercise. This is where we're at as a society - a minority of shrill Tweeters seem to run the show.

  30. Like we had all summer, mainly from supporters who like him and his style. Thing is, our midfield is loaded to the hilt, we`ve just signed Bacuna, who IIRC playes exactly McCann`s role and first there need to be slots available, as I cannot see many displacing Kamara and Davies who are not named Jack, Aribo, Lundstram, Arfield et al. And signing someone for hard cash to be loaned out immediately and reared for the future ... hm.

  31. While I largely agree with you that the club can't be held responsible for what happens in the town an hour before a match when MSP's are publicly calling for a response from Rangers it's difficult for the club to remain silent. Even if the MSP in question is someone with questionable motives and undoubtedly doing it for political reasons, it's hard for the club to simply ignore him, unfortunately.

  33. I find this a very frustrating one. He was well known to be from a Celtic background but we all said that didn't matter, yet there was a feeling of inevitability about this. He has been a big player for us through the youth teams and had the better of Celtic throughout, yet the second I heard he had left Rangers after a fall out I knew he would end up there. Hopefully he’ll amount to nothing, by all accounts there are serious red flags regarding his attitude.

  34. There are videos circulating where something is being sung to the tune of Sloop John B. The vid I've seen has them singing, "The party's over, why don't you go home?". I understand why Celtc diehards, like many SNP politicians, are upset that their team are no longer winning as much but there's no need to go overboard. Let's face it, Dornan and Humza have previous for diving in with both feet and subsequently being made to look rather foolish. Additionally, yahoo pranksters have previous for doctoring footage of Rangers players and supporters.

  36. Joe Hart is for me the interesting signing they made. Going back to yesterday’s goal, Helander’s header was far from unsaveable. It was however to his left hand side which, during his loan spell at Torino a few seasons ago, the Italians highlighted it was his weak side & he lost many goals at that side. Just wonder if he’ll get exploited up here the way he was in Italy

  37. Only if told to by the ref for me. Otherwise you just get players fooling other players.

  38. Absolutely not, no matter the score or the time remaining. Give that shower of scum nothing!!! Any other opponent I would say yes in any circumstances other than those exact ones you mention, where you have to put decency aside and try to get something out the game. As always in these situations, if the ref thought it was a bad injury, he has the power to stop the game so if he doesn't we are not duty bound to return the ball.
