This is a defeat to a team with little or no European track record. This is down to the quality of the players available. The summer signings have been poor. We are missing a few good players through injury. The exact player that I think we need is on loan somewhere. When a new manager arrives there will be very little that he can do before getting players back or signing new players. Two recent highlights were winning the league and reaching a European final. We have built on neither one.

No idea why people are suggesting other players would have been better, its a moot point, we've no system, no style, you could put Messi in there, no one running off him would see him useless as well. The only positive, it's clear there's not going to be a 'bounce', hopefully this will focus the board.

As much as we scoff at the likes of Warnock and Allardyce, these 'old school' managers would probably do not too badly against the types of opposition we face and might also be good at kicking a few arses. Have any foreign tippy tippy Xg coaches actually done a job in Scotland?

Call me out for calling out our full backs like but it's actually brutal to watch them try to reach the byline. There's a reason we swing in crosses from deep, it's because they can't fucking move.

Who else could he play? Roofe probably isn't fit enough to start, everyone else is injured. Cifuentes has been poor recently, Jack must be injured again, then we're into untried boys.

I agree entirely, Europe is a nice to have. However, never in their history have Allardyce and Warnock scudded every team in their league. Big Sam plays Martin O'Neill style football, if that's what you like, go for it. Warnock is about the right age to be POTUS.

It's slightly depressing, but there is an argument for getting in a manager who can set up the team to, first and foremost, reliably scud the 10 SPL diddies, and not worry too much about European performances.

Also, whatever Davis has done for us in the past, he wasn't the right man to bring in even temporarily. The blame lies squarely on the board for doing this, but you can't expect someone who has been friends with these players and played through similar periods with them to be able to give the harsh words that are required.

I know people will hate me for saying this, but Beale shouldn't have been sacked before a European game. He should of course have been sacked, but there was a period in the break to do it.

I hear you, but I massively disagree. Put better players on the pitch and there is a far higher chance we would succeed. A major part of the problem is that Beale has replaced players with poorer ones.

I think they'll struggle to get anyone willing to take the job! Can't see how Bisgrove us gonna convince anyone of any quality to take the job. Fully expecting another jobber of an appointment and more years of torture.

Worst possible time for Europe. Aris scored two good goals and that was all they did. Bang average trash on par with Killie or Hibs. We just don't get our feet on the ground right now, and most players are well below form. Pass marks for Sima and Wright, the rest tried but essentially failed. Whoever decided to get rid of Colak and Sakala needs to get skelped to the Clyde and back.

Dessers and Lammers are hopeless. They are nowhere near good enough to play for Rangers

Well if the potential new managerial candidates had any doubts about how big this job is, tonight has shown our glaring deficiencies. Club is rank rotten from top to bottom and full or absolute losers. Changing manager is an urgent requirement but so much more wrong with our club.

Therein, leaving aside the obvious vulgarity, lies the problem. Our players are untested. Edgar Davids was bossing the Ajax midfield at 16. (Think about that: Ajax; 16yo.) Our young players are anything up to21, even older. Either use them, or loose them.
