  1. I think we need to keep playing just now to help the team gel and to get some players minutes.

  3. We need to keep playing and with the mid-season farce in Qatar, I would look to avoid postponing fixtures unless we really have to. Couldn't care less what PSV do.

  4. I think I'd rather we kept playing to get minutes in legs...

  5. The "right people" being those with money. It's not right that just because someone has money to buy a woman's and B team season ticket to get Mygers points but has no intention of going, they have a better chance of getting tickets than someone who doesn't have that kind of cash.

  6. This humble pie is absolutely delicious, I just didn’t see that as being possible with how we’ve started the season but we made the bang average Belgians look, well, bang average. We took some of our chances and got away with our sloppy defensive errors and giving the ball away in dangerous areas this time, but will need to be a lot sharper to get through the next round, especially with the first leg at home. But anyway, just going to enjoy soaking this one up, the unexpected victories taste all the sweeter!

  7. Quick look at PSV squad reminds me of previous Transfer threads. Joey Veerman and Xavier Simons.

  8. I'd prefer us to just play and get the team to gel.

  9. Man Utd are interested in PSV's star player Cody Gakpo. Unfortunately, PSV are not selling until after our game.

  10. Can you imagine the messageboards had that been McGregor or McLaughlin 💥 He is stepping backwards and can't get much elevation in the jump. Full marks to Tillman for opportunism.

  11. Wow !! We made a specific bit of history (comeback from 2 goals) and contributed to what has been mostly, a quite amazing few years in Europe. Very glad to say the humble pie went down very nicely, just didn't see that coming. Got some breaks but to a degree, you have to make your own luck. Huge result in terms of prestige, momentum and finance. Such a comeback will be noted throughout Europe and help consolidate general reputation. Very big for GVB's credibility rating and for the team to grow into the season, (and avoided recrimination fallout). An approximate 6 million sterling added to turnover (worst case scenario) So far we have pretty much stumbled through the season without any meaningful damage inflicted. Hurdles get higher next week (PSV, Hibs(A), PSV) and we will need to up our levels but even if PSV were to put us out (JuJu points) it'll be a softer landing, on various levels. Last night was our first win in CL football since Steven Naismith scored from a Kirk Broadfoot cross, in a 1-0 win over Bursaspor, 13 years ago......and only our 2nd win in 24 CL matches.

  12. Tilman gets across him fairly well and gets up brilliantly but it is awful from the keeper.

  14. I don't have an issue with the principle in itself but points should be awarded based on games attended and not someone's wealth and ability to pay to get on the wall of champions etc.

  15. It's a bit of a football meme. Jamie Vardy said it ('chat shit, get banged') after a match when he was playing in the Conference, I think, after an opponent was acting a little smug and full-of-it. That was his response after scoring and beating them.

  16. Lawrence continues to put in performances like last night ,then he's going to be hard to leave out of the Wales squad for Qatar.

  19. Good result although Union should never have been in it at all. Tillman's leap for his goal was amazing. The keeper will be having nightmares.

  20. Does McCoist get his pronunciation from your spelling? Tonight, whilst ignoring the match, I drank vodka Martini for the first time ever (in a fine dining rooftop restaurant). I might do it more regularly after finding out the result. Not where it costs 12 Euros though! Bond Loyal

  21. I reckon Tillman will be up all night, adrenalin pumping. Such a clever footballer ... you really think ahead if he plays alongside Hagi. As Frankie said, we lacked some co-ordination for large parts of the first half, maybe for the time being, we look no farther than Davis. Arfield and Lawrence made up the numbers in attack and kept them well occupied in their half. Colak is a threat. Makes all the right runs, takes good shots and headers. I might be wrong here, but IMHO, he would have put two of the three chances Alfredo had away. You do wonder whether these tow will be played alongside one another, as it would multiply our goal threat by quite a margin. Kent was a bit like Sands, in so far that he had some great spells and touches, then gave possession away in rather inopportune moments. Sands looks good, gets in the right positions, gets most of his blocks right and passes as one would expect for a centre-half. But aged 22, he will improve still and become an asset. One does wonder how we will incorporate him and Davies, since Goldson, like Kent, seems to have an auto starting place. There will probably some "test-games" till we get an idea how best we utilize Lawrence, Matondo, Sakala, Wright, Roofe and Co. once they are all fit. Hope Gio finally goes away from Plan A. Early days still.

  23. I would be disappointed if that is the way we go. I do accept we may need to trim the wage bill further first though.

  24. Getting through last night means either: - we go through to CLGS with the milk and honey that brings (amount variable but much bigger than 6M) or - we go out at PO round and get 5M Euro UEFA pay out plus extra Home fixture (gate money at 34 pound sterling a nap*) *Obviously concessions/children tickets much cheaper

  25. Central Midfield we need an attack minded comfortable on the ball number 8. Lawrence showed last night he can do that but that left Arfield playing 10. could go for a 10 and keep Lawrence at 8 of course. I think we will sign the boy from Romania.

  26. here is a question could VAR have stopped Sands being sent off with it being a second yellow? I hope so with it also being a red. Ref deserves some credit for going and speaking to the linesman and taking his advice. Though perhaps VAR was already screaming at him.

  28. Tom Lawrence has arrived, best player on the park last night. Mentions due to Lundstram, Tillman and Sands (cut out the under-hit passes). And GvB & staff for lifting the team after some indifferent, low-tempo performances.

  31. Yeah, I wanted to mention Lundstram as well. What a different a year makes. 'Chat shit got banged' indeed.

  32. I went for Lawrence but special mention to Lundstram who was great and Sands who did well defensively(despite a few misplaced passes), very aggressive in the tackle 1v1 like Bassey was. A very different team from Saturday but it worked very well.

  33. Just in from the game elated and totally knackered from standing the 90 minutes as I have not been too well over last few weeks. Some really good performances, another dodgy ref. and as for VAR where was it in second when a definite penalty was not reviewed. Anyway here's to next test.

  34. Well, we tried our best to let USG into the game at times but thankfully it was their mistakes that allow through. Only one team in it really but our lack of creative quality remains a concern. Hopefully more games should mean more sharpness and understanding. Well done, Rangers!

  35. While checking the scores of tonight`s games, I noted that there will be the Super Cup between Real and Eintracht tomorrow. The latter`s preparation was a slender 6-1 home defeat against Bayern last Friday, when the BL kicked off. (Will still need some tome till I get over that game ... what a chance missed.)

  36. Wow!! I’m the first to admit I didn’t see that coming. Credit has to go to GVB for getting the team right. Also, Tillman brilliant tonight, what a player we have on our hands. Colak deserves credit too, he’s a goal threat.

  37. Not forced per se but if you want a ticket for a big game and/or a season ticket then you have to join. My pal and his son had to spend £90 last month just to get on the waiting list and it's unlikely they'll get one for at least a few seasons unless, of course, they spend a lot of money to increase their points tally. It's not a good look to be honest.

  38. Whilst not infallible, I'm struggling with the idea that Goldson is not a fine leader of our central defence.
