Very proud of the team. Finishing top of the group and making the last 16 is a tremendous feat.7 points

As bad as they have been at times, credit to Lammers and Dessers for staying fit and available. And giving 100% when they play. Dessers made a real difference last night and (whisper it) may be adept at leading the line on Sunday.5 points

Thought that was one of our best away performances of all time tonight alongside Dortmund a couple of years ago. However important games still lie ahead this month. Donโt forget that. A win on Sunday is essential. And a win at the bheggardome would send a clear message to all our enemies4 points

We should celebrate victory the way we have always done and not start behaving like a diddy club because of a few years of adversity.3 points

Anyone reckon Isco would be up for an EBT?3 points

Last night will be forgotten if we fail on Sunday against the typical red "wall and sneak a counter-attack-goal" style we are facing in Scotland nearly every week. My biggest point of bother is not the quality of players we have, which has IMHO increased this summer, but the way we go about our business in most of the league games, player- and tactics-wise. Hence my remark about bringing Hagi back. People were and are saying that Shankland or Miovski shall be an option, back then and nowadays. Yet, had we played Shankland back then when he was first linked (and regarded not good enough) or would play him now like we do with Dessers, Danilo, Morelos et al, he would probably fail to deliver as well, up alone against packed defenses. For - outside the OF games - he hardly has to cope with that sort of defending. Get Dessers and Roofe on alongside one another on Sunday, one the physical threat, the other the predator, and we will reap the benefits. Wee remark: no doubt Kent had his qualities, but Sima is far more the left-sided goal-scoring attacker our current system requires and demanded for years.3 points

Yet another great Rangers night in the Europe, pumping Betis to top the group (forever green my arse). Even though he has a similar amount of injuries to what GVB had to deal with, Clement has our team playing for each other. Hopefully he will get some players in this January window. Next up Abersheep in the League cup final on Sunday. Cโmon The Famous. I must admit no more European football for the manky mob this season brings a smile to my face too. WATP3 points

My favourite comment of a truly wonderful evening came post match from Derek McInnes. He was talking over a rerun of our second goal and when big Cyriel turned inside two Betis defenders he said, "Dessers decides to become Archie Gemmill then nutmegs the keeper". It was that kind of night.3 points

Very interesting competition, the League Cup. Some facts. Little-fancied Partick Thistle and Raith Rovers both won sensational finals against a club from Glasgowโs east end and it wasnโt Clyde. East Fife had won the trophy three times before that same Glasgow club had even got to the final. Rangers and Aberdeen have met in the final six times, with the Famous winning five including the very first in season 1946/47. The Rangers side that notable day was: Brown; Young and Shaw; McColl, Woodburn and Rae; Rutherford, Gillick, Williamson, Thornton and Duncanson Ever dependable Willie Rae in for Sammy Cox and Eddie Rutherford for Willie Waddell and unusually, Willie Thornton at insde-left. Jimmy Duncanson cantering about on the left wing scored twice and Torry Gillick and Billy Williamson once each for a 4-0 result. I demand the same score or better on Sunday, the goals spread evenly throughout the game. No extra time and no bad starts or nervy last twenty minutes. Iโm too old for that sort of nonsense.2 points

All we have to do is convince the players that Sunday afternoon is actually a Thursday evening, Hampden is in Spain and Aberdeen are Real Betis - job done2 points

F that. Celebrate everything like its our last and best. If the last 11 years have taught me anything its that we should lord it up over any cup.2 points

SykesBear a couple of weeks ago... "Celtic took 6 off this shower. 6! And we needed a penalty to snatch a f*cking draw. Pathetic. We're winning nothing under PC. Bookmark this. Save it. Do whatever you want, he's winning nothing here. The club is toxic."2 points

A victory parade for the League Cup? Have we sunk so far?2 points

Lundstram for me but the save from Butland where the goal was disallowed for what was either a handball or offside was perhaps the most vital moment of the second half (up until we scored).2 points

As a side note, I think that boy Borja Inglesias is the worst striker i've ever seen. And i watch Lammers every week.2 points

Last night's result will be a massive boost for the players. It certainly is for the fans. We've got to be at it from the whistle. Let's do this Rangers.2 points

Just watching it back again, Dessers doesn't half do well on the first goal. looked at first like it kinda broke off him, but on second viewing he definitely knew what he was doing, off balance too. ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป Nice one, Cyriel.2 points

Aye pound for pound we're probably the best performing club in Europe over the last 5 years - you'd get derided for saying it but I think there's a serious case for it. Scottish clubs weren't meant to get to European finals in 2008 yet alone 2022, yet we did and did it with bosmans, loans and 6 figure signings. We're used to it and it's not like we need flowers but not enough is made of it imo, we're pretty much solely giving hope to clubs in Europe with less than 100m in revenue that they can win major European honours. Proud of the team and club, hopefully we can start winning domestically too now starting Sunday ๐ค1 point

Wee look to the Northeast ... Aberdeen did the unthinkable and beat Eintracht Frankfurt (who slaughtered Bayern 5-1 last weekend) 2-0 at home, effectively treating this game like any against us: parking the bus and waiting for the counter-attack. No football Eintracht is used to and they couldn't break the well-trained red curtain. So their tails might be up as well, hoping to frustrate us as best as they can and sneak the odd goal. BBC Scotland's Big Dick Gordon and Referee, Don Robertson will be sitting beside each other in the front row of the top deck holding the trophy.1 point

This nonsense is as old as the hills. Rangers spend more time in the opposition penalty box than any other team bar one, so it follows theyโll get more penalties. Opponents with one exception spend less time in Rangers box so fewer events that could lead to an award occur. Add to that the fact that Rangers defenders arenโt renowned for their tiger tackling so forget conspiracy, look at reality.1 point

Dessers has shown absolutely nothing so far, that may be due to the fact heโs useless. Another Franny Jeffers.1 point
