  1. Jesus man this post is depressing I am a long long fan have been through untold misseries and will still go to games--AT IBROX--but admit that I did not go to the cup games at HAMPDUMP do to health consideration. I followed the team through the journey(home & away) but only at home now for above reasons so todays result is just another blip,we have a rebuilt squad so let's get behind OUR TEAM.

  2. McLeish restructured a team of 100 million or so, and we still had the financial clout and reputation to capture the two most desirable free transfers in the world at the time, when the restructuring really started we had to scrape the barrel and came 3rd in the league. We are unfortunately restructuring from a well beaten second best team this time round, and we have been psychologically rammed. The only way out I see is if we actually put a long term plan of action into place, and this probably means short term misery.

  3. To be honest I sympathise with Clement. He is overseeing the largest financial restructuring since McLeish, and the football was absolutely bogging back then too. It's going to be like this for a while.

  4. We need to forget about them and focus on us. We have been in the doldrums since 2010 apart from brief spells under Gerrard and Gio. We need to accept where we are at and have some patience. We cannot keep sacking managers every year or so which is in itself causing major legacy issues. If you want the manager sacked then say it. Otherwise what is the point of going on about his record since Motherwell? I just do not get where you are coming from and I suspect I am not alone.

  6. Think Butland should have done better for the 2nd goal, from that distance out?

  7. Well done young man. Hope he rips it up down there. Just look at the scenes behind the goal when he scored. If that was us going into the 91st minute at 1-1, the stands would be half empty.

  9. Today was another sore one in what has been a catalogue of painful defeats at the hands of our closest rivals but we need calm heads. We have effectively asked our manager to perform open heart surgery without an anesthetic and we need to give him time. We've brought in a lot of players in at one time so we also have to show patience on that front to. Get behind the team! IMO, it is clear that Clement has a few major decisions to make. He has to make a call on the captain. Tav is miles off it has become a liability. I would also be actively looking to move Butland on in the winter window. He's a decent keeper but nowhere near as good as some think. If we can get 8/9 million, I would take it.

  10. Although I don't personally know the OP, I can vouch for him. He has produced the most wonderful spreadsheets.....

  11. Celtic actually out fought us today. The part of the game where we break up the park and Kyogo sprints 60 yards back to tackle Lawrence with our players huff about with their faces tripping them. Effort costs nothing.

  12. Butland is an average keeper. Reminds me of Wes Foderingham.

  13. Philippe Clement may have been given a new contract and I don't think Walter Smith could address the cowardice of this Rangers squad but the Belgian simply must explain why they continue to capitulate time after time in this fixture. We are a weak, weak club at all levels. It goes without saying there can be a difference in quality in games. You can know that going into any match but that has to mean organisation, fitness and attitude has to at least help bridge the gap. We have neither that or even the basics. That's the manager's responsibility. With that in mind, he made no subs at half-time after one of the most cowardly halves I've seen even from this team. It's inexplicable and just suggests it's acceptable so why would the players ever need to change their attitude?

  14. We've really come into the game the 91st minute .

  15. Good post. Some prefer to pile on the misery when it's better to be a bit more pragmatic and realise changes need to be made before we can get back where we belong. They have more money than us. There's no sugar daddy going to save us. We need to buckle up.

  16. Well done wish him well and he is STILL PLAYING IN BLUE.

  17. Its not about changing the board. Its about them hiring capable individuals to run the club and auditing what they do to ensure we are headed in the right direction. Not hiring cucks like Wilson and Robertson. Sugar daddy is not an option. The ideal case is to work with what we have efficiently and using to achieve success. You don't do that paying guys with no transfer value like Goldson, Tav, Lawrence, Lundstram etc 30k a week. That's stupidity.

  18. What you are saying regularly and pretty cogently throughout the afternoon and evening since the final whistle is that the situation is dreadful and something needs to be done about it. Not many will disagree. The fact is that there’s nothing ordinary supporters of the club can do to procure benevolent parties willing not only to buy shares but to provide huge funds by way of working capital with little hope of return.

  19. Better Rangers teams than this have failed to qualify for the CL. We were 7 points adrift last season, and more behind the season before. I've already posted that I don't think we've strengthened the first team enough. I'd rather we focused on younger players, though. We can't spend our way out of it. I've already posted weeks ago that I wasn't expecting a title challenge this season. It's too much of a rebuild in difficult financial circumstances.

  20. I don't feel this season is comparable to Beale last season. Yes we are 5 points behind but we are no where near as bad as we were then. I knew watching that defeat in Kilmarnock Beale was done. Time will tell i suppose but i expect us to get back on the horse and start improving. Hopefully we avoid some bad results in Europe.

  23. I don't buy into this myth that Parkhead is intimidating at all. Unfortunately, our players seem to. It's like a daft Oirish theme park.

  24. That defeat is very painful and was totally self inflicted. We could have taken goals off them today, imagine what a really good team would do to us. We got rid of serial losers and replaced them with more losers. It was a total capitulation from the goalkeeper out and that is never forgiveable for Rangers players.

  25. The initial xG is 1.74 vs 1.39. That's bugger all! If we could just take a chance or cut out the defensive mistakes - or, better still, a combination of both - they are there for the taking. 14-13 on shots, 4-4 shots on target, with the difference being the big chances (5-2).

  26. This is a nonsense. What's the point in turning up?

  27. Desser is a solid backup player to come in when your main man is injured and smaller teams he will always score he is intelligent but he lacks something in big games a presence never in the battle with defenders, I like him but unless he changes we need more up top.

  28. There have been various embarrassments against Celtic in recent years but that half is up there with the worst of them. We constantly capitulate and it's beyond unacceptable. Not one player capable and to a man they bottled it with several chucking it altogether. Shameful. First 10mins were reasonable but once Celtic adjusted, we lost any shape, we failed to track runners, couldn't pass the ball, lost almost every physical contest, lack fitness and have absolutely no player capable of leading us out of it. An utter disgrace with 45mins still to go.

  29. He hasn't been the worst but I hope Tav never plays at Parkhead again. The yahoos must love the sight of him.

  33. I am sympathetic with the nomenclature, at the moment. I don't think that, having got us into a fine mess, PC should be allowed to walk away with a substantial poke. He has to be given some time to improve matters. If it becomes obvious that he can't 'fix' things, then continuing at Ibrox becomes untenable. I think that it will become obvious when his time is up. Departure will be triggered, not by the calendar, but by events, or, if you will, by results, primarily, and performances. I will be very pleasantly surprised if he can turn things around.

  36. Unless there is a reset in the mindset of our management, i.e. how to play football in Scotland, we are essentially in for another toil. The stubbornness we show since Warburton is bordering on lunacy by now. We have about half a dozen players who need to settle - again - and an OF game at their den is probably the worst place to start. Alas, this was not unexpected, so there is no need to cry louder than necessary. There's along season ahead.

  37. Constantly moaning about how rubbish a manager is would suggest the person wants him sacked. I moan a lot about Dessers and definitely want him sacked.

  38. @Rousseau does make a fair point around the xG, it's been a theme for years - Celtic are Uber clinical v us and we fluff chance after chance against them. McGregor and Furuhashi's goals today are one in a season goals. There's obviously circumstance surrounding the goals which more often than not include appalling defending. That can be corrected with good structure and coaching, which I think Clement is capable of tbf. I'm going to be glass half full and say stick with him, if sacking manager after manager in October isn't working might I suggest supporting them instead? The one time we did it worked out in Gerrard. If Clement can crack the ingredient to winning these games then he'll win the league for us, I genuinely believe that.

  39. I know mate but game state will play into that. They aren't a brilliant side - we're just very meek when playing against them. Get a psychologist in, please! Slot done it at Feyenoord, they hadn't won in Amsterdam for years - brought in a quack and they pumped them in their own midden. We need these marginal gains. Clement needs to learn from this. Going man for man wasn't wise. Building out from the back was and is the right thing to do though - I'm pleased that we stuck with it.

  40. Let's be honest, the path out of where we are requires brave and innovative leadership. Not Bennett and his bungling board. Employ some real footballing men, people who know the game and what it takes to run a football club. That's not a lot to ask, we are not asking for the impossible. Buckling up and sticking together won't get us far I'm afraid.

  41. Remind me of McLeish's record as a Rangers manager? Clement has to shoulder some of the blame. We have no structure, no formation, are unfit, slow, pedestrian. Those attributes don't cost a penny.

  44. This has been coming all season. Clement still hasn’t shown once that he knows how to coach the team to be difficult to play against in these games. It was one thing Gerrard could do with a similar level of squad.

  47. We have done well to get rid of so many players this window and the jury is out on incomings (think we are 3 or 4 short). Looking through the squad, it's hard to pick 11 - 15 players who you'd trust to play 60 games a season. So that'll mean constant squad / player rotation and players playing out of position. Our horrific injury record has continued into this season and we are a Dessers injury away from having no fully fit strikers. Next two or three games will show exactly where we are as some tough games coming up starting today.

  48. Remember, when we last played them in May we were by far the better side. But for a close var call we could have went ahead and possibly gone on to lift the cup. Sure our personel have changed dramatically since then but i believe we are in a better place now and we seen last week, at last, a style to our play. As usual at their midden we need to ride the storm, don't give away cheap goals and hit them hard when the opportunity presents. Can we beat them? You bet we can.
