The WINNER of the Gersnet Prediction League 2022/23: buster. @buster.

Effort and hard work excuse a multitude of sins in the eyes of most Scottish football fans. Sakala's a better player now that at the start of the season. His covering and tracking back are impressive and he can challenge and sometime win arial duels now too. His finishing is still way below what's required and his decision making remains patchy at best. But he doesn't hide and he keeps at it, it's hard not to like him while still hoping we sign someone better.

I will drink a glass of Rioja tonight in celebration!! Thanks very much to the indefatigable @Rousseau for taking the time to organise the league, it has certainly stood the test of time. Thanks to all competitors who together make the competition into what it is and to Gersnet @Frankie for hosting. Hope to see everyone back safe, sound and well for the Predictor League 23/24.

He's been giving the ball away in bad areas quite a lot recently (mostly unpunished but that's due to the calibre of opposition).

Since we won't be at Paisley, glad to see the back of that awful season. Kudos to the club and fans for the send off for our departing players. Nothing wrong with a bit of nostalgia and decency.

Forgiven for what ? I realise wee Fashion is far from a highly skilled consistant winger, but looking at these league stats he does better than average. Fashion - 10 goals, 7 assits in 28 games Morelos - 11 goals, 5 assits in 32 games Kent - 3 goals, 8 assits in 29 games Wright - 0 goals, 1 assits in 23 games

In the first half yesterday, Sakala turned in what must be a contender for the worst personal performance of the season. He was a little improved after half time but it's hard to see him as the answer to anything. However, he's one of those players who attracts emotional commitment from fans and will no doubt continue to be forgiven.

We really must get a Jelavic-type striker for next season. Our shortcomings up front are there for all to see

The points stands, it’s a time when players are available at a cut price and we often see good players sold at that time. There was no word of interest last summer or January. We’ll see how good the offers are, and how well they do. I wish them the best but I don’t expect much from either.
