This may not go down too well, but I always had reservations about the song. Debate the rights and wrongs of it all you like, the fact is that we should be keeping our nose clean and away from controversy. Is the song about Rangers? No. The way its been portrayed in the media is very one-sided. How they can call the song SECTARIAN is beggars belief. Racist? perhaps. Offensive? to genuine Irish probably. Sectarian? well its big bad rangers singing about celtic fans so it must be! That is my main gripe with the issue. Telling fans of a scottish club who pretend to be irish and revel in flying a foreign flag (not just the fans, I have seen the tricolour atop of their stand when attending an OF) to go back to ireland seems rather logical if they love the place so much. It is also kind to inform them that they are NOT at risk of dying like millions that lost their lives in previous generations. The fuss and the media attention around the song: unfair yet predictable. Rangers fans singing it: unecessary. The screening of only rangers fans songs: inexcusible.

if we're to go for a young scottish spl defender, i'd personally go for darren barr at falkirk! Always impressed me in our games vs falkirk and has already been given cap in national team.

From what I've seen of Aaron (the imfamous youtube clips) he always apears to play on the left. In fact, the only place I've seen him described as right sided was in one of the red-top-rags! in saying that, alot of the best wingers can switch wings...

for me it was the confidence and belief that winning brings. All the signs were there for me to suggest we are going to have by far the strongest squad and surely we will go on and have a successful season. You made some excellent points, however I feel it was the first choice 11 that needed enhancement, especially in the creative department (barry ferguson will not suffice IMO!). There is a long long way to go yet until the end of august so it will be interesting. I am pleased with the velicka (sp) signing but a little surprised and slightly perplexed by the others. It is disappointing that cousin does not have the heart or focus of some players as with those attributes he would be a fine striker for us, but while his commitment and motivation is questionable, I think he should be free to leave. Disappointed in the sale of Buffel... but thats been discussed at length, equally the lack of opportunity given to gow. It is imperitive that we hold onto mcgregor and cuellar. It would be nice to see a player capable of walking into the first 11 and lifting our standard of football, but I guess we will all have to wait and see! Last season went OK considering the expectations and the write up at the start of last season!

Personally I thought that the ferocity of the personal attacks on murray and bain on FF were OTT and anyone that dared to have their own opinion (ill-informed or not!) got absolutely slated! regarding celtics actions earlier in the season i think you are right in being cynical. However, football rivalries aside, Tommy was a great servant to football and a good genuine Christian. Thoughts and prayers go to those with a void left by his departure. He will be sadly missed by many.

i heard that we might be playing athletico bilbao at ibrox... and i think the other game that went with that one was liverpool... was a month or so back! Hope the spaniards come, my mate from spain supports them (and rangers after visiting for villareal game at ibrox!) and would be ace for me personally!!

I think i saw that flag too. I noticed it cos it had "Shettleton" on it and was going to get a picture cos thats where my dad grew up and my grandpa came from. My grandpa was a true bear and is sorely missed. He was even a member back in the day when Gers weren't a company and still a club. I noticed the "ICF" underneath and stayed well clear. It would be a fairly easy thing to infiltrate considering the numbers. All they'd have to do is buy one of the many t-shirts kicking around on the day and pretend to be rangers fans! Especially when everyone would be so quick to blame our fans! Films like football factory and green st are good films to watch - but seriously, if people like that exist in real life, they should be locked away.

I do think its right that some of the locals are entitled to some of the tickets, but your right, the random allocation thing to all punters and his dog is just crazy, and breeds this touting environment. Especially so when its a brittish club that makes it to the final! Whoever it was that got 2 payments taken off... do you use the card for 2 different seats/CCCSs??
