I don't think it's currently a case of can we afford to sack the manager it's now a case can we afford not to sack the manager.4 points
-
Of course it’s about ability. Celtic are better than us in almost every position right now. And some of our players have been very overrated.4 points
-
No matter what happens, we really need to move-on from some of these players who have consistently under-performed for multiple managers.4 points

Definition of Insanity is what we currently are , playing the same slow plodding turgid football but expecting a different result. We simply cannot play against these teams , we've been struggling for 2 years now, and expecting different results . The Feyenord fans that were on various podcasts all predicted this would happen . He has to go , and go now.3 points

I'm not even upset. I've been in this mood since just after GvB's honeymoon period. I see these performances and results as inevitable.3 points

We need a goal - been a good start to game, creating chances, just need to take one.3 points

Goldson going out was the end of our season. He's more of a Captain than Tav will ever be2 points

Omg. Wonder how much they paid city to get ceri the bore bowly in. staggering levels of incompetence on show from all involved2 points

To be fair to Arsenal they have turned it around under Arteta. Wonder how the vast majority of Gooners who wanted Arteta sacked for so long are feeling now2 points

For me the problems are above the position of team manager. Does anyone really believe sacking GvB and bringing in a replacement (who by the way) would turn things around completely? we’ve got a squad basically made up of bosmans and bargain basement signings with the occasional youth or loanee thrown in. And also with a DoF doing what exactly? Bringing in players at cut price fees with injury records ? Letting once saleable assets run down their contracts? What would any new manager make of this ? Until we get serious investment(from where I don’t know) to go out & get better calibre players then we’re stuck where we are I’m afraid with the occasional good season but mostly mediocrity2 points

It never has under gio. I have no idea what our best team is and neither does our manager. We all know what's coming in the near future. I expect a new manager to be in place at the turn of the new year. In the meantime I have no expectations in the current set up. We're bang average.2 points

Gio can't motivate the players it seems. Utter bull IMO.2 points
-
Like it or not, if Gio can't get the players playing for him then he has to go. What's the point in keeping a manger if he can't motivate the team? He has to go.2 points

They'll learn from it and come back stronger etc. Yawn.2 points

Unfair on Tillman to get subbed. I thought he was one of our better players. Morelos and Colak on the pitch, though.2 points

They have not been in our 18yard box and we are 1-0 down! Need to get back to the performance levels of the opening 20 mins and convert a few chances into goals.2 points

Kent just going through the motions, has been for a while now, spins in circles with no end product2 points

And yeh, this for me. Stats aren’t the problem, it’s just about understanding what they are based on and I’m not sure how a chance is defined here. A high quality chance stat would be far more useful, as well as making it “per 90”. It also just doesn’t make any sense at all that Jota is not in the table. He was on the same number of assists as Kent on Friday and for me, he creates higher quality chances consistently.2 points

Napoli go six points clear at the top of Serie A after beating Atalanta last night. Second place Milan got a last minute winner, so it could have been a bigger lead.2 points

Maybe they simply remove the roof and thus they get a shower every other week for free?2 points

I am enjoying a childhood favourite, a weekend at Eyemouth. The sea is a calm turquoise and the harbour buzzes with dormant strength. I lunched at DR Collins cobbled pen, they have their own boats and the produce arrives on one's plate courtesy of a crested wave. The fruits de mer was £35 for two, consisting of a Lobster, Crab, prawns and, half-a-dozen Lindisfarne oysters. A bottle of white Burgundy to accompany and you have a pig in the proverbial situation. I note Rangers B are due to play a Lowland League fixture tomorrow at Foresters Park against Tranent, some thirty-odd miles up the A1. I am looking forward immensely to a lazy Autumnal drive to the bountiful East Lothian. Finding a Chef-Patron Brasserie for lunch, a table d'hote menu offering local rustica - Lappin au Moutarde, Pol au Pot or, Cassoulet? I wonder does East Lothian with it's coastal boundary offer red wines similar to the Languedoc, mostly cabernet with a hint of merlot sweetner? The main course is Rangers Colts up against a side locally known as, 'the Belters'. I have no doubt the beef will be rare, the heart gently bleeding. The denizens refer to the town as, 'the BIG T' and are known to celebrate the burning of the traitor's effigy, Guido Fawkes with considerable relish. Is there value in bringing one's pre-prepared marinade, add a sizzle to the Big T Barbecue. Being Autumn, I hope the locals have been foraging with their truffle pigs and hounds in the local woodland. A half time treat of Tarte Flambee aux champignons is a favourite. A trencherman's match report tomorrow evening.1 point

When we get a corner it doesn't even register with me as a potential opportunity to gain an advantage. Our dead balls are so unimaginative and predictable. Much like the team I suppose.1 point

Maybe we will go on a run racking up points and goals and then we will be saying what was all the panic for1 point

We are meant to have a DofF that would give us continuity, but we have ended up with a manager whom it appears has no style of play at all , it was exactly the same in the league last season , nothings changed . I fully accept the injury list is horrendous , however the players today are more than capable of winning that game .1 point

The shambles on the park today is on Gio but the omni shambles under many managers over the past few years now is on them. who knows where we would be if King didn’t ditch McInnes and went to get Gerrard1 point

Two crackers there. Forza Inter! I'm scunnered with Rangers.1 point

Nowhere near good enough in every department there. One-paced, one-dimensional and completely devoid of any quality or character. Ultimately the manager has to take the blame for it but I'm unconvinced anyone else will get a tune out of some of these players.1 point

Oh, well. I've got Sampdoria-Fiorentina, Leverkusen-Union, Southampton-Newcastle, Tottenham-Liverpool, Roma-Lazio, Juventus-Inter and Marseille-Lyon to take my mind of our troubles. It might be enough...1 point

Look on the bright side: if we lose here, which seems likely, as St J is controlling the game, it leaves us free to concentrate on the Cups.1 point

I'm really enjoying this current rangers team. I can't wait to hear from the manager after the game.1 point

I agree with your premise, but no team should be reliant on individuals to make something happen; it's the job of the manager to implement the plan to create chances.1 point

Whistles for HT time at 44.59 ... There was a little argument about dominating teams and creating chances will win you games. Today's just another example that you can dominate and create tons of chances, but at the end of the day, goals count. Fun fact: Shots 3-17 On target 1-3 Goals 1-0 Corner 0-12 TBH, our captain's atrocious defending cost us that goal. Rookie King just blasted the ball out of the park, our veteran gave it straight back to the opposition with a tame pass back into play. On another side-note, our left-attacking slot isn't showing up ... again.1 point

Aye, we gifted them that goal, although you have to credit the finish itself. We've played well but we're not clinical enough and generally too soft.1 point

We need to take advantage of this pressure we've got,1 point

Wasn't a bad game at all. Tranent certainly good value for the draw despite going down to ten men for the last 15-20mins. Not overly impressed by Rangers to be honest but felt Lovelace was the pick of the bunch and he certainly wasn't afraid to get stuck in. Good to catch up with 26th again and a good day on the lash with Ian as always...1 point

I don't care how we win but JUST win, get to the shutdown with no dropped points and hopefully we take stock and come back stronger...1-2 for me1 point
